I’m grumpy too, but like I suspect you do, I try to have a positive impact on my surroundings rather than a negative one whilst existing within that grumpiness. Grumpy and unsociable are not the same thing 😊

I’ve also been re-reading and listening to RB since he left us, his Desert Island Discs was very moving. Ethel and Ernest is just heart wrenching (and funny as well!).
I borrowed my mum’s copy of Fungus this summer, she’s very fond of that copy because it was a gift from her uni friends and they all wrote lovely messages. She’s mentioned/shown that to me various times over the years, and only this year did I learn that she never actually read it!!! Outrageous behaviour, might as well be a birthday card
I love that there is no pretence at all in his Desert Island Discs and he just says things as they are. I expect he lived a lot of his life in his imagination, which was probably a wonderful place.
Fungus the Bogeyman reads more like a scientific study into Bogeymen, than a story I think.
Nice work Marek 👍 Briggs' snowman artwork always reminds me of the Christmas when my lovely, mild mannered dad chased two of the village ne'er-do-wells down the street after they knocked my snowman over! 😂 I doubt the yobs mended their ways after his little chat...( an internet search of Longridge local news confirms this !!😅) but bless him anyway for trying.
I used read the Lancashire Telegraph website. You are right it is pretty depressing stuff. The snowman attack was probably just the start of a life of crime for those two.

Agree totally. T-r-y-i-n-g to get into something which resembles a Christmas mood. Bought a tiny real tree in a pot today to sit on the windowsill & have found some tiny balls to hang on it and some tiny lights to boot. Would be worthy of the IOW Godshill Model Village. Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la & all that jazz 🎄🙄
I am unpacking my Christmas decorations too. I have started watching a Christmas film every night in my build up to the big day. I also always watch The Box of Delights. That always makes me feel Christmassy. Stay cool.
