When I saw this for the first time in a movie theater, I remember how the audience gave this a standing ovation, something that Filipinos audience rarely do for a movie. Every moment made me tear up knowing that what I'm watching are real stories of real people, not of any actors. This movie stuck with me for days.
Grabe yung care and concern nya, you can hear it from her voice as she cries. This proves that our OFWs aren't just giving their time and service to the employers but also their heart and their soul. Such dedication...

I remember watching this on the big screen during its premiere. I remember how we all smiled, laugh and cried in the dark. This is one rare gem in Philippine Cinema that centers on the plight of OFWs in Hong Kong, thriving on just the stories, the hearts within, and the passion to continue dreaming. This movie reeks love. Love for their biological families. Love for people we work for that turns out to be our families too. I hope family members of OFW's realizes what kind of sacrifices they have to endure so just they can provide for them in the PH. I watched this during the MMFF (the only time I ever watched anything during MMFF season) and my sister and I both loved it! I watched it again this morning once I saw that the link was already live and it still made me cry, hahaha. We have many OFWs who give up so much so that their families can get a better chance at life--let's give them the love, respect and dignity that they deserve. A beautiful documentary that I can definitely watch over and over again.
Anyone watching this in the midst of the pandemic in 2021? Grabe iyak ako anunaaaa! Maraming salamat direk Baby Ruth V sa pagkakataon na ma-interview ka sa Great Connections podcast, for sharing your story and the inspiration for this film. And ultimately bringing me to this point -- crying my eyes out under my breath in the middle of the night while watching one of the most incredible real life stories of OFWs abroad ever presented on screen. Roller coaster of emotions, sobra. We honor and recognize your dedication and contributions. God bless you ❤ from Doha with love
An excellent documentary on the plight of our domestic helpers. May our government provide them protection against abuse and exploitation. I do hope that one day, every Filipino will be well compensated in their work in the Philippines rather than leave their families for a better salary abroad. It truly deserves to win the Best Picture award in 2016 MMFF. I hope more MMFF films in the future will be at par with this film in terms of relevance and quality. Maraming Salamat TBA Studios ♥️

My utmost respect to all filipino helpers around the world. Your sacrifices defines the exact meaning of a hero! Keep moving the world and touch lives , and all together you all can unify nations in greater heights!

