I was brought up in a very Pentecostal Hispanic household and Pokémon was completely out of the question, like many other things like Harry Potter, goosebumps, smurfs, ect. I cannot be happy enough for my parents showing me the way to holiness. I understand what you said about quitting wether you feel that conviction or not, but I have noticed that as I walk closer in step with the Holy Spirit, he asks me to give up worldly passions and desires. I have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit actually say to me years a ago to get rid of my video games and to stop playing Hearthtsone. These games all have roots in satanism, neocramancy, paganism, occultism, ect. They all have some connection with real live demonic battles that witches and wizards have with each other. They fight using demons that they allow in their bodies to literally kill soemone else that also has demons. They do this until one person is left alive. Then they acquire the demons of the dead person so they are more powerful. This sounds quite a lot like what happens in Pokémon, hearthstone, magic the gathering, and many other RPG games. I’m so happy that the Holy Spirit has given me the gift of knowledge beyond what most people can ever have. Some Christians have even been angry at me and disagreeing with me about my personal testimonies and my walk with God as I tell them about avoiding these games and every temptation the media has to offfer. You see, I have been through way too much suffering and I am just way too thankful for Jesus Christ saving me to allow a simple demonic game to destroy my relationship with Him.
I’ve been trying to find something that is reasonable about pokemons being demonic because I’ve felt it in my spirit and when my child was just gifted a Pokémon toy that feeling of it not being good washed over me again. I’m trusting this is the Holy Spirit and will be getting rid of it. Thank you for your testimony

There are things you do in video games that you don't do in real life and vice versa. I'm a Christian and I play pokemon and occasionally pathfinder (it's basically dungeons and dragons) We play games, we shouldn't live them. If you have trouble recognizing the difference between the two, stay away from them. Otherwise, just play them, don't live them.
People just don't want anyone to rain on their parade and take away their idols. D & D is clearly evil and not something God would have us be involved in. Saying it's only fiction is no excuse, as ideas and what we allow into our heads carry a real weight. We shouldn't watch bad films nor read books with witchcraft like Harry Potter just because they exist in a fictional universe. I watched Pokemon as a kid and liked it a lot. Along the years, I started collecting Pokemon cards and playing some of the Pokemon games. I liked Pokemon until...a few people & a few family members mentioned that Pokemon was EVIL. I can’t even play or enjoy Pokemon around them to be honest. I know Pokemon is just for fun and its fantasy but they don’t seem to understand. Since I was a kid, I knew that Pokemon isn’t real. Some Pokemon are creepy, but I just catch and keep the cute ones. I’m not addicted to Pokemon, I just like playing it when I have time. I do make time for God & God is always #1.
I feel like the same goes for Harry potter, yes it's magic and wizards BUT it's fake, it's not real, it's fantasy. It's just a fun story. Same with pokemon, it's all just fun, no harm done.

I've liked Pokemon in the past, and I still like many aspects of it, but I've been wondering, what about the violence in Pokemon? Wouldn't Jesus be against even playing games that have you fighting in any way? Especially for sport?
I struggled with whether or not Pokemon was demonic for many years. I grew up with it, and always loved it growing up, and even got back into it as an adult. Like with most, no one who told me it was demonic could ever give me a good reason as to WHY and HOW. However, I've come to realize that it is in fact demonic. The roots and symbolism found in Pokemon are in fact occultic, and what sealed the deal for me was coming to the understanding that a lot of the Pokemon creatures are based on Japanese Yokai, which are supernatural entities in Japanese folklore, as well as Egyptian deities, and deities from many other religions, etc.. I think that should say enough, but to drive my point further, I've seen countless testimonies of people who came out of other religions that worshiped these deities and are now born again believers in Christ. Most of them will tell you how demons manifested to them, and the cause was their involvement of these deities that were actually demons in disguise. With that said, to own anything physically or even digitally Pokemon related will most likely come with a demon because of the spirits inspired behind the Pokemon, thereby being an accursed item, which the Bible warns about. Scripture also warns us against our association with spirits, witchcraft, and necromancy. Pokemon is heavily involved in all of this. And to those saying, "Oh, I've never seen a demon manifest or harass me since I started playing Pokemon, so therefore this guy just doesn't know what he's talking about." Listen, demons won't always appear in a way that's so obvious. They can appear in the form of an illness that might not seem to go away, or a relationship issue, financial blockage, nightmares and the list goes on... Satan's agents will do all that they can to block you from going where God wants you to go, and they do it by entering into your life with your permission through the avenues of entertainment.

The association with Pokemon in your life serves as an open door to Satan, whether you wanna believe it or not. Sounds like you're trying to give yourself a justified reason to keep playing the game despite all of the obvious evidence. At the end of the day, everyone's gotta make their own choices. You do you.

Eh personally I used to like Pokemon but then I felt weird playing it and the game sounds like familiar spirits so I got scared. I only like the pokemon that aren't demonic and look normal. EDIT: The more I thought about it, they seemed more like earthly creatures and not spiritual ones, but I've been messed up by legalism concerning pokemon. It makes me feel insane.

