yes watching this video makes it extra depressing, she clearly looks under the influence of 'charlie' and seriously underweight(ed? maybe gear as that suppresses the appetite ) . Music video Victim Of Pleasure was firmed a year later and looks more healthy almost like a different person. Also she never had a chance of being a star because the industry blacklisted her due to Wyman which is why you never saw her on totp or Saturday kids shows in the UK..

Possibly the worst “Singer” related to SAW, never understood my fellow gays obsession with someone so devoid of talent or stage presence. At least people avoided buying her records in droves, although had the material gone to a more capable star with a personality and star quality (like Got To Be Certain proved when it went to Ms Minogue) it could have been huge. Those songs were wasted on Mandy.
Half agreed. Mandy is beautiful insider and out. , and has stage presence. But with a better singer, like Princess or Sinitta, the songs would have been bangers.
@@Raider577 It was the singer of Dead or Alive that thought Mandy should be a huge star and talked to the producer to let him introduce her and actually her single was the very first PWL release Mandy career was sckyrocketing just when her health and relationship were crumbling down -she went on tour in Australia with Jason Donovan Rick Astley and Kylie -then when her illness started to be serious she was about to start a huge American promotional tour hosting important tv shows and promote her album- she was already in America when they had to cancel all her appearances because she collapsed and didn't want to show up- with all the staff going nuts talking her about how much money efforts would be wasted and how great was going to be her popularity now that the american public was going to meet her (in america anyway she was great in the club circuit even if she was miss nobody) but Mandy felt too ill and heartbroken and said no- few months after she was weighting 23kg and hospitalised- on the verge of divorce- her career gone- I think if she wouldnt had wed Wyman things would have might turned different -If only Mandy would have been free of that man manipulations which made her so in love and need of his attentions- maybe she would have been able to discover herself indipendent and free - I remember many interviews where she said how her sexy image didnt really appeal her- she asked many times to be presented with a freshier girly image -she was a cheerful witty girl -not a serious proud femme fatale- and how she preferred her image in the Positive Reaction and Boys and Girls videos - She was a huge star allover Europe Japan and South Africa- with her songs and videos on the chart top ten in many countries I would like to know how many magazines featured her as cover girl but I saw countless arlready from any country -Japan-Italy-Sweden-UK-Ireland-Australia-Holland-Turkey-Romania-Russia-Austria Germany Spain Norway - She was the it girl for nearly five years her name became recognazible by anyone- She was everywhere and all over tvs posters- huge Marciano advertises on the roads- on the radio and all sorts of magazines not just the teen ones but even Rolling Stones Interview and even on ladies magazines and the like like Vougue Mary Claire Grazia Harpers Bazaar- Just before the american tour she had started receiving offers for a career in Hollywood- Girls where copying her style and Mums cried sawing pictures of her unrecognizable so tiny and thin ill in a rehab Many stars went to visit her -Boy George-Nick Kamen- Simon Le bon- Rick Astley- Patsy Kensit- Kim Wilde-Paul Young -unfortunately Mandy was too broken hearted and ill and she wouldnt heal till almost three years later when she finally started to recovery -I think if all this didnt happen she would have become a huge star probably not less important than Kylie - ( PWL sended her with their biggest star in tour because they thougth she was like them )doenst' surprise me that despite her quick but shortlived career we still talk about her many years later

Pete Waterman persuaded Stock and Aitken to write and produce for her. They themselves weren't really interested in writing and producing for her.
