As an anxious mom of an autistic son you have no idea how much your videos help my family prepare for our trip to Japan next year. The outline is so appreciated. Thank you so much! ❤
Thanks for the POV video for the bus. The visual annotations for everything on the map are incredibly helpful. Knowing how jet lagged we will be, this will help a lot.
When taking the monorail, be sure to hop on the express instead to avoid stopping at every station. Another very important thing for people to know is that even if you bought your JR pass via the official JR website, you still have to stand in line to pick up your physical pass like everyone else. There is no separate express line. Also know that the JR official site forces you to set an activation date, which is very risky. People must know this.
I’m so glad I stumbled on to your video. I was so nervous about what to do when I het off the plane and how to get to the hotel. I was prepared to hire someone to greet us and take us personally. But it doesn’t sound as bad as I thought and I feel better.
This video was great. As someone who plans in detail, most of the videos I saw didn't comment on what you do after the plane lands and I like this type of information but usually get it from blogs as videos are rare . Will definitely watch the rest of your Japanese Travel videos
This answered a lot of questions I had for my trip and I feel more confident. I deal with anxiety and tend to panic when traveling to unfamiliar places let alone another country. Thanks for this detailed video!
Absolutely fantastic. Was just there a couple of months ago and this is EXACTLY what you need to know. Small addition. They do have bus ticket machines outside right at the bus stops, and it seems they are trying to really get people to use electronic bus tickets. I think they were even a little cheaper.
Thank you for using Haneda Airport. This year, Japan Airlines will be flying to Doha, and All Nippon Airways will be flying to Milan, Istanbul, and Stockholm, so be sure to check them out.😊
Thank you so much for this video! We're traveling in October and I was getting very anxious with, money exchange, wifi pickup, and figuring how to get to our hotel. This helped calm my nerves. THANK YOU
THANK YOU FOR THE DETAILED VERSION OF THIS. The layout was so confusing on the maps from the official website. This made it simple as easy to understand. My group is going next October, and we are landing in Haneda, so thank you!
Just got in this week, and THANK YOU for this guide. I was able to ask the info desk on where things were, but having your guide really helped me avoid the crowds. I got the Ninja WiFi picked up and going once I got to the hotel. The limo bus was the first ticket counter on the left, an the Pasmo Passport was right before the Nina WiFi. I noticed that I was the only American on the LimoBus. The stops all come up on a screen up front, and the announcements are in English and Japanese, and it was easy. Thanks for the help!
If you happen to arrive at Haneda airport on a weekend or Japanese Holiday, there is a 500 yen combo ticket for Monorail and JR Yamanote line that you can purchase at the ticket machine near the monorail toll gate. JR Yamanote is the green circular route. WIth this combo ticket, you can take the monorail from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsu-cho station (terminus) station, easy transfer (follow the arrows on the floor) to JR trains to take you to any JR station on the Yamanote line. It isn't absolutely necessary to take the JR Yamanote train but you do need to get off at a JR station served by a JR Yamanote line. So you can take JR Keihin-Tohoku (blue) line to Tokyo Station, Akihabara Station, or Ueno Station for example.
hmmm,.... on the second floor shopping complex will be Kamakura Shirts ... it's where I get my work shirts ... the quality isn't as good as Motoki Ginza but still good ... also, seriously, the nearby JAL hotel is business class and a quick, convenient place to stay ...
Very informative vlog! I hope you make a vlog about which airport is best to take, if Narita or Henada airport if you are staying in Tokyo area. Keep it up! It's a big help for us and for those having a muti trip destination.
Thanks for your videos! I have followed Only in Japan, Japan By Food, Rion, and Paolo from Tokyo over the past several years. But yours covering all the airport and transport details is extra helpful. Have been waiting almost 13 years to finally go to Tokyo, will be there mid-May! Might be hard to actually leave and fly back to NY after realizing how amazing Tokyo is. IF you have videos on coping with Japan withdrawal, I'll watch them haha!
Recently subscribed to your channel. Awesome content and hopefully you can answer some of my questions: 1. My family of 7 will be arriving in Japan Haneda AIrport on December 22, 2023 and we like your bus idea. If we are staying in No.366 APA Hotel Asakusa Shin Okachimachi Ekimae, will the bus drop us off at that location or will it drop us off at a centralized location and then we have to transfer to our hotel? Avoiding train due to luggages and transfers. 2. Where would you recommend my family visiting during Christmas to celebrate, we enjoy going to places where people congregate to celebrate 3. If we decide to get either the passmo or suica card, can we use these card to pass through or do we still need to purchase train tickets using the passmo or suica card? 4. How late does the train operates if we have a morning flight of 2AM from Haneda Thank you again for answering our questions and if you have any suggestions it would surely be appreciated.
