    Thanks a lot! I've been hearing a lot of these, specially the numbers - which I have finally memorized - charyot, kyong-ye and junbi. There's another one my master uses a lot, I don't know how to write, but it sounds like "shioh". He says it when we are supposed to rest / relax!

    • @NoraTKD
      @NoraTKD  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad to hear that you have found it useful! Yes, in the video I mention shioh but with a different writing, your master is right, it means to relax!

    • @Hosigie
      @Hosigie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 쉬어, read as swio. Means something like "rest now" in Korean.

    Very good Nora, you actually know more vocabulary than a lot of western Taekwondoin. Many teachers don't use the Korean terminology these days. which is a shame. Just as an anecdote, Koreans use two different methods of counting, depending on what thing they are refering to, one is the Korean method (hana, dul, set..etc) and the other one is the chinese based method (il,i, sam , sa..) it can be pretty confusing.

    • @NoraTKD
      @NoraTKD  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is very interesting! I was always taught to use the Korean method and the Korean terminology. I think that it is important to learn these kinds of things so that people will understand each other. For example, an ap chagi is an ap chagi, you do not need to translate it to English or German or anything because everyone knows what ap chagi means.

      @@NoraTKD I agree. Here everyone uses the korean terminology and when travelling and training with other people its been very helpful.

    was never a big believer in Ki or Chi power, it feels a little too mystifying. I need more data to prove this is backing my defense or attacks. I like kiai or Kyup because it can be intimidating especially if it is loud. I am just not sure about spirit power, sounds like voodoo garbage. Nora's eyes look beautiful by the way

    • @NoraTKD
      @NoraTKD  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I put some mascara and eyeliner on! :) I do use my Chi power, it helps me to break the wooden boards. I think maybe I should make a video on it to explain my point of view on it. The kihap/kyup is very helpful too!

      The word Ki or Chi originally means just breathing, basically the point of it is to breathe in and then exhale in one sharp ki hap, which can add power to your attacks.

      I was thinking of doing that by I am not sure if I can do it the right way/spelling/character and I don’t want it to be incorrect.
