Ayato's not even bad. People just want a speedrun specialist or a broken form of versatile (Ganyu/Bennett), and that's pretty much a meta-slave. Preferring Ayato and other non-T0 units is actually something I'd consider praiseworthy (I say this as a Souls vet who's used to getting my ass beat with suboptimal builds and gears and powering through with tactics and careful thought in building every type of playable style)

If you already have a good echos set, that’s awesome, but as people mentioned Gladiators and HoD are almost the same on him! And good luck on getting his weapon!!! I’m gonna try to get it too 😭

Getting a rerun character is important. Genshin decides which character gets a rerun sooner based on sales. I don't think Ayato will get another rerun after this one any time soon.
@@RKNancy there is really no science or logic behind rerun banners now, examples are xiao and yoimiya having two banners in a year with no more than 4 months gap and then there is shenhe who has only one banner (january this year) and not a single rerun until most definitely next year. As for sales, I don't think we ever have any representative sample for every players worldwide so idk about that. I just don't think there is any pattern now as much as I want it, so "pulling whoever character you like a little better and just hope for some good luck" is what I do now.
both ayaka and ayato have sakura petals on their bursts and it's because of the lore (i'm too lazy to explain lore but in the sumeru last archon quest with wanderer we get to hear about kamisato clan) so it makes sense for them to be related more with the sakura trees things (bad grammar btw...)
actually in paimon official bili2 and weibo, they make a painting n him as represents of the spring, he stood in front of that big sakura tree, while lumine like represents of the summer with greens and aranara, albedo with winter, he is painting, and last is xiangling with autumn, the art of the 4 seasons is very beautiful, you should check it
