I'm surprised you didn't bring up the size discrepancy of the Richat. That to me is the most glaring difference if one is to take Plato's account seriously. It surprised me on the JRE podcast where the guy proposing the Richat just handwaved the measurements given by Plato as unimportant or lost in translation, but then talked endlessly about other details as if they can be taken literally.
The Azores makes the most sense to me as a possible location. One thing to note, when considering the "Greater than Lybia and Asia combined" line, could "greater" possibly mean mightier or stronger?
I think the "boundless continent" line is very telling as well. Keep going past the Azores, and you get to the Americas. America is boundless in the sense that there are no natural barriers inhibiting travel north, south, or west. While Appalachia and the Rockies are tough to pass through, they're not nearly as much of a barrier as the Sahara.

Thanks for your comments!! Yeah, Randall has pointed that out too about the size difference.
Yes, perhaps the dialogues did mean greater as in mightier. Plus no one knows what the exact sizes were of those areas referred to at the time.
To me the Richat is basically already in Libya, so why compare it to an area that it is resting in, and how was that area an island? Because in needs to be an island with the capital city located within it.
So, what that calls for is the theory that Northwest Africa was once an Island. If this was the case I'd like to see where and how it was, and why was it necessary to go in the mouth of the Mediterranean to wage your war when you could have attacked from the south?
The Attackers came forth out of the Atlantic in Jowett's translation... and the Attackers came from a distant point in the Atlantic in the Bury Translation.
I agree the best fit for what is described in the dialogues is that the Azore's is the spot for the capital, somewhere along the Mid-Atlantic ridge from there you hit more islands and then the opposite continent which was definitely boundless.
