I really like how he went through the video like usually he just says what he wants to do and does it but this time he actually sat down described what and how he was going to do things and even gave little details like what frosting tip he was using. I really appriciate those details from youtubers like him. Good work!!

Lullayable I was just thinking the same thing. Like they did a 5 tier cake but who ate it?
They said they often ate the cake or give to fam/relatives if not the cake is thrown out
Also the way he bakes/decorates is often quite wasteful. Like on the onion cake he made a cylinder cake and then carved like a third of it of.
shows like this often use fake layers as well to reduce the waste

I really like how there's a slight behind the scenes feel to your videos like how you talk to the crew behind the camera or how they come to eat the cake scraps haha. Idk, it makes it feel more relaxed and fun.

Im not a baker but im REALLY interested, what purpose do the straws serve? Is it to keep the cake steady? Please help!
It's to support the top tiers and prevent them from sinking into (ie, crushing) the tiers below. It's like building a house of cards - you have to have something to stack the top levels onto!

Man About Cake Before i took my degree in baking and pastry i always wondered how they did the tiered cakes without them falling over. So simple dowels and straws with cardboard under each cake with one long dowel in the middle for extra support so it doesn't fall over.
but how do you get them out? like you eat a tiered cake from the top to the bottom, right? and when you get to the "straw part", do you just know where the are because you see them (it seems like they are covered in buttercream)? or do the guests have to be careful not to eat a straw? or do you just eat around the straws?

First let me just say I love this cake . I am new to using the shake straws as supports for my cakes, have you ever had any problems with stability with the straws and would you use them for a wedding cake with maybe 5 layers or so?
