We have been buying oxygen absorbers and 7 mil Mylar bags from PackFreshUSA since early 2018. During all that time (1000's of bag and oxygen absorbers, and about 6 year before before we added this affiliate link) we have been happy with the products and service we have received from them.

Before buying a freeze dryer, perhaps research to find out more about the downside of the machine; some people have problems with their machine and it's big and heavy and hard to return!

Change from solid to gas without going through the liquid phase is sublimation, change from gas to solid without going through the liquid phase is called deposition. Enjoy your channel, thanks for the time and effort you put into it.

Thanks! 🤣 Yes, I know, desublimation or deposition. I was just having one of those moments and completely lost the words for a minute. If I bothered to plan ahead for what I might talk about I'd probably do that less often. I thought I was just going to do a 6 minute video and ended up going on for 36. Detailed lesson, back in the classroom again. (Or I could edit them out - but where's the fun in that?) 😁

Thank you so much Dan for all the info on the candy freeze drying. Our grandkids are going to be so excited with all the candy we send to them. We can not thank you enough. ❤️

We so appreciate your time on this. It is exactly what we needed to know. Having the why explained really was so much more necessary to understand than just the steps. We cannot thank you enough for putting this video together for us. You went so far beyond for a subscriber. Easiest 5 minutes crammed into 36 minutes I have ever seen 😀

Thanks so much for asking. I hope that most of the things in it are applicable to your machine. (Mine is a 2017 and my sister's is a 2022)

@@SchoolReports so much is the same and applicable. The difference we just found is my software version does not allow me to adjust freeze time. I can adjust shelf temperature and final dry time but that’s it, without any other options. But seeing your steps and understanding the “why” of the matter makes it easy to understand how to achieve the results we are looking for. Once the kids get all this candy it may become our new found hobby freeze drying candy. Or after I drop it all off with a case of Irn-Bru or Redbull to wash it all down, that might be the end of supplying endeavors. 😉 But we sure are having fun learning how to do this for them.

Great info thanks for sharing , I did manage to do a couple of trays of lollies but got over that pretty fast 😂 that was before all the freeze drier problems , I wanted to ask if it matters which trays you use ? say medium trays in the large machine ?

I would be happy to use any tray I could fit into the rack.

Thanks for the video! Great info.
So, if you open the drain valve when they are warm they tend to collapse... ah.

In this case, most of the problem was that I was trying to speed the process for the video. If it had been 100% dried (a few hours) it probably would have only collapsed a little, if at all, like the Bit-O-Honey.

At least, when the end of the world happens, anyone who watched your videos will know they can go to your house for some food since you so ridiculously post it online
