  • Comparing the three large foldables available in the US market. I've used the three foldables extensively since their release and I am going over my experiences with each one among different categories. Which one do you think is the best foldable in the US market?

    Hey....I like the comparison. But you're wrong on the One Plus not able to have two browsers open at the same time. It can. Open up Chrome. Then open a new window. Now drag to the left or right. Now you have two page.....side by side. Voila

    OnePlus reliance on hardware also means that their photo and video quality is most likely to improve over time as they improve the software. Whereas the other two run into hardware limitations. With the OnePlus 12 having the same camera hardware as the Open, there is a a lot of focus from the team on this particular hardware and any software improvements can easily be rolled out to both.

    Fold 5 is where I am at due to samsungs experience and software. Goodlock is a great feature if you really want to get the most out of your phone. Plus the design is perfect narrow screen makes want to use my inner display more which is the reason for buying one of these phones.

      I have the z fold 5 and the OnePlus open. I can promise you the one plus open is much better.
      It lets you use the outer screen where you want to one-hand it, but allows you To expand to a water screen when you have that second hand available. Plus it is noticeably lighter than the z fold five.

    Another advantage of the Z's software is how it handles media. You can play media simultaneously and send each to different devices. For example, I'm listening to you through my phone speakers while I play white noise in the background through my bluetooth speakers. Not a game changer, but it is something I use all the time.
    I just have to figure out how to keep notifications on my phone when Im streaming music through the car speakers.

    Went with Fold 5 after 4 years on 1+ devices. Open looks great but I need more data on after sales experience if something goes wrong within the warranty. Another thing mentioned by other youtubets was fogging of camera lenses on Open in very cold places.

    I've been watching the Fold series since it was first released and watched all the issues as they tweaked it over time. I'm surprised everyone is jumping on board the OnePlus Open and labeling it as the best foldable with it being tested in the real world for just a few months. Now, after a year or two, you can say it is if it holds up. But I'm still wary of how it can hold up, especially the inner screen to real world testing, with little dust and water protection.

    • @phoneux
      @phoneux  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think part of the reason there is some expectation of it being fairly reliable is due to OnePlus being a sister company to Oppo which has made three generations of this phone.
      Also, the lessons that Samsung has learned over the years can also be picked up by its competitors without needing to build a product themselves. This gives companies that make a foldable for the first time a better starting point than Samsung that started the category.

    I have to disagree with you on the hinge for the pixel fold, because one the hinge isn't made to be like the others as well as it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, and i dont want any device that snaps open like the others, but this sponge analogy that people have been using is a little off basis, the fact that i can open my device at any angle and it stays in that spot is a win for me, but maybe thats because i am also a surface duo user and that just rocks for me.

    • @phoneux
      @phoneux  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a certain point in which the device cannot hold itself up because the weight will make it rock backwards. All three phones can hold themselves up until that point. I don't see the need for it to stay in position after that limit.

    • @RJ_Uploads
      @RJ_Uploads 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@phoneux if your talking about the side with the gigantic camera housings then I understand that point, but I much rather open and close my own device without it snapping out flat, but everyone has there own preference of devices that was the main reason I sent my open back. Plus most of the cases I use usually level the back half of the camera out on the pixel fold. Still a great video though. 👍🏾👍🏾

    Open cover screen is nice but it makes the inside screen too square and much worse than Fold 5 in usability. You buy a foldable for the inside screen. So fold 5 is still the best phone giving the best compromise of both cover and inside screen

    Went from z fold to open. I use the inner screen a lot less. I shouldnt be forced to use the inner screen because the outer screen is a terrible aspect ratio. The oneplus us just as easy to use physically one handed because its thinner even tho its wider. Oneplus also has fantastic touch rejection so it ends up beating the fold easily. I allways had to arch my palm to use the z fold but the one plus rejects palm touch flawlessly. Anyone who says the z folds are better one hamded is lying or coping hard. Lol, one-handed use is only important when the other hand is occupied, like carrying something. I can type and answer calls with one hand on all phones. Otherwise, I'll wait until I drop whatever I'm carrying.
