Awww what a lovely idea. My mom's is Coco Mademoiselle so I am fond of that. But my Granny wore Beautiful by Estee Lauder. So I do like that a bit more. Happy Heavenly Birthday queen. Thanks for bringing us this beautiful human. ❤
Thank you Brandon. 😊 I actually love Beautiful hy estee lauder it's,a floral explosion! I expect my grandmother is looking down keeping me in check lol 😆 much love to you ❤️ 💕
@thefragrantician I'm sure she is very proud of the kind, sharing person you are. At the end of the day it's about your heart. If you have a decent heart and you make some mistakes. I can overlook that. It's having a dark heart and being hateful. That's what is disappointing nowadays.
Thank you for sharing your fond memories of your grandmother and sharing her favorite fragrance. There are fragrances that truly can take you down memory lane. How wonderful !
Gabby 💖 what a wonderful story, it warms my heart that you felt safe with her. Thanks for sharing your memories, it was very touching 🫂 I have a sample of l'Heure Bleue, love it, will definetely be getting a bottle when possible 😊
L’Heure Bleue is beautiful. I’m a man in my late 20s and love it. It’s a work of art. I detect a lot of anise in it which makes it smell natural and “grounding” Your grandmother smelled majestic! Thank you for the video
This was a beautiful tribute to your grandmother, Gabi. What an amazing woman she was. I would use similar adjectives to describe my great grandmother who died in 2016. She was a real matriarch and she wore Tosca by Maurer and Wirtz. She was a simple woman; no makeup, but always dressed up and put together. She was the most selfless, sincere, and loving person I’ve ever known. I don’t think I’ll ever come across another person like her. L’Heure Bleue is such a timeless scent. It inspired so many other fragrances. Melancholy can be beautiful.
Beautiful touching tribute to your grandmother. The way you talk about her is soul-stirring. All those small nuances… She will be partly always with you in your memories. All our dear people who passed away… About this perfume. L’heure bleau was the one that made me believe that truly beautiful perfumery exists and it really can be a form of true art, not just accessory. It was quite an experience for me. It has opened for me the door to Narnia😊
I love when you have a particular perfume that every time you smell it, it brings you back to a good memory🥰🥰🥰 I’m a Gemini and yes we get a bad rap🤷🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣people think we are “two-faced” but we actually have two sides. And we are great chameleons🤓🤓🤓
I loved L’Heure Bleu and Apres L’Ondee. They are both Ophelia like scents. Wistful, contemplative, haunting, chilly, sophisticated, suitable for solitude and Dark Academy surroundings. If dusty blue taffeta had a scent, this would be it. My grandmother wore No. 5, although she went rogue and wore Desert Flower from time to time. One year, for Christmas, I bought her Tatiana by Diane Von Furstenberg. She went ga ga for it. Thanks for the nostalgia. I’m a Gemini, Sag rising. We are not all bad.
You had such a lovely grandmother!❤ And you are too!♥️ So thoughtful to wear pink and her scent as an honour to her!💕🌸 My son and his wife have chosen the familyname of my mother as theirs when they got married because my son and all of her children and grandchildren loved her so much. The most rememberable perfume of her was Estee Lauders Knowing!
Such a thoughtful and meaningful tribute to your beloved grandmother. Nothing wrong with Gemini, I'm married to one 😉🤣. She sounds like a very strong and genuine lovely person. It's lovely that you have this fragrance to take you back down memory lane x
This was such a wonderful video Gabbi! So emotional ...your grandmother must have been a very special person....❤the things you said about her reminded me of my grandma..unconditional love ❤️❤ that's absolutely true! The most beautiful thing in the world! We are so lucky to have been given such kind of love! About her fragrance, it sounds like a very beautiful one. I have never tried it but I'd really love to!
Gabi, such a beautiful way to honor your grandma; wear her signature perfume and wear pink. Gabi, my dear Scent Sister, this was such a lovely video filled with longing and fond memories. It was my Mom's birthday on the 30th too! I went out to eat with my best friend and had shrimp and steak - a dinner my mom would have loved. I also wore her signature scent which was Norell; a cheypre scent that touched every facet of my beautiful mom - I remember sniffing her pillow and her pink foam rollers she used to wear each night to bed when I was a little girl because I missed her while she was working the graveyard shift - it comforted me - just like the magical ability your grandma comforted you. I was 34 when she passed away, and that was in 2004; the same year your grandma died. You are such a wonderful Scent Sister! 💕
Definitely unconventional here ... how beautiful a story Gabby about your grandmother, just love hearing about these unforgettable times , she was a real beauty .. i have never smelt this one but it sounds timless , wonderful video , much love and big hugs from Kat xoxo
Beautiful video. My grandma passed 2 years before I was born due to lupus yet I find myself naturally gravitating towards fragrances she wore without knowing she wore them. A few times I've tried fragrances my mum has instantly gone "Oh my mum wore that!". My grandma wore Opium, Red Door, White Diamonds (and the Fragrant Jewels flankers), Charlie and White Linen. Whenever I wear these fragrances I think of her.
