Man, you really talked a lot big shit mate. Next time, instead of just talking while video your engine bay, actually show how to fix the problem. I bet there wasn't a problem in the first place. You just wanted to create a video and get count's on views. People who does that, like you have, has made this TH-cam platform to be discredited. Can you trouble shoot it next time with all the potential problems you stated ? It would make for a better and more helpful video if you made the fix or change to the parts that may be the cause . It would help those who want to fix it themselves , much easier . I appreciate your knowledge but it’s not a very helpful tutorial
I had an issue with my 2012 captiva and come to find out after being "stranded" several times after turning it off, like getting gas, and the thing would NOT start for anywhere from 15-30 minutes but then would start. Had to have the battery cable ASSEMBLY replaced. Not just the battery cables but the entire assembly that snakes throughout the motor. It had several rubbed spots and would ground out and overheat the cable. We diagnosed it by touching the battery terminal during one of these stranded times and the thing practically took off my husbands fingerprints because it was so hot. DANGEROUS to say the least. I haven't had one of these issues since replacing the assembly. Not sure if this is your issue but Hope this helps.
There's a hole near the automatic lever, a hole above the button that labelled WINTER. Stick your key into that hole and move the gear lever to neutral than start your car. I had the same problem and now it start only when I have the gear in neutral.

Check the wiring to the starter motor they tend to rub under the car and burn out
