Hey everyone, as you can probably tell by now, this piano medley is a little different from the others. I thought I'd try venturing away from the piano and try one of the thousands of voices my keyboard comes with that I never use. I chose the steel guitar cause it sounded kinda cool and I always wished I could play the guitar! With the guitar setting, a few songs sounded better to me than they would on the piano, so I put 'em together. As you'll see, they're a mixture of a few different genres. I have a feeling people who like some of the songs will probably hate others. But I love em all. In order the songs are:
The Rainbow Connection from the Muppet Movie - gotta love Kermit
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica (how many times do you see kermit/metallica back to back?)
Pride (In the name of love) - U2
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
True Colors - Cyndi Lauper
Forever Young - Rod Stewart
Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel
So Far Away - Carole King (um, yeah I dont know why I felt the need to do a pseudo guitar version of this, I just thought it sounded good)
Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy it!
PS - Sorry about the funky noises that happen every so often when I pound a little too hard!

Hahaha, thanks - I'd say I put in maybe around an hour a day of practice for about a week before I try recording it. Then recording the video/audio and uploading takes a few hours
like a quasi-harpsichord song with a little reverb! I love it. great songs
oh.......loved the higher quality sound version immensely.
the steele guitar voice was sharp, plunky, and a nice diversion.
Your piano playing is the best i've ever seen. I'm trying to teach myself the keyboard at the moment and watching your videos is so inspiring. Loved The Rainbow Connection, Pride and True Colors - Brilliantly done as always.
I still get goosebumps when I hear the U2 song.
Hey guys, glad most of you like the music. Yeah, the patch definitely sucks - I should have probably tested it out before posting. Watching it in high quality helps a lot - and if you download the mp3, you'll hear it how I hear it when I play - definitely a difference! Maybe I'll repost it as an actual piano medley later on...
your videos and the way you're playing. are just amazing!! can't stop watching them because they're so beautiful. i'm really impressed. especially because you're doing it all by ear.
Incredible!!
I have sheet music for Rainbow Connection that I bought years ago, from a music store (so please don't me for it, anyone). But I love your rendition...so pretty!
What a Great Keybordist! Love to hear you on a piano that does'nt sound so "tinny"
YES! A BILLY COMPILATION!
I think the steel guitar sounds great. I have a keyboard that makes like 300 different sounds, but most of them sound a little too annoying to do anything with... and your transition from kermit to metallica was amazing!!
Thanks for posting. Really enjoyable but especially -- Rainbow Connection; at 3:15 -- I don't know this song but really enjoyed this section (Pride?), True Colors; So Far Away (great song over 35 years old).
men .. you r the best!!!!! all Favorits!!! I wanna play like that
Dude when you played in the name of love i was singing it like crazy great job bro
I want your keyboard!!! Love it!
So great! I love the guitar setting... and you of course 'cause you always live up to my expectations :)
OUTSTANDING AS ALWAYS!
Beautiful! Your style is uniquely amazing. Keep it up man!!
I think (KNOW) you're fantastic! What an ear you have, and a brain between them both (ears, that is) to retain THAT much music in there. You are like a national treasure to me, and my inspiration as an artist, pianist, performer (at times), church musician, composer, and arranger. Cannot say enough about your enormous talent and artistry I have also experimented with the guitar sound on an electronic piano, and frequently hear tunes I don't otherwise hear, and come with some interpretations that seem to come from out of the blue.. Could listen to your music all day and well into the night if it were possible. THANKS and 2 BIG thumbs up for this effort!!
Great medley!
Fantastic!
Lovin' it all! You should definitely take a listen to the Finding Nemo Score, and maybe pull a couple little tunes from there!
awesome job...you have quite a talent there...cant wait to see what you come up with next ;]
Brilliant as always - thanks for sharing -clearly Kermit and Metallica belong together... :-)
I officially love you now that I know you've done The Rainbow Connection. (I just discovered you a few days ago)
Wonderful as usual!! :)
dam good job pd.
the ending to "so far away" was great, classic.
never realised the muppet movie song had so much going for it.....nice job.
would love to see you do "black hole sun" as i think it would adapt to piano beautifully. maybe i should check your archives, it's probably there.
and you win the prize: the "making a rod stewart song listenable" prize.
how much time, on average, do you spend putting one of these medleys together?
very very very gooood"!!!
good Job Michael!
Jacques from italy!
hells yeah
i suggest an elton john compilation or a billy joel one! that would be the best!!
I just prefere the sound of the real piano, but i liked so much, good musics in the list.
OOH man great tunes ~ TNX!!
I Like the Fritz Hansen Table
I only liked "True Colors". Don't get me wrong, you were great...... but that's the only song I liked....... Hey !!! ... you missed two songs in your christmas medley (Christmas Time and God Rest Ye).. I like the second one 'cause it's scottish.
Wow, great! and awesome piano! Im going to buy it at an early date. Let's check my vids. Greetings from Poland. :)
2 Dislikes are tone deaf. Seriously.
