That Merc is off the hook! Making it a convertible was spot on, I might have to steal a page from your play book when I bust into one =D I really don't know of any paint that likes humidity, that's just the nature of the beast. I know the feeling, when a build fights you every step of the way or your undecided which direction you want to go, you can easily burn yourself out on the project. You did the right thing, that a couple weeks off, then start back with something that speaks to you, the problem child will eventually start behaving and you can continue work on it =D
Man that Merc looks sweet. I know how you feel about building. Some times you just have to put a project aside until the feeling is right to finish it.
Good to see you brother. We all get burned out, I just went through it for a couple months myself. The Merc looks killer, I'd leave it how it is. You'll find the balance and be back to building more. I know work is crazy busy for me too. Best of luck bro. Take care Boonski
Glad to see you're back at the branch and them dupli color paints are a bear in the humidity but I still like them I hope to see that 49 merc finished it looks awesome
Burn outs are normal, buddy. And so are the blahs. I get them all the time. The only remedy I know that brings me back is the eye candy others produce, but also reading and watching movies. Maybe going to a real car show, etc . . . OH MAN, that is one beautiful paint job. I say leave it without the top. This way people can enjoy the interior. Great job, and thanks for sharing the candy.
If you're not feelin' it don't force it. It'll come back to you. If you push through and you're not really into it, thats when mistakes happen or you end up with something that you're just not happy with. When the models start talking to you and letting you know that they're ready to be built, you'll both be happier. Have a good one.
Hey BIG Buddy that merc is awesome brother love the color choice very nice and for trying some paint in the house you try the wicked color at hobby lobby for practice and one bottle will paint bout 3 car's I will try sending you a PM buddy take care my friend
wicked 49 , i also had the problem on the duplicolor i sprayed on the dutsun minitruck project fogged & ghosted , so i had to wait later on in the day after it cooled down then hit it again then low heat with hair dryer came out better 2coat ,
That Merc looks hot! Don't worry about loosing your mojo. Happens to me! Every once in a while I'll have a week or two where I just loose it. You'll get back into the swing of things.
that is one great looking build, and I know what you mean by the blahs but putting them away for another time doesn't mean there are put away for good.
Man that thing looks Wicked as a topless!! As everyone is saying for sure that a funk out is normal.. However my thought is have you ever tried an Armor Kit like a tank or something? Sometimes you can get yourself perked up by doing something out of the ordinary.. Just a thought. Joe
