The people here are just beyond ignorant and I'm surprised that they weren't smart enough to stay away. These people must be *obsessed* with exercise, if they're willing to risk the chances of being forcibly pulled-out by those waves (or else drowning/being smashed against the rocks); and they'd even put their dog's lives at risk! Right Theron, but the waves are entering the bike path where there is usually no water whatsoever. The waves off shore were 12 to 16 feet. The spot where he and the bike were almost swept in is a giant seawall which normally is several feet above the water surface. Make no mistake, that lake will drown you as fast or faster than any sea on earth.
So what I've learned from this is: apparently jogging and biking and in some instances dog walking, causes brain damage. There should be warnings to the public about this.
Chicago is beautiful, I've lived here since I was eight, I like it here better than North Carolina and Georgia. This city is amazing, and the lake is amazing in the summer.
