Very tasty Pumpkin Halwa/Kids favorite Pumpkin Halwa/delight for winters Pumpkin Halwa
Paithe/Kaddu/Pumpkin Ka Halwa
Serves 6-7
Recipe
Ingredients:
-Paitha/Kadu (Pumpkin) 1 kg
-Doodh (Milk) 1 Cups
-Elaichi pressed (Cardamom )3
-Cheeni (Sugar) 3/4 Cup or 1 cup to taste
-Ghee or oil 3/4 Cup
-Dry nuts chopped ½ Cup
,Soji quarter cup
Directions:
-Cut pumpkin into two halves and remove seeds.
-Peel off the skin and grate it with the help of the grater.
-In pot,add grated pumpkin,mix well and cook on low flame for 10 minutes then cook on medium flame for 15 minuts or until it dries up and keep mixing in between.
-Add milk and mix well.Then cover and cook for more 10 minuts to soften the pumpkin and to dry milk
-Add sugar,mix well and cook for 8-10 minutes to dissolve sugar,this will leave water,turn off flame
-in another pan Add ghee and elaichi,when it starts crackling,add soji,mix well and cook for 4-5 minutes till it smells or light brown
-Add pumpkin and dry nuts and give it a good mix.cover and cook for 5 minutes on low flame
-Garnish with dry nuts & serve!