Wow, what an amazing video! This is way I love youtube, because of people like you that do their best explaining these types of very useful information! Thaaaanks! :)
Awesome video. You didn't mention Softbank Wifi routers, it seems they also have their pickup / deposit shop except this one is on F3 (departure floor). Thanks for the clear and relevant info.

Hi and thanks for the video very informative. I’m traveling there with my daughter in Nov and staying at the Sheraton Grande on the bay. Is the best way to grab a bus? I’m looking online and can see many options but a little confused. Any help with a simple explanation appreciated. Thanks guys
Thanks for the great and very informative videos. Fantastic. I will arrive at 23:30 hrs at Haneda Terminal 3. I think I will have to take a taxi or limo service as there seem to be no hotel buses operating at night. I appreciate your advice. Thanks a lot, Walter
We are back from our wonderful visit to Tokyo and beyond. The information you provided was so valuable. Tired, excited and a bit foggy headed we followed the steps you lined out and because of the great map you posted we knew just where to go. After exiting immigration, money exchange, check; WiFi pocket pickup, check; found our pre-arranged driver, check! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!
Great video! How much would the bus ticket cost, since the monorail costs roughly 650 yen and i would like to compare prices to choose the best one. Thanks!
The monorail from T3 to Hamamatsucho (the last stop) is ¥520. Then you’ll have to change to another line to get to your final destination. Most limousine buses are ¥1,000+, depending on your final destination. They both have advantages and disadvantages.
Pretty sure that 97% or more will probably go to the Keikyu line or Monorail but for me my situation is different. This will be my third time that I will be coming to Japan. Will be arriving in November. I have a connecting flight to Fukuoka at Haneda Terminal 2. I am pretty sure that I would need to take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 2 and then get off and go to the ANA counter and they would take care of me there. I have approximately 2 1/2 hours after I land (thats if I land on time) to get to my gate.. Wish me luck.
Right now, they suspended the dedicated ANA buses that transfer their passengers between terminals so you must exit customs before transferring to terminal 2. At Haneda, after getting through immigration process (the yellow QR code in Visit Web Japan) and finger print scan, find a kiosk for Customs Declaration near the far ends of the baggage claim just before the exits (scan your passport, light blue QR code and get your picture taken), then pick up your checked luggage. It's faster in this sequence because it takes about 30 minutes for baggage to arrive after the plane stops but this trick only works at Haneda and not at Narita. You then walk out the automated gate which scans your face and if everything goes well, you should not need to stop by a customs agent. In normal hours, you can drop off your luggage at ANA's domestic transfer counter in terminal 3. If your flight is unusually early (like before 5 AM), that counter may not be open in which case you must take your luggage with you to terminal 2. Consider picking up a free monorail ticket for terminal transfer by showing your boarding pass at the information desk. Once you're at the monorail gate, look for a mechanical bell next to the payment gate on the left to call for the attendant to show your monorail ticket. It's a little faster, less crowded, and has more frequent service than the free bus. Only downside is that the information desk might be busy. In that case you can use the free bus or just pay 200 yen to ride monorail instead of waiting in line for a free ticket. If you still have your luggage, drop it off at the manned counter near security gate D dedicated for international to domestic transfer. Then go through domestic security and find your departure gate. Return trip might let you use Face Express if you are flying back on ANA or JAL. You scan your passport and boarding pass and take your picture at a kiosk at Haneda or Narita. From that point, you don't need to show your passport or boarding pass to pass through security or to board the plane (your facial scan is all it takes). Face Express has a dedicated line that is much shorter than normal security line. But from domestic to international connection, I'm not sure if you are able to use Face Express, so maybe it is best to call them ahead of time to see what the process might be. You can get the free monorail terminal transfer ticket in reverse (terminal 2 to terminal 3) as well. If you don't have a smart phone that roams in Japan, make sure to take screen shots of the QR codes in Visit Web Japan before arriving in Japan. Free WiFi service is available but if 1000 people try to connect at once in the immigration/customs area, it may not work that well.
