The SDGs: issues and challenges

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) were adopted in the UN in 2015 by all 193 governments, the first time universal goals had been set applying to all countries, including in the global North.
IDS and Sussex University have much research underway relating to these goals. The Seminar will explore issues for successful implementation, globally , nationally and locally. There will be time for questions and also brief comments on what is happening in other countries.

From my experience, reporting requitements have influenced and controlled the objectives and activities that I am allowed to pursue or do on the ground. This has severley limited what I can do and has pushed out localised solutions to the challeges.

Hello! I recently decided to make a career shift and pursue Community Development work. However, I'm currently enrolled in a diploma program in Labor and Employment Relations. We study about the history of labor problems & current labor malpractices as well as labor laws and economic principles but geared more towards Human Resources and developing corporations and organizations. I've invested time and money in it already and I wanna know if finishing that course will still be helpful in a career path towards Development work?
