Does the rocket launcher still one shot bosses? because I'm wondering if it'd be worth it at the end to just sell your upgraded guns and buy the rocket launcher since you don't need them afterwards.
Yeah the Rocket one shots but you can’t get the last of the unlockables that way. Handcannon requires a new game save on Professional without using *any bonus weapons* and the Cat Ears require an S+ Professional clear on a new save. Rocket’s only available in NG+ so it instantly takes those unlocks away
If you mean the normal rocket launcher, you can buy one per chapter. Personally I buy two, one for Krauser and one for Saddler on professional if I'm not going the infinite Chicago route. Krauser's quite a bit harder since you can't parry unless it's a perfect parry. There's enough treasure in the game to buy them without having to sell all your weapons. If you're only talking about Saddler specifically, you'd have to save some guns as the launcher only gets you past the first phase of the fight.

Professional is just the mode you do 1 to 2 times for the sweeper and cat ears. (3 times for the handcannon) After that play standard, maybe hardcore if you are really good.

its like nobody on the development team play tested professional mode new game. if they did they certainly should have thought "why am both taking control of the character so much, while also not making the character invulnerable". poor design. they did so much better in the original and RE5
One thing I found during my professional playthrough is that the SG (or the sentinel nine which is even better) and Blacktail are super broken maxed out with their exclusive upgrades if you play agressive and craft a bunch of stun grenades. along with the wolf tail you'll just be meleeing nonstop because of how much stunning you do to enemies. That and the ashley and striker charm help massively with using less healing and being able to escape from sketchy areas.
What makes it worse is complaining about it somewhere and everyone who beat it go something like “no you’re just bad” or “just git gud” Edit: I just got S+ on professional. This means that not only am I a better player than you, but I’m also just a better person than you. @VersionBest i wish they didn't make leon so... weak. How is it this mfer can get stun locked and staggered so easily. I've had a grandma shove me and leon completely lost his balance and staggered for no reason. You can get stuck in a gang bang of ganados and you can't even shove them back. Just pray and hope you can either Parry or dodge. Also had an instance of getting stun lock by a stun rod ganado after parrying 3 times, tried getting out the way but by the time leon recovers from the stun after parrying, the ganado attacks right away causing me to yet again parry and died from something else Edit: yes it was perfect parrys but due to the stun rod, it can still stun leon after perfect parrying.

1. The best part about 3:30 is that even if you do escape the stunlock and jump down you're just gonna land right on a specifically-placed bear trap and instantly die 2. The one thing that really gets me about professional is just how FAST everyone is, like I pulled the lever in waste disposal, killed the iron maiden with the RPG and right as it died ashley got grabbed. By time I started heading her direction they had already carried her all the way to the exit. If Ashley got grabbed *at all* she was just gone, genuinely nothing to do about it. Not to mention that the ganados have aimbot on Professional. Any hatchet they throw, bolt they fire, rocket they launch; it WILL hit you. Even if you're moving around and trying to juke them they'll just throw it where you're *going* to be. I've had multiple instances where I'd get pinged by a random hatchet and the stun of that was enough to vacuum me right into another ganado's grab, a fire on the ground, or even a rogue stick of dynamite. Also because their aim is so good one thing that happened a lot is that I would go to blow them up with the RPG only for it to hit the thing they threw at me (even if it came from off screen) and explode right in my face. Even with an infinite rocket launcher that insta-killed pretty much every enemy and every boss I still had a hell of a time getting S with a time around 5-ish hours There's a part of me that really wants the cat ears, but at the same time... I could just upgrade the typewriter to be infinite and that's way less hassle
Really dont get how it took you 5 hours with infinite rockets on prof. You might have looked to long for tresure and explored the map with just walking and killing every enemy in my way it took me 2 and a half hours.
@@NyxDiscordia33 Yes this makes sense. Remember if your going for a better time to always quit out into the main menu and reload from there so it doesnt count as playtime if you reload.

Yeah except you're encouraged to speedrun it for unlocks. And the fact that your guns are inadequate peashooters early on also encourages running past shit etc. It's not like Dark Souls. Dark Souls is fair. RE4make Professional is an exercise in reloading saves until RNG favors you.
At first it wasn't that bad, and wouldn't really be bad at all if autosaves still occurred. I didn't really have problems until recently when I died to one of the two chainsaw ladies trying to get the crank handle, and had to restart from the merchant a few rooms away. (Mainly my fault for not realizing there was another typewriter but still the saves are too far apart for my liking .)
Nah. Tbh Profesional was very manageable and friendly. RE4 Leon with his kicks and now PARRY made me feel in control and keep a steady supply of ammunition. Not to mention the improved “friendly RNG” made it so I basically never ran out of Handgun ammo. What I’m trying to say is that I was expecting hell. But it was actually very manageable. I feel like Re8’s Village of Shadows and Remake 3’s Inferno were WAY HARDER on NG playtroughs.
First time trying out pro mode in any of the RE series. I'm not rushing so it's not as stressful as speed running it. The village part was a bit tough...but the Cabin getting surrounded and having to fight them off with Luis really made me struggle. 😅
Having to do Bella sisters, Mendez, catapults, garador, and water room all in a row is easily my fav part of the game and totally doesn’t make me want to slam my head into a brick wall
God, it's so true. I did manage S+ on Pro, but after the initial excitement, it just doesn't feel worth it to me. The mode is way too annoying and more of a pain to play than it is a fun challenge
To be fair, barging in recklessly and letting yourself be surrounded will get you killed a lot, even in Standard... but I guess you have to do it if you want that S+ Rank... I did Pro S for the Chicago Sweeper, and that's about it for me. The special weapons (Chicago Sweeper, Handcannon and Infinite RL) are better than all the others anyway even with the Cat Ears, as you don't need to reload them.

