The older I get, the harder this hits. As a kid vibing to Eminem it was cool. Now as a father with a kid the same age as I was then it makes me cry... Every. Single. Time. Perspective
As a kid, I loved and cried to this from a child’s perspective. Now I love and cry from a fathers perspective. It’s so different how I view it from a kid to a father.
Love this song. I also think Castle and arose both have mind blowing lyrics. 😊 I don’t understand why it got negative reviews another underrated song is Walk on water
I have a girl and this song always reminds me of her and i. Her mother was wild and in the clubs of Vegas so we ended up divorcing when my daughter was 2 ish. Then her mom wound up on Crystal meth using my child support money to support her drug habit. I found out and took her to court and the judge told her to get a drug test directly after court let out. She didn’t go and i was awarded sole custody. Raised my daughter as a single dad from 7-18 when she graduated. Sorry for the long story. Just giving context.
Happy New Year! I think I remember the video more than the song. I know I saw it on MTV back in "ye olden dais" 😉but never really listened to the song enough for it to stick. Later in life, as I went on my "Eminem-discovery" I found it and at first didn't really like it. It was boring, compared to his other songs but the more I listened, the more I appreciate it. Now it's got a firm place on my playlists 🙂 What you said about Eminem taking on all the responsibilities when he was able to, and how that makes him a man - that's the reason I appreciate him and his music even more. Also that you don't hear much about his life nowadays, that he never used the drama of days past for his gain, that he's ALL about making the music he loves. That we know nothing about his love-life apart from his past marriage. That all and of course his talent. So the personal songs always carry so much more weight for me because they're rare and give a little insight (but not too much). And they carry their special brand of encouragement and empowerment to listeners. Kinda like "See? This is all crap, and my life sucked and you will never know what you are capable off when you don't fight for your dreams".
Hey Toney! How've you been?! Hope you & family had a nice Christmas! 😁🎄 I agree...a lot of people aren't looking at Eminems "Actions'. They think his lyrics spell out who he is! But...to me...his actions speak louder than any verse in his songs! They both had issues with drugs but stuck together through quite a bit! I think he said it best in a song later on....not bad people ...just bad together. They had a pattern of ....everything would be good for about 1 1/2 to 2 yrs...then the problems would start. Actually, this song has been trending on Spotify and a few other platforms. I think the young'uns have discovered it! lol. Happy New Year! 🎉
@@ToneyReactions I survived the relatives! lol. I dont know if you heard about this song and "When I'm Gone". trending on Spotify & a few other platforms. But they have been making a comeback to the mainstream! Like I said...think the younger ones are discovering these older Eminem songs & loving them! 😁 Its great to see his work appreciated by these younger kids! Especially since the ones that are just a few years older ....were the ones that show NO RESPECT at all to the OG's!
04-05-06 Eminem is arguably the most 🐐 version of em…… As run down as he was, mentally in a bad place, proofs death, he somehow pulled it together on encore and dropped some of the craziest fucking shit ever before going completely into the darkness/ drug addiction/ rehab. His comeback in 09/10 somehow.. someway, in my opinion surpasses and goes toe to toe with all his old shit. Maybe didn’t re create these type of once in a life time records…. But he came back spitting so so so so hard and 10x smarter and more nails then he ever used to be. The tim Westwood freestyles and every album dropped since he has gotten sober has been on another level lyrically. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but he reached the level he wanted to reach and more, to this day still out rapping himself.

I literally tear up at the past with w welcome home to Kim. He could have cut her out and been bitter, but no, that's Hailey's mom.
It's sad
Hey T, I know you know but it’s kinda fun watching reaction videos to Em. It’s just‘different’ 💪🏻