This docu movies are very timely and it really speaks the reality of what is OFW means. I salute to the maker of this docu movie and this is standing ovation movie for me.
Ang ganda... Grabe.. Good job...
I know this documentary from a video on Never Too Small (tiny "smart" apartment channel). They posted about a 45m2 flat in Hongkong. Things seem fine until they show a "maid room/ laundry" space which is only around 1-2m2 with a washing machine, a closet and a ceiling clothes hanger. Nothing else. No space for a bed. The "room" is not even rectangle, meaning you can't lie down straight anywhere. It's a corner of the balcony to be more exact. I and many people were so confused. Then someone recommended this movie. I watched and I'm torn apart. This is modern slavery and no excuse can be made for this insanely inhumane crime. Thank you so much for not letting this fall silent and for the maids' voices to be heard.
I saw this during its MMF run and it left an impression. When I saw it was uploaded here, I had to watch it again. It still made me cry. I shared it online so that my family and friends will also get the change to see it. Thank you for this. Thank you to our OFWs, truly modern heroes.
I hope that she is having a good and well-lived life here in PH now. Hays I really appreciate this docu man! Ang ganda, ang raw, captivating, and hits you right through the heart!
@@gen-geh2288 salamat ng marami, i hope and pray that we can be all back to normal.I feel really bad for all the people who was affected with this pandemic.Cant wait to be home soon to.
Thank you so much Sunday Beauty Queen for sharing your message to all of us Filipinos here and abroad, even those non-Filipinos who were moved by this film, they will have a change of heart ❤ especially that all of us regardless of race, status and colors are affected by the Covid19 virus. Together, as one human race, we should be helping, loving and taking care of each other!!!
Watched this in the cinema before. Watched it again today. Same effect to me. How I wish they make quality movies/documentaries for MMFF again. MMFF 2016 is the best.
but Filipinos are very sensitive with word Maid. I was attacked by Filipino women abroad and told everyone to hate me. Because of a rumor that i told them they were maids. I later told them that I actually said they were Prostitutes. So they believe and were happy. They just really hated to be called maids.,
Thank you for having this, sobrang naka ka iyak, Lalong mas saludo ako sa mga OFW natin .
Nakakaiyak. 🥺 I'm so lucky that I grew up with my parents. God has plans for all of us. 😩
Nakakaiyak.. an eye opener for us filipinos specially tayong binubuhay ng mga DH at OFW! For their hard work sufferings pain i guess they deserved and loved much more! For all the DH-OFW around the world! Mabuhay po kayo at maging matagumpay sa buhay! Salamat sa nakakaantig na storya! Salamat 😘
I've seen Sunday Beauty Queen (SBQ) on several screenings (MMFF, Ortigas Foundation Library, and Gateway Film Fest). Now, I am watching it again. Beautiful documentary film.
This is one of the very rare artistic creations that I've seen na made with pure heart. I remember watching this sa sinehan and noticing people walking out kasi they're weren't expecting it to be a documentary. Sana mas marami pa makaappreciate at makapanood nito. Everytime I watch it, nagiging grateful ako sa kung ano meron ako at hindi ko kailangan pagdaanan yung pinagdadaanan nila. They truly are our modern heroes. Respect!
I have been to HK and meet with my aunts who are DH there.. I know exactly how this story goes because they shared me their life there during Sundays and even toured me around.. it was a smile in my face to see a lot of Filipinos in Central park gathering and celebrating there.
Respect poh and proud s lhat ng mga ofw poh san man parte ng Mundo..mabuhay poh kayong lht 😍😍😍..tear eyed poh tlg aq ng pinanod q toh..watching hir Malaysia..
A film of immense beauty, helping me to gain further understanding of the Overseas Filipino Worker's (OFW) life in Hong Kong, the benefits and also the unrelenting difficulties.
never heard of this movie sinces based ako sa Tahiland kaya pagka kitako sa youtube ay click ko agad at una pa lang aya napa wow na ko sa kalidad nung shots ng movie so linaw at mukhang mamahalin.... unang iyak pa lang nung isang DH na walang ipapadala sa anak nya ay naantig na puso ko :( Kudos sa gumawa. new subscriber here at watch ko po ung iba u pang gawa at recommend ko sa mga kakilala ko :)
I remember going to Penang, Malaysia and we are at a food court and the server happens to be pinay, fellow bisaya pa! She has not been home for years and it stayed with me how much she hugged my daughter who reminded her of her own back home.. I hope she’s doing well.
My sister's plan was to go to HK as a gateway to Canada. Everything changed when her employer had a second child. She loved him too much, to the point she had forgotten she is getting older too. She is now 43, single and still with the family...the boy is now 18 years old.
That's why, I really salute our OFWs. Thank you for this documentary TBA.
It's such a wonderful documentary💓My mother is also an ofw and this made me realized many things. To those ofw's out there, we are proud of you! -It is actually part of our activity, and worth watching💓😭
This is a great film. Salute to all OFWs out there. No script at all but it gives so much impact to the audience. Always be proud of what makes you live and survive everyday.

❤️💛 Wishing all the best for our fellow Filipinos working in Hong Kong. Mabuhay po kayo !!
Respect to all our ofws. She made me cry when she said “sandali” and started crying. You can see a tough woman going through very hard times, but she still keeps on fighting. Saludo
I long for the day that OFW phenomenon will cease to exist worldwide. I meant that Filipinos will choose to earn a living that compesates them well in their homeland. What a wishful thinking? :)
SALUTE to all the proud Domestic helpers all over the world! You have my outmost respect!! Cherrie gave up her dream to go to Japan for Hayden! The family loves her so much! I hope all DH ate treated like this. Sadly most of these women faces abuse on a daily basis. I really love these kind of movies giving tribute to the unsung heroes of our society!!
Maganda tong film na to.
God Bless at Mabuhay kayong lahat!
We all Filipino's abroad have different stories to tell, different experience. Saang lupalop man tayo sa mundo. The kawang gawa will always be part sa atin. I love it when Daddy Leo said na "We organise beauty pageants for a cause, kaya nila ginagawa ito". kahit hirap din sila bayanihan pa rin ang nasaisip. Laban lang kabayan. Proud of all the pinay warriors abroad. I remember me sending pm kay Mylyn noon i was asking her kung kailan maipapalabas sa Netflix heheehe or kase wala ako sa pinas dahil gustong gusto ko talaga mapanood ang docu. film. Hay salamat at napanood ko na rin ngayon sa wakas and it was all worth it, with panyo pinupunas ang mga luha at sipon ahahahaaha. Congrats sa cast. I am proud to say that i personally meet Mylyn and i call her my friend a true fighter sa buhay. AGAIN BRAVO!!!
Mabuhay kayong lahat!

