I gained about 10yds and approx 5mph of club head speed by holding the club a bit firmer with the right hand and keeping the crease btwn my right thumb and forefinger pressed together. I put just a bit of downward pressure on the club head with the right thumb and forefinger then just take the club back and concentrate on a full turn and good tempo. I like that you confirmed using a bit firmer grip pressure. A loose right hand for me was a disaster. I am a short hitter & 54yrs old. With light grip pressure my 7 iron carry distance is about 128-135yds @ 72-75mph. With a firmer right hand I get a carry of 142-152yds @ 77-80mph.
That's really interesting. Thanks for providng an example of how a firmer grip pressure helped improve your ditance. Going from 128 to 142 yards carry with a 7 iron is a huge difference! Good stuff.

I am totally with you Sue. Great stuff.
I know...I hate seeing that club flopping around!
So true Sue.
Glad you agree 😁
