After doing push-ups my tremor disappears completely for a few hours afterwards.

Is this relevant for atypical parkinsonism (PSP) ? My mom is 65 and has recently been diagnosed. She’s been sedentary her whole life and I don’t know how to ease her into strength training without being too abrupt

Definitely consult her Movement Disorder Specialist. I would think this is something that she would need to gradually ease into. and with PSP, I don't know if the exercise regimen is the same than if she had PD. Your MDS should know.
