Yes, I posted a comment just now about a young man jumping off a bridge and his foot got wedged in submerged wood pilings. His body was recovered the next day, which would have been the day he graduated from high school.

I had a cousin that died at his senior class party when he jumped into water similar to this and broke his neck in a shallow area. Such a sad accident that changed the family forever.
My mom's twin sister thought she could dive over a shallow section of water into a deep part, where there was a sheer drop. She broker her neck and died two weeks later. She was only 13. I named my 2nd daughter after her.
Never overestimate water's depth.
That’s awful! I can’t imagine having lost my twin so young
Normally I'd say darwinism, but they were only 13. That's so sad.
Cool story bro
Classmate in high school, he was a high school diver. Went swimming in quarry pool one Saturday summer afternoon. He and his buddies came back Sunday afternoon and he dove in. And broke his neck on a refrigerator someone dumped in the water overnight. He became a paraplegic. Last I heard, he was racing wheelchairs.
Sorry to hear that, but did she break her neck because the water was too shallow and she bumped into a rock or somting?
The dog was thinking, "oh no , that water is freezing." ...😂😂😂❤
He was worried about his owners. People should consider the feelings of their pets.

Love that about Norway 🥰
It's crazy how something like checking depth should be common sense but people just don't
Definitely! It should be common sense to check that first, or even more than that, it should just be pretty much instinctual by now. Everyone has heard warnings to check water depth before jumping. I can't imagine jumping into a body of water without being certain that it is deep enough for that. It's absolutely insane that some people actually do that.
Common sense says not to jump off a slippery rock into water possibly full of boulders.

Thanks for the depth check comment. My mum's friend's only child was home on leave from the army. Was walking across a bridge and saw a young woman splashing, shouting and flailing about in the water below. He dived off the bridge to save her. Turns out it was shallow water and she was just mucking about having a laugh. Less than funny for the son though as, he snapped his neck and spent the rest of his life as a tetraplegic. To make it even more horrific he was stabbed to death by his carer and supposed best friend a few years back. Absolutely broke his mum that she outlived him.