My favorite deaths were after I successfully parried an attack and followed up with a QTE melee only to get wombo combo'd to death from a lack of iFrames.
Just beat pro difficulty in 4 hours and 33 minutes last night. It was pretty fun. Flash grenades are suuuuuper useful for getting through a lot of areas quickly.
Thanks to Flash and Heavy grenades, i can rush the entire chapter 15 without beign massively hurt.
And i reserved like 10 first aid sprays to this part in my S+ NG Professional run and that saved me a lot.
Later in the last chapter, before Saddler fight, i sold most of my weapons to buy a RPG and that's the salvation.
Only i keep the handgun and TMP for last phase before Ada throwd the Red RPG.
Dude I don’t even know how you made it past the Village, i started my playthrough trying to go for the last of the unlockables last night and have died at the Village 30 times. I haven’t even *seen* Chapter 2 on professional mode yet and am convinced that I never fucking will lol.

Even with Ashley’s armor present, instead of soft locking like the original if she’s not with you when enemies are present, it auto fails you for some reason. Enemies that grab her when you move to another area trying to speed run triggers this lol

Same I tried on standard & hardcore for rank s+ and that was after doing a 8 hr speedrun for trophy started to realise that speedrunning under 5hrs is to much hassle😂
Who did they have play test Professional mode? Did they have someone play test it at all?
Nah it isn't miserable for masochists. It's like their wet dreams. They thrive off this shit lol
The three special weapons (Handcannon, Chicago Sweeper and Infinite RL) are better than any other weapon with infinite ammo anyway, simply because you don't have to reload them.
@@DarkEinherjar not to mention the cat ears are ugly, and would never be something I’d have Leon wear under any circumstances. In fact most of the accessories in the item shop are pretty trash and lame, save for a very small few. You have to grind your azz to get S+ on professional and they reward you with a pair of cat ears for F sake. Why couldnt it be something badazz? What is it about the Japanese and always trying to make everything cutesy. No thanks.
I also have a lot to say about the goofy alternate costumes and the joke outfits....only because there isn’t an equivalent amount of more grounded and serious outfits to balance it out. So I’ll just leave it there.
I thought it was pretty easy once I got to the castle. Those first 6 chapters are nightmare inducing though.

@@Kuschel_K Generally...no.
"NOOOooo! LEEEEOOOoNN!" (guess who?)
What makes it worse is complaining about it somewhere and everyone who beat it go something like “no you’re just bad” or “just git gud”
Edit: I just got S+ on professional. This means that not only am I a better player than you, but I’m also just a better person than you. I am now obligated to degrade, disagree, and criticize your complaints in either a disgraceful manner or without a solution/actual means of help, therefore wasting not only your time, but my own time as well. As your average redditor would say, you are all unskilled organisms and I am simply the best in every single way possible.
Yeah I hate that too. This game on Professional is legit BS. I think they're just boasting that they finally beat it and earned an S+ on Professional.
Also had an instance of getting stun lock by a stun rod ganado after parrying 3 times, tried getting out the way but by the time leon recovers from the stun after parrying, the ganado attacks right away causing me to yet again parry and died from something else
Edit: yes it was perfect parrys but due to the stun rod, it can still stun leon after perfect parrying.

@@renzotkac1236 i JUST competed it like 20 minutes ago. Never doing it again lmao. I had the goal of completing every challenge but some of these challenges sound just as if not a little more tedious than pro s+, like the not taking damage challenge
1. The best part about 3:30 is that even if you do escape the stunlock and jump down you're just gonna land right on a specifically-placed bear trap and instantly die
2. The one thing that really gets me about professional is just how FAST everyone is, like
I pulled the lever in waste disposal, killed the iron maiden with the RPG and right as it died ashley got grabbed.
Even with an infinite rocket launcher that insta-killed pretty much every enemy and every boss I still had a hell of a time getting S with a time around 5-ish hours
There's a part of me that really wants the cat ears, but at the same time... I could just upgrade the typewriter to be infinite and that's way less hassle
