Thanks to everyone for the support this year, this will be my final video of the year and next year it will be back to 2 videos a month for a while. Have a great Christmas everyone.
When I saw the thumbnail I instantly thought to myself "someone is going to get spanked". Then when your alt (Deadpool) asked to be spanked I nearly spat out my coffee. Excellent video Onur. Here's hoping you and your loved ones have a safe and happy holiday season. ❄⛄💖💖💖 And thanks for the giggles at the end...it's my favorite part and then there is the senseless maiming of innocent fluid filled receptacles and fruit type products. 😜
Hey I remember a couple months ago recommending you make a cool and unique African sword called an Ikakalaka. Would you still be willing to make such a weapon?
Love the Aztec stuff. Simple. Light. Effective. I keep a 1” black iron pipe with an elbow and plug on one end, and sharpened forty five degree cut on the other end. Simple, effective and cheaper that a gun.
Strange I never realized the original weapon is basically a cricket bat with pointy bits. Shrugs. The main drawback of the original was that the Aztecs didn't work metal for weapons for the most part, though they did for ornamentation. Mostly soft metals like gold and silver, though they did have copper. Instead they used obsidian on their weapons. Basically glass, so sharp but tended to break. In the target
@@DiesInEveryFilm Yeah I just thought the similarities were interesting. Was a history major in college and did a lot of Native American and Latin American. Kudos for the interesting choice. (Ever since I saw Shawn of the Dead, I've thought a cricket bat was better than a baseball bat lol)
Dude I wouldn't want broken glass inside me. Aztec warriors tried to take live prisoners as that way meat didn't go bad . Like Thomy Chong said if it's big enough they run away when they see it . Corsican brothers 😋.
Not only was it a great modernization of a truly historic weapon, but you made it fucking gorgeous as well!! Happy Christmas, looking forward to the new year and will try to survive on the new schedule... LOL. Honestly, I am glad you will still be making these, it's a true pleasure to watch a craftsman at work.
Cheers man i really enjoy trying to make these things look good as well as functional. Have a great Christmas, hopefully the new years gunna bring you good fortune
9:27 I was genuinely concerned about where this was going with the events leading up to it but I legit burst out laughing when it was just the weapon 😂
I want to make a macuahuitl so badly. I've seen it done with saw blades, razors, and obsidian. I've got some blade steel that I can cut and sharpen into blades, pin them between some good red oak, some wood burning for decoration.
Whatever that wood is, is an absolute tank, there's no way that thing is breaking. Honestly, the gluing was some of the most satisfying parts of the video. Watching white glue coming out of holes reminds me of something though XD
Thats the most wicked looking discipline paddle I've ever seen. That should be the weapon of a next marvel superhero, or maybe even a villain. Either way its freakin awesome.
A good one again! Surprised at how effective for how "simple" the basic design is. I was waiting for your wife to laugh. Glad that was in the outtakes.
The Maya & Aztec's had a version , with volcanic glass edges / obsidian , & similar in shape & length to a cricket bat !!! The Spanish conquistadors were scared to death of these stone aged swords & knew that they could be used to hack up & completely disassemble a pig , a horse , & even a human body !!! Even with the Blunderbuss , modern steel swords of that time & armor , they were still vulnerable to this weapon !!!
Way to go DIEF-C! You keep coming up with new interpretations of historic weapons no one knew anything about. Could you possibly give us just a bit of historical background narrative on the original’s origins and usage? I know you hate to speak more than absolutely necessary, but it would add value to the video, I believe. Merry Christmas and happy New Year’s to you and your lady!
in Sweden in the 90s there was a coffee commercial with the slogan "what would you offer if you had an unexpected visitor?" I think I have found the answer.
Onur, Looks like you and your wife found a new toy for the bedroom! Just remember the safe word! Lol another great and devastating build, thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and your family.
Man, you make this stuff look effortless. Another snazzy piece, too. I especially like what you did with the pommel cap and across the top, there. You got me wanting to make something like this myself, after this and the chainsaw-bladed sword you did a few weeks back. ... OK, and again your outro has gotten me to aspirate my beverage. Thanks for all the great vids this year, dude! Happy holidays and I'll catch ya on the other side!
Cheers dude, always trying to make things look better and add something a little different to my builds to make them fun to watch. Hope you had a great Christmas
I love the pommel, very ornate - was that a stone, tile, or resin that you used in the pommel with the brass plate? Awesome colors. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! Can't wait to see what you come up with in 2023!!
What a brilliant beauty! Think how rough the Aztecs and Mayans could have been with access to electricity. Another epic creation with great details. Loved that turquoise micarta on the tail end. Great out takes! 🤣 Thank you for another year of incredible weapons. Happy Christmas and enjoy your time off with your wife. You and your videos are very much appreciated. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love the classic feel of the weapon, down to its teeth. However, a thought occurred to me. I’ve seen the chain katana and sword, plus the deadblow weapons, and I had an idea. This weapon and the chain weapons would be monstrous with a deadblow version, because the added force of the weight shifting adds more bite to the teeth of these weapons. Matter of fact, the weapon in this video might have potential to be an even scarier deadblow weapon. If you were to make a hollow metal version with larger ball bearings, teeth on the outside, there’d be so much bite force in them teeth with each swing. Sure there’s more weight shifting around, but the force dump when the blow connects would be absolutely devastating!
Now that is an awesome looking weapon and thanks for all you have done for us viewers, Happy Holidays to you and the family! Oh yea those outtakes were fantastic, I know my wife would beat me senseless if I tried something like that :)
i really like this one, but the previous one with the handmade decals was better because of that, for functionality this one might be better and slighty easier to make :D
😳 merry christmas guys. And have a great spanking holyday. P.S. every time you make a new version of the this distopical weapons Im intrigued on how or where did you get tour ideas. 👀🤷♂️👋🏻🤘🏻

Thanks very much mate
That is an absolute brutal beauty of a deadly toy, keep on the building mate 👊
Thanks, will do!
I have seen them made with glass shards along the edges as well (well obsidian, not glass).
I’ve done one of those too
Well done!
Merry Christmas to you and God bless you.

Well these were way before cricket so id say cricket copied.
Yes obsidian does break but it leaves a sharp edge so its designed to

I thought they used shark teeth too 🤷♂️ or is that a recent add-on?
@@Juber777 if the sharks don't need them anymore why not? Use of shark teeth is what probably inspired sandworm tooth knives of Dune books 🤔.

As others have noted, the originals were edged with obsidian flakes, sharper than razor blades. They were said to be capable of beheading a horse.
Title says “modern” for a reason, i used obsidian on my original version
That came out bad ass
