I recently quit cutting for the first time in 5 years it's only been a week but it's better than nothing, now I draw to help keep my mind off the world I live in and use my music to escape reality to a place I feel at home. I know how rough life can be sometimes I've had sever bipolar depression since I was ten when I had to move away and I meet a lot of people on the way but they came and went like the others but I have a select few that stuck by me and for that I'm grateful if it wasn't for them I wouldn't still be here right now. I'm 17 now soon to be 18 in 3 months and I have great friends and a loving girlfriend who accepts my past and present and can't wait to see my future she's helped me quit cutting tho she knows of my cuts she still cares I remember she kissed my scars softly and said she loved me no matter wat and she'd always be there for me. today I still suffer from depression and anxiety and sometimes I don't eat bc I think about how other people view me and how I view myself and it destroys the little self-esteem I have left but my gf always complements me everyday and she told me she won't stop til I accept it and I think for once I slowly am so I thank everyone in my life without some of them I wouldn't be alive today and for others struggling don't give up life gets better things change as do people and ull meet someone who loves u for everything u r and accepts ur past scars and loves the present u but u can't be afraid go out there explore life and find ur purpose. Storms don't last forever eventually it finds that spark of light in the dark now go find urs. and remember ur always beautiful unique and special to someone out there at least I think u r 😊

My bestfriend would regularly comfort me in calls when she couldn't be there for me. it used to be pretty bad, where I'd have a scene each night.. I attempted suicide on January 23rd 2016, apperently my bestfriend rushed me to the hospital that evening. Our friendship was 7yrs strong, but we recently broke apart. I pushed the one person who had been there for me when she left out of my life. But at this time, it doesn't matter. I've gone through this crappy year, and now it's 2017! Happy new years everybody.
My friend killed herself a year ago, and she texted me "can you promise me that whatever happens you'll stay strong and never give up on yourself?" Before she did and I promised her. She's the only reason why I'm not dead right now :).

People may be struggling, but trust me when I say things truly do get better. I used to self harm and found myself in the darkness more times than I can count. It was an endless cycle of pain and remorse I thought would never end. I've been clean for about a year and I can't see myself going back. The past is in the past and I've become a new person. I'll be honest, from my eyes, scars are not beautiful. They should not be considered "romantic" or glorified. When you cut, you are severing your skin, exposing blood, realising pain. Or so you think. It's just as addictive as drugs, but in the end the rush doesn't last forever. Once you start you'll begin finding it more difficult to stop. Before you even think about hurting yourself, think about others. Put their feelings before your own. Because when you hurt yourself, you're hurting them as well. The day I decided to put self harm behind me is when the love of my life sent me a picture of his wrist slit asking me "how does it feel?" I couldn't believe what he did, my heart physically ached and I begged him to go to a hospital. I couldn't believe that I couldn't see the pain I was inflicting on others when I was only trying to do the damage to myself. Cutting is never the answer. If you really want help, call the suicide crisis line or speak to a friend. Talk to someone. You are cared for. Trust me.

The girl I loved the most, my BFF killed herself 10 years ago. She used to cut and after she killed herself I started too for a while. I've been clean since 2012. She could be 29 on July 7 and I miss her so much. Although Scars came up many years later after the tragedy it's a personal remainder for me to not go back to the past.
Been clean for 2 years now. And honestly all I can say is that things get better. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday things will be alright. In the meantime, you just gotta hold on

People may be struggling, but trust me when I say things truly do get better. I used to self harm and found myself in the darkness more times than I can count. It was an endless cycle of pain and remorse I thought would never end. I've been clean for about a year and I can't see myself going back. The past is in the past and I've become a new person. I'll be honest, from my eyes, scars are not beautiful. They should not be considered "romantic" or glorified. When you cut, you are severing your skin, exposing blood, realising pain. Or so you think. It's just as addictive as drugs, but in the end the rush doesn't last forever. Once you start you'll begin finding it more difficult to stop. Before you even think about hurting yourself, think about others. Put their feelings before your own. Because when you hurt yourself, you're hurting them as well. The day I decided to put self harm behind me is when the love of my life sent me a picture of his wrist slit asking me "how does it feel?" I couldn't believe what he did, my heart physically ached and I begged him to go to a hospital. I couldn't believe that I couldn't see the pain I was inflicting on others when I was only trying to do the damage to myself. Cutting is never the answer. If you really want help, call the suicide crisis line or speak to a friend. Talk to someone. You are cared for. Trust me.

The girl I loved the most, my BFF killed herself 10 years ago. She used to cut and after she killed herself I started too for a while. I've been clean since 2012. She could be 29 on July 7 and I miss her so much. Although Scars came up many years later after the tragedy it's a personal remainder for me to not go back to the past.
Been clean for 2 years now. And honestly all I can say is that things get better. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday things will be alright. In the meantime, you just gotta hold on
