    Very informative as always! Just listening to you and the puzzle about massive galaxies so early in the cosmological timelines popped an analogy in my mind. And that of the velocities of stars at the outer fringes of our galaxy. It was assumed rightly that their speed would have been less than those that are more closer to the center but observations found otherwise and hence gave us an evidence of additional gravitational force resulting from dark matter around the galaxy. If such massive galaxies really start to emerge as normal in early periods then an update of cosmology would be required. Any thoughts?

    • @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
      @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Asad - and yes, it is possible that cosmology may have to be revised. I think it is more likely that the interpretations of our observations will need to be modified. As I mentioned in the video, I think a modification of the distribution of stars may help explain the results. But this may be my own bias to galaxies and star formation... :)

    Dear Salman Bhai,
    When the telescope look up into the sky how they actually identify the origin point from where all galaxies are originated. Indirectly, the point where big bang actually happened.
    It's so confusing, because when we travel in space it is quite hard to tell where is right, left up and down.. because it is all over the same...

    • @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
      @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu  ปีที่แล้ว

      See this video for some clarification: th-cam.com/video/DNj1MQnDBIA/w-d-xo.html. Big Bang did not happen in a particular direction. It happened everywhere - as all the matter we see today was once together (including my atoms and your atoms!!). So all the points in the universe today were once close together at the start of the universe... :)

      Hamid - no. It is a "time machine" in the sense that it can see galaxies that are so far away that their takes billions of years to get to us. So when we see them, it is as if we are seeing a galaxies from billions of years ago. But we cannot see our Earth, Sun or our own Milky Way in that way...

      The names of galaxies are usually liked to some catalogues. Astronomers deal with hundreds of thousand of galaxies and so catalogue names along with their position in the sky (this is often the numbers come in). But then you have z-11 or z-13 associated with galaxies. This is to identify what astronomers call a "redshift" which designates how fast a galaxy is moving away from us and that in turn tells us about its distance. Z-13 would be farther away than Z-11. :)

    What is difference between Cosmology,astronomy And Astrophysics ??? 😐

    • @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
      @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a lot of overlap. But cosmology is the study of the early universe. Cosmologists are those who specifically study the early universe. Astrophysicists study stars, galaxies, and universe, and can also do theoretical work as well. Astronomers cover the entire spectrum as well, from planets, asteroids, and stars to galaxies and the universe, but often focusing on using telescopes, etc. I'm generalizing things here... but in reality astronomy and astrophysics can be used interchangeably.

    Sir i have a question how do galaxies die?

    • @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
      @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usman - well, it depends on what it means to "die". In some sense, one can argue that once galaxies stop forming new stars, they are dead...or that once ALL the stars are in the form of white dwarfs, neutron stars or blackholes...it is dead then. But you will still have those remnants along with gases that are not part of stars. Plus, 90% of the galaxy mass is in dark matter anyways, and we don't expect that to go anywhere... :)

    ایک اور سوال پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ ایک کہکشاں بننے کے لئے ایک ارب سال لگتے ہیں ۔۔۔۔
    پر یہ چھ کہکشائیں بگ بینگ کے چار سے آٹھ کروڑ سال بعد کیسے بن گئیں؟؟؟
    یہی معمہ حل طلب ہے۔۔۔۔۔

    • @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
      @KainaatAstronomyinUrdu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well...this is what the video is addressing. It is not that it takes a billion years for the galaxy to build. But rather, galaxies grow in size over time. So you can expect only smaller galaxies in the beginning. This is the puzzle. But it could be that we are assuming the mass wrong, or that early galaxies were a bit different than the latter ones.
