A polyester blend or full poly is going to last longer than cotton and will not shrink anywhere close to what cotton does. It is also very fade resistant. This is the reason premium clothing is using a high poly blend over more cotton. Cotton doesn’t last long in a number of ways which is why the essentials line uses it. When you’re passing your size less than bought, faded, nappy essentials hoodie down to your lil cousin, that adidas hoodie gone still look new. Now rather it that matters is personal preference.
Yea “premium” clothing might be using plastic to make clothes, but actually nice clothing for the most part won’t touch the stuff. Come talk to me when huntsman on Savile row is using polyester to make suits

They certainly have 100% cotton garments as you mentions as well. They also prefer to use wool instead of cotton on heavier garments. wool and cotton share common traits.. great material but they do not last without proper (expensive) care. A 100% cotton shirt that’s 280 bucks is the same as a $80 essentials cotton shirt.. it will degrade with each wash and if you put it in the dryer on any heat setting, it will no longer fit lol. Huntsman is for people who don’t mind paying dry cleaners, hand washing, or delicate cycles and flat air drying. I know cause I have several huntsman dress shirts. I also have several polyester blend shirts that I don’t have to do any of that stuff with and they look just as good as my huntsman shirts from a material stand point. As with any quality brand name, the cost doesn’t stop at the register if you want the garment to last.