Ang ganda naman ng documentary na to. Hats off to all pinoy ofw. Mabuhay kayo and God bless.
[SPOILER ALERT]
Sobrang sakit naman ng nangyari kay Mylyn :(. I hope that she is having a good and well-lived life here in PH now.
Hays I really appreciate this docu man! Ang ganda, ang raw, captivating, and hits you right through the heart!
Sameee gusto ko din pong malaman
HI I'm here po, salamat sa panonood.. mylyn here, god is so good!
@@lifewithmylyn679 Hello po! Maganda pong malaman na mabuti po kayo! Ingat po sa pandemya!!
This is a great documentary. Salute to all OFWs sacrificing their lives & leaving their own families to work overseas. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you TBA. One of my fave Cinemalaya film.
Now watching this for our midterms in FEU. A great documentary/story
I'm ashamed that I've only seen this now. This is such a gem. My heart goes out to all OFW's.
The fact that TBA Studios have a TH-cam channel, accessible by the mass, posts free movies, and creates exceptional films, takes me aback.
Watching it right now para sa isang activity sa kursong Panitikang Panlipunan. Mabuhay ang mga OFWs!!!
Docu-Movie
Thank you po.
Thank You, Direk Baby Ruth, Sir Chuck, Team TBA Films for making this is accessible to a wide audience on TH-cam ❤❤❤
Thank you! Congratulations to all! Mabuhay OFW-Hk!
Ito lang ang docu na nagpaiyak sa akin every time i rewatch it. Grabe this inspired me talaga.
Salute you all., . Kayo ay isang tunay na bayani., .
One of the most beautiful documentaries about the plight of Overseas Filipino Workers in Hongkong.
Salamat 😘
salamat po sa napakagandang mensahe niyo
I've seen Sunday Beauty Queen (SBQ) on several screenings (MMFF, Ortigas Foundation Library, and Gateway Film Fest). Now, I am watching it again. Beautiful documentary film.
Grabe napakaganda.
Respect!
Salamat pinalabas niyo to!
Beautiful film. Mabuhay ang bagong bayani ng Pilipinas!
An honest descriptive-narrative of true-to-life events among our OFWs. More films like this. Moving. Enlightening.
This film deserved the award hands down
I have been to HK and meet with my aunts who are DH there..
Woww. Thank you. Never have the chance to watch this during the MMFF run. And now, it's here. Thank yoouuuuu~
same here, thank you for posting this!
Now I know why this film is highly recommended by my friends...... simple and meaningful... malungkot pala ang buhay ng OFW .
Iyak-tawa-iyak sa sinehan noong 2016. Salamat sa pagbahagi ng kwento. :)
A film of immense beauty, helping me to gain further understanding of the Overseas Filipino Worker's (OFW) life in Hong Kong, the benefits and also the unrelenting difficulties.
never heard of this movie sinces based ako sa Tahiland kaya pagka kitako sa youtube ay click ko agad at una pa lang aya napa wow na ko sa kalidad nung shots ng movie so linaw at mukhang mamahalin.... unang iyak pa lang nung isang DH na walang ipapadala sa anak nya ay naantig na puso ko :( Kudos sa gumawa. new subscriber here at watch ko po ung iba u pang gawa at recommend ko sa mga kakilala ko :)
thank you po
I remember going to Penang, Malaysia and we are at a food court and the server happens to be pinay, fellow bisaya pa! She has not been home for years and it stayed with me how much she hugged my daughter who reminded her of her own back home.. I hope she’s doing well.
My sister's plan was to go to HK as a gateway to Canada. Everything changed when her employer had a second child. She loved him too much, to the point she had forgotten she is getting older too. She is now 43, single and still with the family...the boy is now 18 years old.
Thank you for sharing your story. Please send our love to your sister and I wish that she is happy with her choice. God bless you and your family!
ang ganda...
That's why, I really salute our OFWs.
Thank you for this documentary TBA.

Wishing all the best for our fellow Filipinos working in Hong Kong.

Respect to all our ofws. She made me cry when she said “sandali” and started crying. You can see a tough woman going through very hard times, but she still keeps on fighting. Saludo

Amazing content mag kabayan mabuhay Ang mag pilipino.😊🙏
Thank you TBA for making this available!!!
I long for the day that OFW phenomenon will cease to exist worldwide. I meant that Filipinos will choose to earn a living that compesates them well in their homeland. What a wishful thinking? :)
My dream as well.
Mine too
THANK YOU...
some Filipinos work abroad. Because they are just sick of fellow Filipinos.
Grabe yung bawat words tagos e, salute to this women and to TBA! Grabe sobrang husay po. 💜
Maganda tong film na to.
God Bless at Mabuhay kayong lahat!
One of the best heart touching documentary, showing the realities of OFW’s life in HK.
Thank you for this masterpiece. My admiration to all the hardworking OFWs
Sana mas marami pang ganitong di kalidad ang documentary films ang inyong ma produce.GOD BLESS.
Kumusta na po si Mylyn? I hope she’s well dito sa Pinas

Mabuhay kayong lahat!