That was so beautiful Gabi! Your Grandmother was quite a lady, and your description of her being soft and sweet, but strong, silent yet heard, really was moving! How amazing that she passed on her birthday, what a legend!!! I’ve not tried L’heure Bleu, but the coriander with the geranium, and violet sounds divine. Thank you for sharing this. 💙🦋🫶
Like your grandmother, I'm a Gemini, and this was my first and favorite Guerlain and the scent I got married in almost twenty-five years ago. I still have my first bottle that I bought in 1998 or 1999 (and the extrait my husband got me for Christmas in either 1999 or 2000). She sounds like she was a truly wonderful woman, and obviously had wonderful taste in fragrance. Thank you for sharing her with us.
@@thefragranticianit's delightful. Thankfully, the newer bottle I have isn't too far off from my first bottle (which isn't too far off from the much, much older vintage one I have). It certainly fared better than Mitsouko did in the initial wave of IFRA reformulations!
Thank you for sharing the story of your beautiful Grandmother and her perfume. My Grandmother was from Bury, but moved to Michigan, US after WWII to be with her Husband ( which is where I live.) Her favorite perfume was Shalimar and used to sing "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" all of the time. Such fond memories...great video. Much love.
@@thefragrantician My husband is from the Detroit area and we lived there together for some years. Small world. I hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend! ♥
Your grandmother sounds like such a sweet soul. Thank you for sharing such beloved memories of her. I am sorry for your loss. Beautiful fragrance indeed! Wishing much love, peace and joy, Vicki from Alabama.
Oh Gabby, in this review, and beautiful homage to your grandmother it almost brought me to tears... in the best way imaginable. Firstly, it started off with this beautiful sentiment and background history and your childhood memories... but then, your memories, started triggering childhood memories of my own. I couldn't believe some of the very same similarities, between your grandmother and your memories, and my own, in relation to my own grandmother.. just incredible. I absolutely loved the background and your own personal memories of your grandmother associated with " scent" ... I can absolutely relate. My grandmother did not wear this particular scent, however, the striking thing was, my grandmother was also born in 1913 , ( July 29)... and!!! Her favourite colour was pink... also, she was always well put together, and was the very same comfortingly, kindly, always had the kettle on kind of woman. You always felt loved and very safe, cared for. How very interesting. Thank you Gabby, for sharing this video with us ❤
Hi Gabby. I own L’Heure Blueue also. I bought it a few years ago during COVED when I started collecting perfumes. It is beautiful. I own a 1.7 oz bottle. Take Care. 😊
Your grandmother sounds wonderful. Haven’t smelled L’heure Bleu, and it seems a fitting, classy signature scent for how you’ve lovingly described her. My maternal grandmother loved wearing L’air du temp in the 70s and in the late 90s, until her passing, wore J’adore. Both my mom and I wear J’adore, too. Three generations of us.
What a lovely tribute to your grandmother!! Her and I are almost birthday twins!! My birthday is tomorrow, May 31!!! And my grandmother on my dad’s side died at the age of 90 on her birthday also!! Yes, Geminis get a bad rap, I think we are assumed to be “two-faced” but that’s not true at all!! We are multi-faceted and adaptable and fun! But can give you a good tongue lashing if crossed!!! Rest in peace to your lovely grandmother!! And big hugs and love to you!🦋🌈💗💗💗
We have one of those from the late 90s. We need to look it up to see what the date is. I got obsessed with it in my late teens, early 20s. I never thought of it as gothic like that but hearing you say that made it make sense for me of why I absolutely loved it so much. You must have her complexion because pink looks so good on you 🌸🌹🏵💕
Hi Gabi! I love this! Thank you for sharing about your Grandma. What a fantastic lady! God rest her. 🙏 I makes me want to cry. I am raising my little nephew who is 6. I want him to remember me how you remember your Grandma. ☺️ I smelled vintage L’Heure Bleue in a department store when I was about 17. It was amazing. So melancholic and other-worldly. I’d smelled nothing like it before. Years later in my early 30s, I ordered a decant. It might have been the same formulation as the one you have. I remember picking up heliotrope and carnation. It was different to the vintage one, but I loved it. A bit later, I bought a bottle (2020?) but it had changed again. It was ‘fizzy’ and less feminine. I eventually sold it. But I’ll never forget smelling the vintage version when I was so young. A fabulous fragrance! I love and respect you very much. Thank you for being my friend! ❤
