Watched about 40 seconds of practice before I recognized the limp pin action and thought "strings, I'm out". CB Tour streams later today, I'll go there.
Strings seem to prevent the pins that have fallen from spinning as they slide. There was a non messenger messenger earlier that slid right in front of a ten pin. Had that pin been free to spin, it likely would have taken out the ten. The string kept it from doing so.
Neil.. those back door strikes have been happening for decades. It's called round objects hitting round obects hitting round objects and getting lucky breaks. It is NOT the same as string pin carry where the string is taking out pins in a phantom hit. Those free fall lucky hits, be they Brooklyn, back door, or messengers, are a result of free fall pins being free to bounce, deflect, carom, spin, topple, bounce, rebound, slide, or otherwise move in such an unhindered way as to knock other pins down beyond the scope of the perfect kinetic chain reaction of the solid 1-3 pocket hit.
There's also the issue of playing pins where they end up as a result of nudges and hits. Every pin left is respotted with strings thus cancelling out the requirement that pins be played where they are.
These pbas should ask themselves, isn't research typically done before implementation? If it is a problem, would you reverse course? I highly doubt that after the pba has already made the financial decision. It's being presented as a benefit for the centers but I don't think anyone understands how big company swallows little companies..... continue to weaken center position, then buy, then raise prices. History repeats itself and these employees are always going to tote the line. Not good
The conversation about pin carry, you can tell Neil isn't wanting to explore or challenge the status quo. Buzz word. I don't stand with Neil statement at all. He isn't being honest, he is saving his job.....conflict of interest. The fact you have to bring that up shows the conflict. Exactly how politics is played.....you guys danced around it
String pins….ugh!

@@jimgatl ..exactly what I did…instantly stopped watching!
Is the shot that difficult? This looks like a local Friday night scratch league.
3:37:27 big four conversion by Kevin McCune
is Kyle and Brad bowling
46:46 lane 7 looks like a string assist on the conversion. Not judging.. just noticing.
2:18:12 2:27:34 2:42:02 3:04:50 Marshall and then spare

Phil is sounding way too much like an apologist.. justifying all this carry garbage like it's normal.. nice story telling Phil.

And reduce the employees needed to run a center....you guys are captured
Nope… not watching string pin bowling.

Instantly stopped watching as soon as I saw limp string pins. The day I quit Bowling is when string pins come