@@emikami1 oh wow thanks for all this information! My flight lands in the afternoon at Haneda airport so I should be able to take advantage of the international to Domestic transfer (I will have one checked luggage). Going back though will be just going through Haneda like normal. My trip starts in Fukuoka but I am going to be going eastward slowly through several cities/towns and ending in Tokyo. Re vjw I have the QR codes already screenshotted plus I have a jp sim on my phone as well but I only use it for small data use and sms
Thank you very much for your very helpful introduction to Haneda Airport when arriving in Japan. I wonder how late the limousine or Tokyu buses operate from Haneda Airport to downtown Tokyo since my Air Asia plane from Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to land at 22.35.
Bus departures stop somewhere between 9:00pm and 11:00pm depending on destinations from the airport. If your plane arrives late, you may need to take a taxi or stay at an airport hotel.
Narita airport has 3 international terminals, with T2 and T3 being sort of combined. To make it as clear as possible, we will do Narita as a 2 part series.
Could you also indicate where the Suica and/or Pasmo machines are at Terminal 3...are they near the ticketing machines for the monorail/trains? And, at what time does the bank close for money exchanging? I'll be arriving at 8:00PM on a Sunday at Haneda this October. Thank you so much...this video was a fabulous guide for we newbies to Japan 😊
The easiest thing to do is order your Suica card online, before you go to Japan. Or you can get them at any JR ticket machine. The JR east office has them also, but they close at 8:00 pm. You can just get a ¥500 monorail ticket to get you into town and buy one from the JR machines at Hamamatsuch station. The machines change languages and are very clear and easy to understand. As for the bank, I’ve never been at the airport past eight. According to the airport info (tokyo-haneda.com/en/floor/terminal3/2nd_floor.html) it is open 24 hours. Should it be closed, the 7Bank ATMs are right next to the bank. Have a great trip.
@@JapanandMoreTours Thank you so much, very much appreciate your response! I'm a little overwhelmed by all the planning involved and the options available. Travelling solo as an older gal too...
@@paulineh4019 Sure. Here you go: www.japan-rail-pass.com/transportation/prepaid-cards/suica I use this website regularly, but you can also buy it from Klook and SIM Card Geek.
If your mobile phone service doesn’t have an international plan, it’s a way to stay connected while you’re out sightseeing. Japan has very limited public WiFi. The free WiFi that is available usually has a lengthy registration process and it kicks you off after you’re idle for a minute or two. Then you need to go through the registration process all over again to reconnect.
Hello! Thank you for this informative video! I’m going there in a few weeks. This time to Haneda instead of Narita. I was last in japan in 2016. I noticed you mentioned pocket wifi but didn’t say anything about a sim card or e-sim (instead of pocket wifi). Do you recommend a pocket wifi over getting a SIM card there? I appreciate any feedback you can provide.
It’s up to you. I like pocket WiFi because I can connect my phone, my iPad, and my computer to one pocket WiFi router. With a sim, or an e-sim, only the phone is connected. It is possible to tether your tablet or computer, it’s just more steps to take to connect each time.
Thank you for video. I’ve seen a number of these videos. However, no one has mentioned anything about prescription medication that is life changing that people will need while there. Especially if they are not staying longer than 10 days. Will I be detained for illegal drugs? I wish someone would address this concern.
I don't know if you two are still replying to this video. I'm staying at a sister hotel of the Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda and they have free shuttle bus to and from the airport. Should I ask the hotel staff or the bus ticketing staff about it?
I’m not sure to which hotel you are referring, but if it were me, I’d contact the hotel before leaving for Japan. Don’t know where you’re flying from, but jet lag makes it hard for me to think straight. So I would have an idea of where to go before departing.
Where can i get a Welcome Suica card? I also have a Pasmo card from a previous trip, which i assume i can still use by adding more monet to it. Where at Haneda Terminal 3 can i do this?
Bus departures stop somewhere between 9:00pm and 11:00pm depending on destinations from the airport. If your plane arrives late, you may need to take a taxi or stay at an airport hotel.
Have you stayed at apa hotel nihombashi in Tokyo? I saw that most of apa hotels are small and some says they can’t even put the luggage in the room. We are going to Japan in April. This is our first time and planning to stay there for 10 days and we are nervous.
From my experience, I find that APA hotels are very clean and nice. They are small rooms, so be prepared for that. We’ve never stayed at the APA in Nihonbashi.
Hi, a happy subscriber here.thanks for your video. Would you like to give a suggestion what is the best option to reach Funabashi city from Haneda airport, arriving around 8pm?we have 4 suitcases😊thanks in advance
I don’t know where exactly you’re going in Funabashi, but it looks like the Keikyu line to Funabashikeibajo would be your best bet. It’s one train with no transfers. Keep in mind that the last train departure is at 10:17pm. With an 8pm arrival, this might be tight! We suggest staying one night at a hotel at the airport and then catching the train to your destination the following day.
