Wow, those are some great sounds. I was surprised what the reverb could reveal; it was almost like a blanket coming off of the sound when you enabled it. Very nice. I think some of these sounds can be achieved in other ways, but maybe this is a pretty simple way that also offers some avenues for experimentation. Thanks.
@@DSWL_ you should reread the comment. I think you might have missed the point I was making. I'm not referring to Dash as the influencer in my comment 🙂
Independent of Vital: Nice mindset to have! Helps against "shiney object syndrome" and makes you think about how the sound came to be and how it could be created with the things you already have - so you learn (how) to apply them in this manner. When I see a new effect plugin I *always* try to understand how it does its job (often EQ, Waveshaping, Convolution/Cabinetting and Delay) - and only when I know for sure that I can't recreate it I start thinking about if I actually need it (or if there exists something better, I should save for instead).
Amazing! Thanks, I was looking for ways to recreate the otherworldly sound effects from early 80s tv series Doctor Who. And this certainly fits the bill! Big thanks!!
6:26 YES!!! This sounds somewhat similar to sounds, I'm used to hearing from Simon Posford and such (e.g. the intro of the legendary classic "Hallucinogen - LSD" comes to mind). I've always been wondering what the trick behind that sort of sound was. Thanks for your content .. Great stuff, as always :)
It gets even cooler if you change the unison stack although some algos are hard to dial in because it gets really odd. You can get good results with loading a textured sample then going FM from sample into a sine wavetable and applying this weird harmonic behavior. It's better for atmosphere stuff than clean lead stuff obviously.
i actually kinda wish the unison spread settings were more expanded. Being able to control each unison voice independently like in Sytrus would make possible to create something akin to actual ensemble-like unison. Having said that, still helps make it more natural to have these settings, vital for president
I played around with the advanced features a little bit and I am really impressed that Vital offers a well intuitivity in terms of modulation aspects, where as in Serum these options are very more deeply hidden in the interface. One thing I couldn't really detect, is why the reverb modulation just sucks so hard. The parameters inmho aren't really helpful when desinging sound inside this synthesizer, because it turns out, that the reverb tails, always rail off too long and mock up my sound, even in when I try to create presets in indirect "mono". Maybe you've got an idea or workaround that instead of working with a channel reverb?
Dash, did you see Lisa Bella Donna's new vid. I really liked the Behringer 2600, after watching it :). Many good reviews as well, not for me to buy, but for you guys to buy! :D :D. I only like watching someone use things like that hahahahha...
@@DashGlitch Yes I know. Of course I don’t want anyone to buy anything. I am just chatting… No real intention. I don’t even know the product, and the video is about a software as well. Cheers! Looking forward to modular streams.
Yes and no, Yes to the wavetable position, no to the spectral effects as those are unique to vital, although I'm sure other similar things can be done with filters etc

Love the teleporting dog in the background... :D
he's faster than the frame rate of the camera when he gets zoomies xD
@@DashGlitch Hahahahahahah
Wooohhhh at the 7:25 mark, you really nail it with the filter effect.
You are such a goddamn wizard, always. So great to see new videos - you never cease to blow my mind going deep on Vital ✨🤘
Great video! I made it through "Vital top 50" last year, but this was a nice reminder of one of the less intuitive features!
Everytime I get GASed by an influencer on TH-cam, I take a moment and ask myself, "Wait, doesn't Vital do that?" The answer is almost always, 'Yes!" 😁
Almost always yea :)
congrats on being an "influencer" Dash 😆👍

Great video!
always revealing all these nice hidden secrets makes me feel.... äh... thnx for showing this neat trick : )
definitely the best channel on Vital! such a complex tool to master, but with a gazillions of possibilities
Thanks for watching!
this is one of my favorite features in vital
wish it was in current
this IS in Bitwig grid though, you can do this for EVERYTHING in the grid
Well not really the spectral effects but yes voice stack can get you similar results
@@DashGlitch I don't believe there's any spectral effects in the grid
Thankyou for doing gods work! i love vital
Thank you for watching!
great tip ill definitely try this. thank you
Nice tip! 👏🏻
Fuckkk now I know how to make those epic glassy sounds from Orestis - Center of experience
very cool sounds reminded me of drexciya a bit
5:10 I had to rewind this because I thought you said "it's actually a sickbay sound". I think I watch too much Star Trek 😂
LOL
I've always wondered what those were. Now I know. Thanks!
Happy to help!
@0:40 sounds exectly like a Waldorf microwave 2
perhaps that's where the wavetable was derived, not sure though but the waldorf MW was one of the original wavetable synths

Great idea thanks!
Fun fact: you can automate the voice amount! Great for arps if you set a lot of detune, i use it for colour bass
Good tip!
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
I don't know whether to make MUSIC or look for a house
😆😆😆😆😆
make HOUSE MUSIC xD sorry I had to
You have a new dog !!
They just have new jerseys on, same old stinkers haha
wow, amazing

Yea i dont like that the onky option you have for the voices is to have them nearer or farther apart from each other

are table spread, spectral spread, and distortion spread hidden in serum?
Serum just has the table spread, it doesn't have the spectral effects.
brilliant
Thank you!

Yea it seems nice but I’m not interested in behringer stuff, there are plenty of more ethical replicas that already exist.

Epic!🔥
Thanks!
never seen this feature before, is that unique to Vital? great vid, thanks
Kinda, Serum has something like it but just for the wavetable position IIRC
nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Could a similar effect/workflow theoretically be achieved by using voice spread in Bitwig?
Yes and no, Yes to the wavetable position, no to the spectral effects as those are unique to vital, although I'm sure other similar things can be done with filters etc

I don't know it finished the premiere here on my side, perhaps try refresh, sorry about that
@@DashGlitch will do
