    Description :
    An eagle was put in an unenvious situation. After failing his attack: he earned the wrath of a white rooster. Wounded and unable to take off, he was subject to pure fury. The rooster spurred him as he desperately flapped for escape. He was nothing but a floor wiper, in the absolute disposal of the flightless bird!

      @fefek1 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@teamginger9134 Is that why the eagles wings looked really weird in the first clip? Though, I really don't think someone could've thrown them since the chicken would've obviously seen the eagle and wouldn't have been so calm prior to their arrival

    • @teamginger9134
      @teamginger9134 ปีที่แล้ว +80

      @@fefek1 Allow me to expand.
      If i consider the hunting characteristics of raptors(birds of prey), there are at minimum a dozen basic categories in the way they hunt. For instance, harriers hover or glide low and slow over grasslands, weaving about before barrel rolling into and attacking prey. Falcons will perch or soar, observing from a distance before going into a stoop using the advantage of speed in attack. Eagles do it differently and so on.
      I'll note problems in the totally obvious clip starting at 8 seconds. Set youtube playback speed to slow. 1. This in not wildlife videographer footage with typical long focal zoom lens, but just some joe participating in a staged video at regualar joe camera man perspective, with regular joe wide angle lens which means the camera was 10-15 feet away. 2. for a split second we see a hen and chicks in a curious but not alarmed state, typical of how she would act around the humans she sees day to day, perhaps anticipating getting fed. 3. all of a sudden, we see not an eagle but a hawk just drop into the picture, eagle or hawks don't just drop in next to videographers like that! 4. The hawk behavior at the instant of landing is exactly what a captive hawk would display, if you could read that hawks mind, it would be thinking, "oh, i guess i am getting some time away from the coop" then "Whoa, what's up with the hen"? Where did she come from? "ah, crap, she crazy! Help me out here, i can't fly my wings are clipped"! That hawks wings would be more than twice as long if they were not clipped as primary feathers are long. 5. Hawks don't have clipped wings in the wild, but it is common where people will keep them as pets so they don't fly away. It is notable that the wings are clipped in the most common way, where only the primary feathers are clipped as primaries do most of the work when flying. 6. Note the absence of chicken warning language by the hen. All varieties of chickens are alert especially when they have chicks, can move eyes independently and see almost 360 degrees. A hen, with view of the open sky is not going to be silent with a large bird overhead, period!
      Now note the clip starting at 33 seconds. That is real security camera footage. What you see is classic Coopers hawk behavior, swoop in low, sly, quickly calculates how to get past the chicken wire. Also you see a not so rare response by the chickens, then the hawk aborts once it realizes it can't win. But do not think that the hawk has given up on chickens, not one bit, he won't hesitate to make that same attack again. Coopers hawk has earned the nickname chicken hawk, that hawk is not wary of houses, barns or even urban areas.
      buzzbible needs to change the title of the video to "we clipped the wings on some hawks, tossed them at hens with chicks and the outcome was predictable" ...!!

      Anyone who has ever felt a rooster spur penetrate will attest to that. The energy is so focused onto a small point, there is the feeling of blunt trauma but very quickly followed by the throbbing pain of a puncture wound. And they can even get you more than once in a single leap, using their spurs like a burst of machine gun fire. They aren't messing around, they have some respectable weapons and they know how to use them. I even once got a nasty bruise on my foot when a rooster spurred through the side of my tennis shoe and sock, poor rooster broke his spur off in that attack unfortunately. If they hit anywhere there is bone it's especially painful.

Step towards them and stand tall, make yourself bigger by spreading your arms out, make noise, and they _usually_ back off. Never, indeed! As a first-time Mom, I found out there are no limits on what you'll do to protect your young...something I'd never, ever do in any other situation.
      I had my 11 month old in baby-seat behind me on my bike. We got down to the dead end road when a German Shepherd and a Doberman came hauling ass toward us and barking like crazy.
      I didn't think about anything. No plan. I just found myself on autopilot, rapidly jumping from bike, laying it down completely on its side with baby belted in her seat. I ran as fast as I could towards both dogs...anything to get in between those two and my baby. They both got the shock of their lives when they saw this lunatic woman running towards them and yelling her lungs out. They stopped in their tracks, not knowing what to do next when the owner immediately came outside to call them.
      Did I ever cuss her out. Two aggressive dogs outside with no leash nor a fence? Right away, I found my knees had buckled and I was down. The amount of adrenaline it took for me to act that fast (and with fearless fury), I can't imagine. Cuz when it was spent, I had nothing left. It was all primal action. I was so amazed that 36 years later, I still cannot recall it like this without re-living that fearlessness you don’t even know can come out. Ha!! 😱 😂

    I seen this first hand one day, while working at the Horse pasture.
    A neighbor's Free range chicken's easily found their way thru the fence separating the properties, and were doing what chicken's do !
    There were several hen's, and a Rooster scattered around, when overhead a Hawk's shadow seemingly caught the eye of the Rooster !
    To which he began giving commands, and gathering up the hens by running to and fro, until he had them gathered under a bush that had grown up thru the fence line !
    The Hawk, after flying several patterns over the area, finally landed on a power line a short distance away from the bush.
    I'm guessing this was not his first encounter with a protective Rooster, as watching from above is all he did, never challenging the Rooster, or the hens !
    After a period of time, the Hawk took flight, and left the area, to which the Rooster took advantage, and herded the girls back across the fence and nearer to their coup !
    Fascinating to watch Nature first hand !
    Never thought to try to video the event !
    But the memory is one that will stay with me !

      No mate, this video was very misleading. Those "eagles" were hawks, which weigh only 2-3 pounds. And despite being a fraction of their size, hawks kill roosters all the time. Eagles are 3-4x larger than hawks are, so no, chickens wouldn't stand much of a chance against one of them

      @Son Of Rabat I have never seen any hen with a comb fluff out their ruff and attack the way many of these chickens are shown doing. Haven't seen every hen/chicken breed on earth so I certainly could be wrong but I suspect all of the birds with puffed ruffs and visible combs were roosters. And roosters don't defend chicks exactly they are just highly aggressive and territorial. Still cool though

    • @user-qu6ij5sl1v

      @Son Of Rabat They functionally defend chicks but I was referring to their disposition/habits. It doesn't seem like they are any less aggressive if there are no chicks/eggs/even hens around. They just claim a spot and charge chaotic/unusual movement in that spot.
      I bet you if a lone rooster saw a dead tree branch fall into his immediate vicinity he would attack that. Come to think of it I'm sure I've seen more aggressive roosters attack inanimate objects although the roosters in question had hens. But my point is they are just aggressive no matter what
