Speaking of Legendary teamups, my jaw hit the floor when I was watching Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger and they did a whole episode where a time paradox made it so the American Power Rangers were the original Super Sentai and Japan copied them. They even give the Red and Green Ranger cute little american flag belts!
Power Rangers will always be my favorite franchise no matter what! And I’m so happy to finally be making my journey through the history of Super Sentai to really appreciate all aspects of my favorite tokusatsu

I have 2 ideas for future videos MinBari. The ideas are: "What Makes a Good Superhero Suit Design" and "Dark Truths About the Power Rangers (Mainly in the Fictional world of the Power Rangers)."
I think this video was quite fun, but I was hoping that you would get to talk more directly about the Power Rangers universe instead of mostly using it as a framing device to make the video more about the concept of a share universe. Mostly this comes from how much of a mess I think the Power Rangers continuity is outside of direct follow ups like the first few Zordon era series (although, the comics do help stablish some sense into whatever the hell the shows struggle to do) and it would have been an interesting topic because of how....extremely different this problem is with the original Sentai, which actually almost always take into account continuity in all the prior series or the ones they are crossing over with

3:57 this section is KINDA true MARVEL pretty much just planned to do an Avengers movie but even then a long-term story wasn't in mind at the time. Thanos was just thrown in the Avenger's Post Credits scene by Joss for the sake of it, and even back in Iron Man they weren't even shooting with a script half the time and weren't even sure if they were gonna include the X-Men and Spider-Man in the MCU at that time.
I'm glad Hasbro is taking PR seriously and not abusing it like the previous owners. They have big plans for PR to create a movie verse like the MCU. They found a leader like Kevin Feige already and they are planning to make it big.

I would argue that the DCAU also beat the MCU to the punch of a large shared universe embracing long form storytelling...and generally displayed more consistent quality than Marvel as well.

The "A Friend in Need" three-parter, really ruined the PR/Masked Rider crossover, and we waited for 17 years, for a more competent crossover as a theatrical release.

If you really want to get technical, marvel and DC been doing multiverses for decades now through the comics. They predate Power Rangers and even Super Sentai! But not alot people follows the comics. That said, you are right. Power Rangers established a connective multiverse way before the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the DCEU did. Even as early as Mighty Morphin and Time Force, PR had (at least hinted) to multiple different timelines, dimensions, etc. We also had team crossovers as early as In Space. If we want to get technical, the MCU FIRST mentioned of a "multiverse" was in 2016 Dr. Strange. Phase 4 is the era in which they brought forth the multiverse, introduce it officially, and started doing stuff with the multiverse. PR TECHNICALLY established a multiverse since RPM since it was confirmed RPM is another separate universe. The comics are also technically canon through the multiverse, just a different reality from the tv shows. The comics does well expanding on alot things for PR such as the Morphin Grid, the cosmology, the hierarchy of power, etc.

Not to mention the billions of continuity errors and disregard for any consistency. And I never said every season needed to connect with the last. I'm saying that they shouldn't make the seasons share a universe if they aren't gonna do anything with the idea.

They just kept insisting that every season was canon with no intention to do anything with the idea. RPM and Dino Charge arent canon but that as only cuz thy were retconned out of the main continuity. The MCU has holes in continuity but they weren't a result of sheer incompetence like PR. It made an effort to be as consistent as possible(until phase 4 that is). Noone ever brings up terra venture post LG despite how big of a deal that should be for humanity. The newer seasons suck at continuity too. Most of the references and connections now are just cheap fanservice (ranger vault, clip shows of past seasons, zedds return etc.) There's some good parts like the evox twist but they're very few

5:00 Ninja Storm was supposed to be a soft reboot due to the change from US to New Zealand and as such in-universe the Power Rangers were considered urban legends at that point.

Ninja Storm considered the past Rangers urban legends until Dino Thunder came along, with Tommy having journal records for all Ranger teams from Mighty Morphin to Ninja Storm.
