Tubi is an actual treasure. You can find almost about anything on it & the quality will be all over the place. It honestly has the same energy as finding a random DVD at your Dollar General/Dollar Tree store.

There's so much love put in this film. That Duel Disk was homemade, it's obvious when you look at the close ups. They used their own cards as props, sleeves and all. Kaiba and Bandit Keith went so hard. Even Joey put his whole Joe-ussy into it. Drunk uncle Yugi is so hilarious. The mix of flash animation, 3D models and actors in front of a green screen for the duel... This took time and effort.
Tbh they also got another thing right. When Bandit Keith tried to beat up Joey but Joey beat up Bandit Keith instead, that was actually in the manga in the middle of the island and it got changed in the anime. It’s wild that this of all things retained a manga tough Joey better than the anime lol
I was genuinely entertained by this movie. I like how they had practical 2000s decks. I like how they portrayed Yugi as someone who needs his friends in place of family. This is a story about the weird goth kid and his friends caught up in duel monsters mania. No more, no less.
There's a TH-cam series called "White Dragon Legacy" by Treasure Key Studios and it's an indie live action about Yu-Gi-Oh and it plays out beat by beat like the anime - but it's own seperate story. The acting is really good and they do a great job nailing the 2000s anime vibes despite the low budget. I recommend it
I think the greatest Hollywood story ever would be if someone wrote an incredible adaptation, cast the same guy as Goku, and it makes buttloads of money
Tubi is like the digital version of a Pharmacy or Dollar Store DVD bargain bin. You'll drift through a sea of crap before finding some good stuff, and if you're really lucky, you'll find disastrous gems like this!
Haha in my defense, accents never really came easy to me. I think I watched the first episode before we started filming to try to understand how he talked. It just ended up being a bad Boston/Chicago accent I think.

I think there is a harshness here that the video doesn't deserve.... it's a fan film done in 2005..... Fan film AND 2005 should give it a pass for a lot of things....

That was an amazing movie! Glad you guys found it and shared it with us. Also as a kid I LOVED Silver Fang and to my knowledge this is the first time he ever destroyed another monster so it was worth it for that alone
Actually pretty consistent with live action adaptations. All it needs is a bigger budget and some action spectacle and it'd be on par with Netflix Avatar.

It actually wasn't too bad to film. Stephen Groo is a fascinating person to be around. I remember seeing the girl dressed in black (during the competition) on my college campus a few months after filming, and we had a laugh about it. I wonder if she ever saw the finished thing.
