- Join us for the very first day of soft opening for a BRAND NEW restaurant at EPCOT - Shiki-Sai Izakaya & Sushi, in August 2023! This new restaurant replaced Tokyo Dining, and is part of the Mitsukoshi lineup of restaurants in the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT's World Showcase. The theming is based around the four seasons in Japan, and we tried several food and drinks to show you, checked out the theming, the unique dining experience, and the WHOLE THING!! It's always about more than just the food, it's about the entire experience, and that's what I'm sharing. The food was fantastic, high quality, large portions, and the atmosphere and service were excellent, I am so excited to share Walt Disney's World's newest restaurant with you - thanks for enjoying Shiki-Sai with me!

As a sushi novice I really love that they have so many photos of the food on the menu

Really pretty restaurant
Oh Jackie, this brings back great memories. The very first Super Enthused vlog I ever saw was you at this restaurant when it was a sushi bar, and it had just reopened from lockdown. My husband was watching it and it caught my attention. I have been an “enthusiastic” Super Enthused fan ever since. Thank you for taking me along for the ride!!!

Those skewers are actually a take on Yakitori which is grilled chicken but evolved to include different meats and vegetables. Honestly they are sauced already as they have slight sheen reflecting light. It’s still really good. Just there are so many different kinds that you kinds should know what you’re ordering. Vegetable yakitori usually is just salt. Peppers though rarely used are basically roasted to get their flavor out and it’s always a hit if done correctly. Certain peppers in the Japanese cuisine are unique as they have a regular bell pepper taste that is slightly amplified but one in every five or so are deceptively hot as they look normal but inside is hot as a habanero and you absolutely can’t tell which will be hot and sweet.
Looks like my fav ramen shop. This company deserves Customers. If they put a ride into this country it would easily be the best in Epcot.
That menu is not going to last. The wdw guests will demand a hamburger. Go now. What a fantastic room.

It looked incredible!
Izakaya is actually a Japanese pub/bar basically you order from the wall as signage of what they have is posted. The prices are underneath those signs or it’s at a single price. That or an iPad depending on who is running it. The drink menu is extensive though and often that menu is like a tome of just alcohol. Businesspeople and workers often stop in after shifts to talk with people and grab food before going home. It’s kinda fun talking about nothing and whiling away an couple of hours. It’s counted as one of the free spaces of Japan where any talk is freely given as the workplace and home people have to be restrained in their speech. The other is the bathhouse as people talk about things. Another is the onsen aka hot spring.
I love the sense of zen that seemed to appear in every aspect of the restaurant. The food looked delicious and I agree there is a sense of healing to a broth of any kind. That was great how the servers greeted you and said goodbye.

Hi there, I liked the new restaurant with Tetsu, the server at EPCOT. The sushi looked lovely. Good to see Walt Disney World is still an awesome place for many people to visit and is always evolving in new ways.

Hi Jackie that was a really wonderful trip out to the Japanese restaurant 🇯🇵 in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot ,, the sushi 🍣 🍛🍱looks so good and I hear they serve special tea 🍵 that sounds super fun ☺️,, the seafood 🦞looks super nice ❤❤ definitely a perfect choice to dine,, the main course looks super nice with the noodles 🍜

Thanks Jackie… this restaurant looks delicious and beautiful and I like how they educate everyone on the tradition and explain how things should be eaten. I love that they give you a wipe to clean your hands with at the beginning of the meal. Very nice touch. I like sushi. I’m not into eel but your sushi did look really good and so did the shrimp/ chicken dish! Oh and the Veggie soup too!😋Thanks for another great video and for thorough explanation of tastes, feels and the sites. All the good things that you do.🎉❤

Love this video Jackie!! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful inside. The ceiling is beautiful with the gold and artwork in it!! I love the pictures on the wall, and how it moves to a different scenery in the picture!! I love that there is a big stairway going into the restaurant!! so glad you had a great experience there and liked the food! The food did look really good. I was so sad that Tokyo Dining was "under refurb" for my upcoming October 2023 trip because it's the restaurant we ate at the night of my Epcot Japan wedding in 2017 and now we always go when we visit! What an amazing (and delicious) surprise! 😍 As much as we love Japanese food, the Japan pavilion is likely the pavilion that we’ve explored the _least_ across our many different visits to EPCOT - we didn’t even realize that we were down a table service restaurant in this corner of the world until now! Shiki-Sai definitely looks like a knockout addition. Tetsu was a riot. No soy sauce! 😂 Love that you were able to leave your wishes for the grand opening on the little tag. And those skewers looked incredible…you can never go wrong with chicken at a Japanese restaurant 😁 The creamsicle drink looked pretty great too, and what a cool coaster! Can’t wait to try this place out someday! Thanks for sharing, Jackie ✨
oh yea you guys gotta explore that pavilion more, there’s so much at EPCOT and it’s hard to see it all. But it’s my fave pavilion. 💕
Tetsu was so awesome!! I was purposely not filming him at first because I always want to be respectful to cast members and not film without asking, but he totally volunteered and was so open and kind about being in the video, without me even asking! It makes me so happy to be able to show how awesome he and the rest of the cast are and to share a more full experience. The team there are a huge part of the experience! 💕💕💕
