    This is why it's important to go to a good hairdresser. You can do all the right things and then go to a bad hairdresser who can destroy your hair.

      Samsung Tv Exactly. All it takes is one bad treatment to ruin years of hair health.

      Dominique would you recommend shampoo, conditioner and then mask, or is it better to just do shampoo and then mask?

    I go to hair stylist I’ve had since high school she does a terrific job . One bad tip sometimes I have is itching my scalp a day before .

    What's funny about a lot of these facts is that most of this is covered in the instructions inserted in the at-home boxed relaxers, like all the instructions/information is literally in the box! It's important to read everything and make sure you're properly informed before doing your own relaxer, I'm just surprised not that many people read it before doing it 🤷🏾‍♀️

    Great video! Great tips!! Your hair is so shiny & beautiful!! I've experienced some of these don'ts. Especially trying to stretch w out knowing how to manage my new growth. It was painful! Did more harm than good. But now that I know how to manage the two textures, stretching for 13 weeks is a breeze. I can't even imagine getting a relaxer at 8 weeks ever again.

    The best relaxed hair tip video I have seen in a longtime. Thanks for sharing! Now I plan to stretch for 12months, silk press, do twist outs to style because I want to have the best of both natural & relaxed hair worlds. Since I added Redken Extreme & Olaplex to my regime, I no longer fear heat damage & breakage. Have you tried using a neutralizing conditioner after relaxing, before using a neutralizing shampoo?

    • @StyleDomination
      @StyleDomination  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Iriowen Wallace Hi Iriowen! Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words! Encouragement like this makes the hard work worthwhile! Since I will be working from home and not seeing anyone (lol), I’ll be doing predictive soon styles like you until this outbreak ends. I expect to see some major gains! And no! I have never tried a neutralizing conditioner! Great idea!

    Great video, thanks! My HUGE issue is I haven’t been able to find a beautician who specializes in growing healthy relaxed hair. So many are on this natural hair kick and I find salons who primarily work with natural hair but will do a relaxer if requested, tend to be inconsistent & reckless with the chemical and will over process your hair and ultimately be the reason why it ends up 3inches from your scalp!😩. Can anyone recommend a stylist who actually has a positive opinion about relaxing hair and knows how to do it with CONSISTENT good results??? I will travel these United States for a good hairstylist!

    My problem has always been the temples vs. the crown, the crown being more resistant and the temples being more prone to burning my scalp. I'm currently trying out using a hot comb on the temples in-between. Because I don't want "frizz" at all. Not visible, anyway. But then I'm going from having lived with my head shaved for the better part of the last 20 years, to growing it out, preferably without it being "Brillo-head."

    I wish you lived in Michigan because I would go to your hair stylist cause it seem like they don't what they are doing here anymore , putting relaxer on my hair without a base having bad burn scalp all in my head everytime I get my hair done they want to throw a relaxer on it, and went to someone else they want to wait so long to put a relaxer it until my hair is break and breaking , ask for a hair cut with a picture and they want to do what they want to my hair and cut it off like a boy I don't like that , I'm been to over 7 hair dresser and they don't know want their doing went to a barber and he gives me a clipper cut , half of them don't know how to cut hair wet either ,

    My hair is to my nape, so I wear it down daily. Every morning I comb it with a wide tooth comb. I notice allot of tiny hairs fall on my shoulders and back. Is that normal? Is it shedding/breakage? I do apply oil or leave in conditioner before I comb it.

    Hello Dominique that's a great video ! I please have a question : I bought this Dark and Lovely kit relaxer, it has a deep conditioning mask with it for after the relaxer but no protein mask. I'm a bit perplexed because I know relaxer breaks the hair's structure so we should re apply a protein treatment right after it ... Can I, after rinsing the relaxer put my own protein mask and then my deep conditioning mask ?
    Ps: Do you have an email address ? Sorry if I'm bothering you with my questions in the comment section
