As a medium level beginner in Solidworks I have these comments. Dassault, your tutorials once were very useful. Didn't you check this turkey's video? except for his hesitation, poor accent and saying 'we don't need this' then adding it anyway his video, would be something I could follow. OKAY? (Please teach this guy to stop repeating"okay?" Your audience here speaks English. At least teach your people to speak it unaccented or add English subtitles. Finally at 11 minutes I lost him completely. I do intend to rest and pick up where I became confused since with all its flaws it is by far the best quality gear tutorial on TH-cam.
@@davids9027 sorry for my accent. English is maybe my third language. Typing and speaking is a complete different thing. I have stopped making new videos for long time. Apologies mate.
Amazing Video, I m always pleased with such Quality Content. Thank you for Showing us the proper method of gear design. i would like to learn Force analysis also of this gear if possible. WIth all respect thank you once again for such great content. Please share your technical knowledge and help other Passionate peoples like me to grow their knowledge ....
Dear Sir, Like to clear in your video that in your Equations you said for "Clearance that = "CircularPitch / 20 In that equation '20' is a Standard figure or '20 is an other value like Nos. Of teeth or '20' is pressure Angle...??? Please reply me to clear such things 😊🙏🏻
I just want to know that in the end of video you just added different formula in equations for 'Circular Pitch Angle' (CPA) . Extra 4 added in the bottom side during division.
Plz try to engage these two similar gears apart by center distance in assembly the design will correct if adequate backlash provides otherwise it require to revise the profile curve
Sir what will be the value of Arc Radius - to draw the teeth profile -- you have taken an arbitrary value -- (visuals form 13.00 onwards) -- the arc can be of any radius. Sir, again i am working with Solid Edge St10 -- there is no Coincident command. please guide.
I have created a center point arc from the tangent intersection on the point. In case you can't use coincident, please create a line segment from the point of circle intersection with tangent and the point on which I created the arc coincidence relation. Now measure the line dimension. You can also use dimension tool to measure minimum distance between those points to measure the radius. it's not arbitrary. I used relations to define it. Now when you have measured the dimension, use it create a circle of the particular radius and then trim it. The main reason I didn't used dimensional value is because this whole design is driven by equation parameters. In case you used a dimension, it will overdefine when values for the equation parameters are changed. In case you are not designing it for equation change, then I would prefer you to use dimension. One alternate method you can do is, When you create a line between those two points. create a perpendicular line to the same line, so that it will be like a T. Now the second perpendicular line can be used to create a tangent relation for the arc. I highly recommend you use this method in case you can't create coincident relaiton.
So far it is worked for a lot of parameters it has worked. It won't work if we take arbitrary which are not possible. Also there might be some need to adjust features (Like fillet) as they can fail when the gear size is too small. I hope this answers your query. :)
@@CADGill I have found out one solution for this, for 20 degree pressure angle only we can do 41 teeth’s and for upto 77 teeth’s if we change the pressure angle to 14.5 degree then we can achieve without rebuilding
This is a robust solid model. It easily changes to 10 teeth, M0.5. Well done.
VERY INFORMATIVE .... THS WILL GREATLY HELP ME WITH APPROACH.GOD BLESS YOU

Hello sir,
nice turtorial! But what if you have a "profile shift factor" ? How do you incorporate it it the equations?

Thank you so much for your lecture sir. Greetings from S.Korea
:D South Korea. I love Korea. :) So much to learn from you people. Stay safe and carry on with learning :)
very comprehensive. Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing
Thank u ... really helpfull to grow up my design knowledge ..
I am glad it helped you.
Awesome video with clear explanation thank you sir
very useful, great video, thank you!!

Brilliant tutorial, thank you and explanation superb
Welcome Jayesh Bhai. :)
very helpful video. im new in solidworks can u help to resize the gear? Maybe fast tutoriol video? Because i dont know how to do it :)
for example if i need 20 teeth 600mm gear how to resize it
this is so great dude!!!!
thank u
Great work there

Thank you sir...keep making this type of video...
@anish for now I have taken a break but going to start soon. if you have any idea pls let me know. :)
correct me if I'm wrong but should'nt the top of the gear teeth be able to mate with the root circle of the gear it is driving??
Thank you so much !!! I was really helpful.
Wonderfull
Thank you so much!!
Brilliant tutorial, thank you !
Thanks
do you have a way to make a rack and pinion equation driven in this fashion?
How can the circular pitch diam come 4.5 ...
Calculation gives 17.82 ....you are showing 4.5deg how come .....
15:18
yes bro same problam

As i am using Solidedge st10
and in Solid edge the drawing is not equation driven. I will be obliged if you can please make a video for me .
I have drawn till visual 13.00 further needs clarification.
hello thanks for oour videos is great. butt i have a question this equation is untila how many teeth or is for all number of teeth

The gear tooth profile is not involute so it just looks like a gear.
How to approach if Pressure angle is 30 degree?
Pressure and for spur is always between 14.5° to 20° and majority of spur gears we made with 20°
Make the vaule of teeth 60 or above
Do you or do you know of anyone that can make a Geneva mechanism out of global variables.
Global variables? If you have some parameters you want to design for, then you can use design standards for the same.
Is it involute curve profile? Please tell
Yes
Some join straight line from end of that curve to base dia or root dia is it correct
@@rbffr sorry not sure.
bro in calculation of C.P.A whats is 4???
i used the formula in design book. Do you have PSG or mahadevan?
Why does everything have to be so convoluted?
Sir how to change it to more than 50 teeth it’s showing error , what parameters should I need to change plz guide me
Start with PCD and then rebuild.
@@CADGill thanks for the reply

sir, you forgot about the base circle
value
here teeth profile is arc. is teeth profile in involute
why you divide by four in CPA formula ? what is four?
Its derived from formulat. CPA is the angle between two consecutive teeths. it's like pitch but angular.
the easy to understand formula is the CPA = 360 / (# teeth * 4) - - - - the division by 4 just finds the mirror about line
Pls upload hod video
sir can i get solidworks part file for this design
That is not an involute
Pressure angle Ka formula sir
Can you please send me the file
Give me the clearence formula
Please reply
Abe 40 x 4 ye circular pitch angle me ye kaise Kiya koi video banate ho to uska details diya karo sala bilkul matlab kuch bhi kar dia koi reason nahi