You can preorder them from the same companies that provide the pocket WiFi. It’s also possible to get the card on arrival from either a vending machine, the WiFi/SIM desks, or Bic Camera. In my experience, the pre ordered SIM cards have better data plans.

After exiting immigration, money exchange, check; WiFi pocket pickup, check; found our pre-arranged driver, check! THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!
Wow! We’re so glad that our video was so helpful for you. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. 🙏😃🙌🏼🎊🎉
just book my flight this July. I feel scared LOL going solo
Perfect! Thanks so much. This will help in so many ways 🙂
Great! 👍
Thank you very much for these useful information.
You are welcome!
Thanks for the video, please help to review the LUUP scooter rental service , how to check out and return the scooter for tourist , thank you !
We will try
Do you have a video on storing baggage at Haneda airport
No, but there is a cloak room to the right of the money exchange. I believe they will hold luggage.
Thank you 🙏 for sharing! 😊
You are so welcome!
Thank you. Do you have a video for Narita Airport?
Not yet. Glad you enjoyed this. 👍
Yes please because I will be arriving at narita in early September 🤗
Do you have a video for Haneda airport to Yokohama international cruise please
Thank you very much for your very helpful introduction to Haneda Airport when arriving in Japan. I wonder how late the limousine or Tokyu buses operate from Haneda Airport to downtown Tokyo since my Air Asia plane from Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to land at 22.35.
Bus departures stop somewhere between 9:00pm and 11:00pm depending on destinations from the airport. If your plane arrives late, you may need to take a taxi or stay at an airport hotel.
@@JapanandMoreTours Thank you very much.
Thank you~ this video helped me a lot ❤
How come they didn't make a video about international people arriving at Tokyo Narita Airport.
@@JapanandMoreToursDo you have a link to order the Suica card online please.
@@paulineh4019 Sure. Here you go: www.japan-rail-pass.com/transportation/prepaid-cards/suica
I use this website regularly, but you can also buy it from Klook and SIM Card Geek.
@@JapanandMoreTours thank you!
Where to catch a private car service? This was not addressed in your video.
I would recommend asking the private car service where they intend to pick you up.
I love y’all smile👍👍👍
I hope y’all ok there , we heard from news they have earth quake in Japan🙏🙏🙏
Thanks! This was very helpful information. BUT.....why do people keep talking about renting wifi?
If your mobile phone service doesn’t have an international plan, it’s a way to stay connected while you’re out sightseeing. Japan has very limited public WiFi. The free WiFi that is available usually has a lengthy registration process and it kicks you off after you’re idle for a minute or two. Then you need to go through the registration process all over again to reconnect.
@@JapanandMoreTours Got it....thanks!! Really appreciate you sharing that information. 👍
Awesome content!
Appreciate it!
You covered pocket WiFi but you didn't cover where can I get a regular sim card? Would you know? Thank you
We have an article about taking meds to Japan here: japanandmore.com/a-guide-for-bringing-medication-to-japan/
Thanks so much for this helpful video. Do I need to show any QR code on my mobile to the customs officer? Thanks again.
You don’t have to do the QR code. If you don’t do the QR code, then be sure to fill out the forms on your flight before landing.
@@JapanandMoreTours Thanks so much!
Just found your videos. Very informative. My questions is do the buses run24 hours or the stop at some time? Thank you for your help
God bless you. Thank you for precious knowledge
Our pleasure!
Hi we are staying at the Shiba park hotel perhaps a taxi would be the easiest?
Or you could take the Monorail to Hamamatsucho station (which the last stop - so it’s super easy) and then it’s just a 10 min walk to your hotel.
Just subscribed.
I’m arriving Henada T3 late at night, are there any sleep pods in T3?
Terminal 1 has a capsule hotel called First Cabin, but I don’t think there is anything in T3 anymore.
@@JapanandMoreTours thanks for your reply folks….much appreciated 👍✈️
Excellent video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice video! One question, will I be able to get a SIM card at the airport? Those for my phone, not for a pocket wifi
You can preorder them from the same companies that provide the pocket WiFi.
It’s also possible to get the card on arrival from either a vending machine, the WiFi/SIM desks, or Bic Camera.
In my experience, the pre ordered SIM cards have better data plans.
