I particularly like your dress hack plans and the fabrics are really nice. Great plans! The Sewing Club podcast recently did a review of the Clo bias skirt and shared lots of tips for handling bias. Worth a listen! Lining bias cut garments is a bit tricky, because unless you’re using the identical fabric the bias will probably hang and move differently. And even if it is similar fabric, need to cut them exactly on the same grain or the lining will hang differently. Installing a zip on the bias is hard enough the first time without needing to wrangle two sets of bias! A half slip might work, but would possibly look strange because the cross-grain of the slip will project away from the body, while your skirt is trying to cling to the body. I would wear the most light weight, bias cut slip I could find underneath. Or cut an Ogden cami on the bias and extend it as a slip to wear underneath?

Lovely plans for spring sewing. I look forward to the finished reveals. One thing I do when checking the fit on a new pattern is to compare it to patterns or garments I know I like the fit on. Harder to do with a jumpsuit because of the added vertical ease needed to sit without a wedgy but might still help in deciding whether its the top or bottom that requires extra length
Hi Cath, I will be interested to see how you like the Nova jumpsuit. I have done the zadie and also StyleArcs new Birdie Jumpsuit and I love both. I did the zadie in a plain cobalt linen and have worn it lots! you should try the longer length I think you would like it

I wonder about the print of your zebra viscose, would the direction of the zebra stripe look strange at all if cut on the bias? I cant quite imagine it, maybe it would be perfect on the bias, but I do wonder if it will. Otherwise, I am definitely looking forward to seeing you making that skirt!
Currently making bias skirt as it’s so 90s fashion on trend using mood society indigo pattern really good elastic waistband only 2 pieces for pattern, can’t wait to see your skirt
