I learned in flight school about the dangers of flying in congested air space. This wasn’t pilot error because someone should’ve warned them of their altitudes. The helicopters should’ve been higher because the plane has to go low to land.

Wait, didn't the traffic controller tell them where it was (south of the bridge), the altitude (1200 feet), and what it was doing (setting up for runway 33), after witch the helicopter pilot confirmed and requested permission to avoid it visually after witch the controler checked with the helicopter pilot two more times and then expressivity told him to go behind the plane, heli pilot again confirmed they had visual and requested visual separation again? After this it continued in front of the plane. Where did you get this information that they were not warned? This would not have happened what was helicotper doing training in area of airport? Those in helicotper were at fault they got in the way of airliner just as a traffic accident. Traffic controllers will need to be looked too. And the rank over those helicotper guys too need to be looked at why wete those guys in area of airport with airliners landing???????? ? And what excuses will be said.
That airport has been there for over 80 years. The accident was horrible, but that's not a reason to close the airport. Investigators probably haven't even started their investigation yet.

This airport should not operate, being too close the hubbub of Washington heli traffic. The city has a second on, albeit a bit farther away.
