I'm part of the Central Church of Christ in Paducah, KY. I'm so surprised to see so many Church of Christ people in the comments! I often feel alone, surrounded by denominational churches and atheists. This is so nice to see so many saved christians.
I grew up spending my summers at Grandparents in Cairo, Ill, and the Church of Christ there. Paducah was just over the bridge and I spent a lot of time there too!

Hello Sandra Sells, So very sorry at the passing of your father. I understand how you feel as I lost mine too some years back. We are also a family of people faithful in the Church of Christ. Though you and I both miss our dad's so very much, still we know that they are both in Paradise and that we can and will be with them in Heaven one day if we remain faithful "steadfast, firm unto the end." May I please encourage you to always keep your eye firmly fixed on that great place of Heaven which our Lord has promised to the faithful of all the ages.

This music is so beautiful it makes me take a pause, you know I left my church about a year ago over some reasons that I see now were just petty reasons , I was faithful in my church, I loved my church and loved being there, I was an bus captain, a faithful soul winner, head usher, and was there every time the doors were open and while listening to this, it reminded me just how I missed being there . I am grateful for stumbling into this music tonight! I guess that's my sign to get back. Thank You.

I love these songs. I go to a very small church - less than 15 - and seems everyone is afraid of singing aloud. I have gone to larger churches and the singing is one of the things I miss most. to get my fix I come here lolol thanks so much

Beautiful ! Thanks GOD this is exactly what I wanted. Electronic contemporary worship songs are good too but sometimes I need some holy sounds of choir for my prayer time.
I feel the same. I was raised in a church where it was traditional to sing acapella though I sing and enjoy instrumental music.
Through the years when some learn of my background they often gently tease me about it.
Once a person asked me, "What could be more silly than believing you always have to sing without instruments?"
I replied " Believing you always have to sing WITH instruments."

In the Church of Christ, we sing acapella, and do not use instruments at all. I find that I like it better though. It seems that people get more into worship services when they are really singing to God, and don't have a church band doing it for them. That, and I think voices just sound better!

The church of Christ is not a "denomination". You should know that (Matthew 16: 13 -18 -SINGULAR); purchased by His blood (Acts 20: 28); built on Jesus Christ as the only foundation (1 Corinthians 3: 11); not built on Paul or Appollos or Cephas [Peter] or any other man (1 Corinthians 1: 12-13); composed of the saved, who are added to the church by the Lord who saved them (Acts 2: 47). The church is called the body of Christ(Ephesians 1: 22-23; Colossians 1: 18-24).

Hi, I'm Barb. This is to Kayla- A Christian who is backsliding is a Christian who is not walking in the light of Christ. He/she has forsaken the precepts of Christ. A Christian is one who has died to the world through baptism and has raised a new creation, washed of all sins, forgiven of their sins. He/she is as white as snow to walk in sin no more, and follow in the light of Christ. When a Christian starts to follow after the world, there are three ways that the apostle John stated that was of this world in I John 2:16. These are THE LUST OF THE FLESH, THE LUST OF THE EYES, AND THE PRIDE OF LIFE. He stated that these were not of the Father but of the world. When a Christian follows these standards, they are backsliding or falling back into the sinful world.

Today, Wednesday, Judas betrayed Christ Jesus by agreeing to sell out our Lord God. Some might suppose based on the Gospels that Jesus knew what was in his heart from the very beginning. Some may suggest that is why Christ chose him to be one of the twelve. I do not know this anymore than I know what Judas wanted the money for or what his motivation truly was. I do not know for certain why Judas betrayed Him. It would appear that there was ‘something’ in this world that Judas wanted more than Jesus Christ our Lord God. I will spend this day of my repentance in prayer, and nourishing the Holy Spirit by action, that I, by God’s Grace, not make the same mistake with my life as Judas did.
Forgive me a sinner!
