That's what sets you apart, Si, the respect for your quarry, whichever species of vermin it is. Suffering is not part of the deal. That 44 ft/lb really whacks them hard!
Awesome video Simon and excellent shooting by you and your mate and I'd say that the rat's have a really bad headache after getting hit by the 25 caliber and you guys put up some good numbers tonight. Cheers guys
Well done to you both. I know what you mean about the gratification of shooting rats from my own experience in shooting ground squirrels. I also caught the reference to not shooting one rat that was not offering an optimal target, even though you could probably have delivered a lethal shot, because it wasn't necessary and you could get a better shot. One doesn't need to like rats in order to respect them enough to insure they are dispatched outright. I also noticed some similarities between your rats and our ground squirrels (sage rats). Probably about the same size, their darting about and stopping for a few seconds, sometimes behind cover that makes a perfect shot necessary. Thanks again and my best to you and Jack.
The 177 and 22's kill them well enough for sure, especially with head shots in the 177's case. but even with body shots the 25 and 30 simply make a much more noticeable impression on them.
Oh my gosh, for some reason I didn't get notified that you posted TWO videos!! Well now I get 26 minutes of awesome shooting fun! Unbelievable how hard your gun hits! I still can't believe that you stand out there in the dark with all those RATS!! Well done Simon, I'm now off to the Moorland ratting vid!! Well done as usual!
Cheers pal, ye for some reason YT have stopped notifying every one when a video gets put on, i think just make sure you click the bell as they say lol.
Nice job guys! We don't have the rat issues like you do here in Idaho. But, the ground squirrels are out of control in some of the areas we hunt in Nevada and Oregon. Hundreds a day is not hard to do! If you're ever over here in the USA, LMK and we'll get you out shooting some! Keep up the great content!
Some cracking sport, 40+ftlb thats savage lol. Theoben used to make some seriously nice guns, i have a Fenman in .22 with the rare hyedua stock now endangered african hardwood stock.Even though only 12ftlb, it's an awesome ratting gun with night sight.
Deffo a good do😁 me and mate did about the same amount yesterday! In my younger days ,I was ratting with bsa meteor , how times have changed, still addicted to it.
Ye Steve my first ever air rifle was a Meteor i can see it now all scratched with no scope on as they just kept falling off lol. i often think if back then i had my Wolverine R lol.
For those that don’t like Rats being killed, ask them would they rather Have The Black Plague Back. The Rats was the Catalyst for The Disease Spreading like it did.
Phenomenal shooting (as always) but surely the farmer wouldn't have such a rat problem if they didn't have a ceiling high pile of rubbish in their yard? 🙄
My Cat is disappointed with this one. He was expecting 2 grown men clambering over plastic and stuff so he could have a good laugh. Grudgingly he gives a 9/10 out of respect for the kill count xD
You can shoot rat's from behind and get the same result, as the shot travel's thru them hitting the heart and lung's. Quickly dispatching them. Your mate and you are great shot's. Thank's Hank
Phew... That's a stunning 'THUD', no worries about the rat being injured they are Dead. Really enjoyed this video of full action from start to finish. Moving less than two foot to the next kill now that's brilliant action. 75+ kills, makes ya wonder how many rats were in total!!! Always another night of action. Thanks to the pair of ya👍😷👍
We all love a target rich environment!!! It doesn’t matter what your after, it’s the little smile you get after a good clean kill shot. Whether it’s rats, pigeons, crows, fox or coyotes. Nice job n great shooting
'Ow do, lad. Could do with you up here! A family of rats have moved in and keep stripping my bird feeder!!! Caught 2 in catch alives in the loft (snake is very happy yum-yum) and one outside. But still 3 if the fekkers are on my feeder 😡 Anyhoo....had another bleed in back of me eye! Laser surgery was postponed from Friday last and I had the bleed overnight. Grrrrrrr. Take care x
Rapid7 in .29 ,that caliber was supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread, but didn't take off like they hoped eh , Good night on the rats lads lovely shooting as ever ,👍👍👍

Good shooting, can I ask how you managed to get a permission like this? I am down in Cornwall and no one seems interested in letting people shoot on recycle centres for some reason? Keep up the good work.
They are the best rat perms to have waste disposal places always wick with rats, I do love my ratting on the farms but also love squirrel bashing, cracking shooting you two
Thanks Simon. Once again, exemplary shooting and video. I'm sub 12 but manage to knock rats, rabbits and squirrels confidently out to 60-70 yards. I also had a downward clean shot to a rabbit at 82 yards. Thankyou for your calm and precise execution of your quarry. Would there ever be the opportunity to join you both on a shoot (Jack) in order to learn? Kindest wishes from the New Forest.
@@simon6ppc246 I should add, I'd just like to learn, I don't need to shoot myself, just take it all in. Amazing what benefit simply observing can give.
Should be using a .22 short. With a suppressor, that thing would be super quiet but very effective. But honestly, the air rifle is doing fine at those distancss
That's what you call a productive night. You really are a great example when it comes to humane pest control. Owner must be pleased with the dent you 2 put in the population.
Just out of curiosity, why are there so many of these rat shooting videos from the UK? Here in America we have a rat surplus, too. I wonder if farmers here rely more on poison? Or maybe they just shoot the rats themselves rather than hiring someone?
Hi Simon I think it’s time to say (miss a few) your rubbing salt into the wounds of mine, rats kill them all , but those long shots it really affecting my sex life , all I can hear is, look at that shot how come you can’t shoot a rat from five FEET I’m rubbish bah humbug Be happy stay lucky mate
That's what sets you apart, Si, the respect for your quarry, whichever species of vermin it is. Suffering is not part of the deal. That 44 ft/lb really whacks them hard!
Thank you my friend.
It's like one of those Carnival shooting games, where you shoot at the pop-up targets. Hours of fun.
None stop action my friend.
Certainly no shortage of targets.
Well done to you both.
Thanks pal
I can understand why you enjoy shooting the little vermin! Another enjoyable video. Thanks
Thanks Randy.
You have got to love the sound of an Hades pellet expanding on impact. Well done lads👍
Ye they do wallop for sure
The “disposal unit”, I love it Simon. Amazing work for 2 hours and thanks for detailing the equipment.
My pleasure!
Great video as usual and I just love to see a 20cal Rapid earning it's keep. Keep up the good work and I'll keep watching 👍
Thanks Colin
That .25 hits like a freight train on those rats. Good fun, Simon!
Thanks Frank 👍

Great shooting from you both. Got to love that .25FAC whacking sound. Cheers from Texas, and nice to see you out on the rats. See you and Jack soon.
Thanks David.
Brilliant, reminds me of the chicken farm I used to go on when they emptied the sheds....rats everywhere 😀
Lol ye rats every where,
Great video glad to see both respecting your quarry and shooting them in the correct way.
Thanks Alan.
