I'm with you brother. I like any and all Bruce Lee items and some more than other. To each his own and its all personal preference! There is no right or wrong just good old fashion collecting and have fun in the process! Do you mind me asking what the reproduction Foshan statures that you picked up were sell for at the time? Always like to compare in case others become available....Thanks

Another awesome episode Charles! I believe the collector is Andy Dragon on TH-cam? Those Foshan Statues came out in 1979 and were the first Bruce Lee collectible statues! There was a complete set of 12 statues sculpted by artist Lau An San of Foshan, China! Those are pretty rare to find and will be almost impossible to find with the pink silk-lined original boxes they came in. Trying to find these porcelain statues without cracks will be very hard and expensive! Also Andy has some cool figures there! Also look for the artists chop signature on the base!
That is correct Josh! He goes by Andy Dragon on TH-cam and is a GREAT Guy! Do you know him? Thanks for the input of the Foshan Statues that came out in 1979. I remember seeing them in the Martial Arts stores in NYC Chinatown back then but was more into the magazines, books and photos back then. Looking back now I wish I purchased all 12!!! And Yes, Andy has 3 still in the beautiful original boxes they came in back then. I will be doing an episode on those statues in the near future and discussing the first generation vs. the fakes! They are incredible! Do you own any original first generation in your Bruce Lee Collection?

I don't have any of these Lau An San statues. I love vintage items the most for collecting, however I love really rare figures and statues with the likeness of Bruce Lee!

It’s refreshing to see the diversity of items in Andy’s collection. Some collect one or two particular types of items of interest but to see so many in a collection such as this one is remarkable. The fellow that shows up with Andy in one of the photos (Danny Feliciano) is an old friend of mine and an instructor in Jeet Kune Do. My congratulations to Andy on an outstanding collection! And Charlie, I love the way Bruce’s face “pops” on your tee shirt, looks as if he’s about to talk lol!

Charles another truly outstanding episode Andy's collection is top notch! love the way he posed his figures in different poses and outfits VERY creative and fun to see his imagination come thru his work. Great Job Andy! hey why is it I have never connected with him? HMmmm? Andy I too have been collecting since the early 70's and I am also from Brooklyn, NY now living in NC. I too picked up my statues in NYC Chinatown sad thing is they really weren't very common to pick up all the poses they came in spurts to the shops in Chinatown and 42nd St. The biggest drawback was they were anywhere from 250-300 back then and as a teenager I know many of us did not have that kind of money I grew up poor and in the ghetto's of Brooklyn so $300 was ALOT of money back then but I do have 9 or 10 1st generation statues and most of the reproductions. I will say this, that those collector's that you mentioned that have the 12" reproductions they are becoming collector's items now too and are getting a little more scarce to collect commanding about up to 50 a piece or more.Well, to finish off because we can talk of Bruce Lee collecting forever. But Andy Great Collection!! I usually come into NY around the middle of July every year and meet up with my Bruce Lee Brother Hector Martinez and Richard Torres if he's available from his busy teaching schedule. Bruce Lee never actually said he would beat anyone in sixty seconds or less. He did say a fight should last a few seconds if you have trained for all the possible line of attacks. Punching range. Kicking range, Grappling range. Etc. 😉

Great video Charles , and a great collection from Andy i love Bruce figures and statues its something i look for most of all to add to the collection , i know there are people out there who dont have the passion for figures but its great to see another collector who loves them aswell . They are fun, beautiful, life like, poseable, display well and get better and better with each figure released! It adds some FRESHNESS to Bruce Lee collecting! I'm with you brother. I like any and all Bruce Lee items and some more than other. To each his own and its all personal preference! There is no right or wrong just good old fashion collecting and have fun in the process! Do you mind me asking what the reproduction Foshan statures that you picked up were sell for at the time? Always like to compare in case others become available....Thanks

Foshan Statues came out in 1979 and were the first Bruce Lee collectible statues! There was a complete set of 12 statues sculpted by artist Lau An San of Foshan, China! Those are pretty rare to find and will be almost impossible to find with the pink silk-lined original boxes they came in. Trying to find these porcelain statues without cracks will be very hard and expensive! Also Andy has some cool figures there! Also look for the artists chop signature on the base!
That is correct Josh! He goes by Andy Dragon on TH-cam and is a GREAT Guy! Do you know him? Thanks for the input of the Foshan Statues that came out in 1979. I remember seeing them in the Martial Arts stores in NYC Chinatown back then but was more into the magazines, books and photos back then. Looking back now I wish I purchased all 12!!! And Yes, Andy has 3 still in the beautiful original boxes they came in back then. I will be doing an episode on those statues in the near future and discussing the first generation vs. the fakes! They are incredible! Do you own any original first generation in your Bruce Lee Collection?
@@CharlesDamianoBLC I don't know Andy, but it clicked once you put the video up of the La Au San statues by a guy named Andy on TH-cam. I put two and two together and just guessed it was him! I don't have any of these Lau An San statues. I love vintage items the most for collecting, however I love really rare figures and statues with the likeness of Bruce Lee!

It’s refreshing to see the diversity of items in Andy’s collection. Some collect one or two particular types of items of interest but to see so many in a collection such as this one is remarkable. The fellow that shows up with Andy in one of the photos (Danny Feliciano) is an old friend of mine and an instructor in Jeet Kune Do. My congratulations to Andy on an outstanding collection! And Charlie, I love the way Bruce’s face “pops” on your tee shirt, looks as if he’s about to talk lol!

Charles another truly outstanding episode Andy's collection is top notch! love the way he posed his figures in different poses and outfits VERY creative and fun to see his imagination come thru his work. Great Job Andy! hey why is it I have never connected with him? HMmmm? Andy I too have been collecting since the early 70's and I am also from Brooklyn, NY now living in NC. I too picked up my statues in NYC Chinatown sad thing is they really weren't very common to pick up all the poses they came in spurts to the shops in Chinatown and 42nd St. The biggest drawback was they were anywhere from 250-300 back then and as a teenager I know many of us did not have that kind of money I grew up poor and in the ghetto's of Brooklyn so $300 was ALOT of money back then but I do have 9 or 10 1st generation statues and most of the reproductions. I will say this, that those collector's that you mentioned that have the 12" reproductions they are becoming collector's items now too and are getting a little more scarce to collect commanding about up to 50 a piece or more.Well, to finish off because we can talk of Bruce Lee collecting forever. But Andy Great Collection!! I usually come into NY around the middle of July every year and meet up with my Bruce Lee Brother Hector Martinez and Richard Torres if he's available from his busy teaching schedule. John how many of the first generation Foshan statues do you have and are they in the original boxes. Andy shopped those same stores back in the day! (42nd street and NYC Chinatown-small world man!). Mohamed Ali wouldn't be able to get close to this legend to punch him! I mean the legend s kicks was absolutely lethal! As he did say he beat anyone less then sixty seconds.
Agreed he had incredible kicking ability!
Bruce Lee never actually said he would beat anyone in sixty seconds or less. He did say a fight should last a few seconds if you have trained for all the possible line of attacks. Punching range. Kicking range, Grappling range. Etc. 😉
