This stuff really works. I'd consider myself an 'experienced' driver. I was driving on a motorway, came to exit slip road which had a curve and the back of my car started to slide out. Done this journey hundreds of times before at same speed, always ok. Car just sorted itself out before I realised what was happening. Pulled over and saw flat rear tyre. Hadn't noticed it previously as I was using cruise control so didn't notice extra drag. Never thought much about that ESP button before!
I never understood why people would turn these things off. I mean if you were on a race track and you knew what you were doing, then yea cause these things will slow you down on a race track. But on public roads, these things are great :)
Tricky question for the manufacturers: if all of them rely on Bosch's system. What will be the difference between a car manufactured by company A than company B? (of course, regarding its response to an emergency situation with ESP on)
The video starting at 2:34 it's not very good done.If you look carefully, you can see that,in the first part, the black van is moving probably 40-50 km/h. But ESP/ABS/TC are still amazing
don't trust me?try it on your own! esp on,go round a curve as hard as you can AND I DO MEAN HARD with the throttle high up on revs so you have power and see the line that the car will take. Then turn the esp off (if you can because most cars turn it back on after 30mph/50kmph although the esp sign will still be light on the dashboard) and you will see the car will go round it much tighter. the car won't understeer as much. oh and i am talking about cars with front wheel drive !
Mandatory for any new car in the European Union. The single most important advancement in automobile safety in history. And now some KTM and BMW bikes also have something similar. And also developed by Bosch. Like ABS. I wonder how many lives have this company saved since... Altought their power tools are WAY overpriced LOL.
I'd rather see more money spent on training the driver not to get into a situation where ESP would be required. Funny how people will spend £1000's on such features, and nothing whatsoever on their driving skills.
what a load of crap! any car with esp ON will understeer like hell and with esp OFF it will go round the curve! trust me i have tested it on my car. esp does more bad than good. i

Besides my ESP MII guitar, this is great too! My Chrysler Pacifica has it!

Esp saved my life:)
You're right. "Available since 1998 on all models, standard since 2001."
Great video!
Muy bueno!!!
nice acting @ 2:36. I would nominate this for Oscar Awards.
Молодцы инженеры!
Мне эта хрень жизнь спасла!
Incredible invents: ABS, Airbag, TCS, ESP, Quattro, SH-AWD, VDIM...
Thank you.

good video.
when that yellow circle and triangle in the middle is flashing is that when the DSC is on and working ?
ESP's been standard on every Mercedes Benz since 1998.

Electronic Stability Program
4:37 what road is it?, Idiots St?
not true, even some S class did not have ESP standard in '98 like the S320
I'd say thanks to Bosch engineers rather than god.
Haha, the guy looks like a weirdo making those faces and slamming on the brakes... :)))) So dramatized...
german engineering
6 people dont have esp

Wow, It must be great being an idiot, you get all this cool stuff designed for you. Front wheel drive sucks.
OH please ! Of course it does NOT ! ESP works very well. You're just trying to be interesting !
