When you buy a truck you just don't buy a truck thats ready to go. You gotta put a lot of work into these things like you're doing to make them right for you. A lot of people don't realize that and that's why they will never be successful in this type of business. Good luck and safe travels brother. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Electrical gremlins. Hate those bastereds. I have found it’s simpler to just replace complete harnesses before I chase wires down. Not hard to do on a freightliner. But a Volvo with electric gremlins ? I’ll say a prayer for you tonight!
Crazy u found that! I would of spent a week tearing that whole dash down to fire wall and would of ended up putting a whole new harness In. I had to replace the outside light harness on my Columbia (all my running light and head lights started shorting and blowing fuses) and the engine harness (that was just cause the old one looked crusty and frail). Those were easy. One day and done. Light harness is in the passenger side frame rail. From front to back of truck with one million zip ties 200$ each harness. I have one last harness on this truck that needs replaced, the main chassis harness. It cost 2k wholesale. Lists for 2400$. That’s the harness from the batteries to the starter and everything in between. It sits in the driver side frame rail and weights in at about 20lbs of wires and has I think over 40 plugs 😂 That’s gonna be a beast of a job to route it properly like factory. If I had a Volvo, my buddy told me that would of been a few thousands in wire harnesses and labor. Your lucky your good with electrical.
Would rather take a beating, then mess with wiring. My T600 would not fire up today. Got down in the teens and guess it did not feel like running today. Battery time again, these are 3 years old.
nice easy fix. i hate how they route wiring in trucks. so many wires all bundles together...sure makes it hard to keep track of the one you are tracing....the circuit numbers are so hard too read too. maybe i am just getting old.
I had a similar wire-to-bracket issue with the ambient-air sensor at the bottom of the radiator. The harness snaked around and under the driver's side of the frame and shorted to it. The outside-air temp would fluctuate all the time and it would indicate -20 in the summer and so forth. Changing the sensor did nothing and eventually I found the wiring rubbed through on the frame. If I recall correctly that sensor problem also prevented proper functioning of the AC system. If it thought we were in freezing weather, it wouldn't let the compressor on!
Thank you for this video I got a question please can you told me how to make floor Lighting work and how I can find the location for it I have 2019 Volvo VNL 860 thank you
I have one like yours, 1.4 million miles and it still rolls like new, but I have a few drops of oil in the blow by pipe,? How does the tube you put help where you put the oil
That was on my old truck. it had excessive blowby which causes pressure to build inside the engine and can make certain oil leaks worse. So the extra tube just reduces some of the blowby pressure from a worn out engine.
Quick question Do you know where is located the IGN FUSE, have a massage displayed at my dash “Check Fuse IGN fuse at next stop” all headlights fog lights and signals lights not working let me know thanks
Did you ever figure out what this message ment? I just got this message today, and I can't find anything online. Lights are working fine. For me it's the wipers and AC blower not working.
Probably very common on trucks that driver's move the steering every time they exit the truck. A good dealer likely could have went right to the problem, but also a possibility that they could have moved the steering wheel enough that the short went away and then said they couldn't find anything wrong, and then of course after you picked it up it would happen again. You just can't ever tell.
Right, probably would never be an issue for someone like me who almost never moves the steering column. I'm guessing this truck may have had one of those drivers that moved the steering column every time he exited and entered.

Yep, you can plan on fixing something, few times will you get a truck that doesn't need anything, even new ones have problems.
1 little wire causing all that trouble and mess. My dads the type to take a hammer to things when they don't work lol. Glad you got it fixed 👍
Electrical gremlins.

Good find wiring can be frustrating some times keep up the good work

I'm usually lucky to get 3 years out of them myself
Wow...you have tons of patience 🤔
Damn I would of gave up... nice job, great lesson in patience
Good job bro keep it up your vidz help for sure,I have a vnl670 that I work on myself owner and I feel your pain electrical issues.

I was beyond frustrated, just glad I found it
Good job, Mr wire detective.
Excellent video!!! Thanks for the patience too!

I'm going to start bringing my truck to you!
That guy looks like the WWE wrestler Chris Benoit!
Jumping in to the fray! Pun intended

Good eye 👁.. nice 👍🏼 job chase

“I hate it. I hate it. I hate it” Me too! Take care, Jack. 😂

Yep, if that stupid sensor is unplugged or thinks it's to cold it won't let the compressor come on.
That’s my worse subject too , but most of my problems with electrical, is someone else’s hack job 😄
Thank you for this video I got a question please can you told me how to make floor Lighting work and how I can find the location for it I have 2019 Volvo VNL 860 thank you
I hate electrical wiring problems, but if I was as good of a mechanic as you are I wouldn't. Did you have formal schooling or training for mechanics?
That's what I used to do before I got into trucking.

Have you seen any signals flasher while you were there? My Volvo is 2012 daycab.I can’t find it anywhere.

IDK check the fuse box for blown fuses
Did you ever figure out what this message ment? I just got this message today, and I can't find anything online. Lights are working fine. For me it's the wipers and AC blower not working.
That's a common point of failure in those Volvos. I think there is a service bulletin on that. A dealer likely knows exactly where to look.
Probably very common on trucks that driver's move the steering every time they exit the truck. I just purchased the same truck what year make and model is yours?
If you have a Volvo truck, don't take it to a mechanic when it breaks, take it to an exorcist.
Thanks!!! You helped me and saved me many hours) 💪🏻
U ever deal with j1939 ?
Wow what a birds nest 😂😂
yep
Thanks for sharing
Well done.
What program are u using to view or get that scmatic
Google
Good video thank you....
Good job thanks
You got a bird nest of wires.🤔🥺
Anyone else have an issue with the radio coming on with the ignition off? 2013 vnl
5000 dollar bill. Figure they would design that better..
Right, probably would never be an issue for someone like me who almost never moves the steering column. I'm guessing this truck may have had one of those drivers that moved the steering column every time he exited and entered.
OMG Please shoot me if I ever rip a truck apart like that to look for a fuse.
Wasn't looking for a fuse.
Language not understandable
And now ................ GO CLEAN THAT CAB AND DASH
Volvos are JUNK!!