I think most videogames are fine. As long as your not doing anything that goes against god then it is ok to have fun. I like to view pokemon as an over exaggeration of life,yes, there are demons and evil things, but most aren't. There are demons and evil in our life aswell. Whenever i play a pokemon game I love to avoid using any sort of demonic pokemon and just treat it as going on an adventure with animals. I check wether a pokemon is meant to be a demon or not before using them and most aren't. Pokemon can be a fun adventure, just don't give into the temptation of demons, dont get addicted, and remember its fiction, not fact.

Thank you for this ... I had witnessed strange things ever since my boys had these cards and books in our home. This is very concerning. I have not forced my kids to get rid of them, but I've shared information with them so they can make their own choices about getting rid of them. 75% of my boys have destroyed and removed items from their rooms and the house.

I went back to playing and started to sleep without getting any rest; mornings felt like I didn't sleep enough even with 8+ hours of sleep. Hey everyone! I’m a kid and I’m not allowed to play Pokémon. My parents always told me it was bad and I agree with that fully. Even if I had the choice to play or not I would never play it ever! Because I’m pretty sure as Christian we are supposed to stay away from all evil. The game literally has witchcraft in it and Christian parents are letting their kids play this? And doesn’t 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24 say to stay away from the appearance of evil? Well yes it does. I was brought up in a very Pentecostal Hispanic household and Pokémon was completely out of the question, like many other things like Harry Potter, goosebumps, smurfs, ect. I cannot be happy enough for my parents showing me the way to holiness. I understand what you said about quitting wether you feel that conviction or not, but I have noticed that as I walk closer in step with the Holy Spirit, he asks me to give up worldly passions and desires. I have heard the voice of the Holy Spirit actually say to me years a ago to get rid of my video games and to stop playing Hearthtsone. These games all have roots in satanism, neocramancy, paganism, occultism, ect. They all have some connection with real live demonic battles that witches and wizards have with each other. They fight using demons that they allow in their bodies to literally kill soemone else that also has demons. They do this until one person is left alive. Then they acquire the demons of the dead person so they are more powerful. This sounds quite a lot like what happens in Pokémon, hearthstone, magic the gathering, and many other RPG games. I’m so happy that the Holy Spirit has given me the gift of knowledge beyond what most people can ever have. Some Christians have even been angry at me and disagreeing with me about my personal testimonies and my walk with God as I tell them about avoiding these games and every temptation the media has to offfer. You see, I have been through way too much suffering and I am just way too thankful for Jesus Christ saving me to allow a simple demonic game to destroy my relationship with Him.
I’ve been trying to find something that is reasonable about pokemons being demonic because I’ve felt it in my spirit and when my child was just gifted a Pokémon toy that feeling of it not being good washed over me again. There are things you do in video games that you don't do in real life and vice versa. I'm a Christian and I play pokemon and occasionally pathfinder (it's basically dungeons and dragons) We play games, we shouldn't live them. If you have trouble recognizing the difference between the two, stay away from them. Otherwise, just play them, don't live them.

My mm took the cards and destroyed them, she destroyed 60,000$ + worth of cards. I am devastated. I grew up in poverty, and pretty much left home at 16, this 60,000$ + would have been EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

I watched Pokemon as a kid and liked it a lot. Along the years, I started collecting Pokemon cards and playing some of the Pokemon games. I liked Pokemon until...a few people & a few family members mentioned that Pokemon was EVIL. I can’t even play or enjoy Pokemon around them to be honest. I know Pokemon is just for fun and its fantasy but they don’t seem to understand. Since I was a kid, I knew that Pokemon isn’t real. Some Pokemon are creepy, but I just catch and keep the cute ones. I’m not addicted to Pokemon, I just like playing it when I have time. I do make time for God & God is always #1.

Pokémon is actually based on insect fighting. Satoshi Tajiri was inspired by his bug-collecting hobby as a child. Pokémon battling isn't comparable to dogfighting/cockfighting because Pokémon actually LIKE battling and they don't experience any long-term damage from battling.

Wasn't much in to Pokemon as a kid. I liked Yu-Gi-Oh somewhat, but Naruto has always beeny favorite anime. I loved Naruto, I had Naruto cards.

I struggled with whether or not Pokemon was demonic for many years. I grew up with it, and always loved it growing up, and even got back into it as an adult. Like with most, no one who told me it was demonic could ever give me a good reason as to WHY and HOW. However, I've come to realize that it is in fact demonic. The roots and symbolism found in Pokemon are in fact occultic, and what sealed the deal for me was coming to the understanding that a lot of the Pokemon creatures are based on Japanese Yokai, which are supernatural entities in Japanese folklore, as well as Egyptian deities, and deities from many other religions, etc.. I think that should say enough, but to drive my point further, I've seen countless testimonies of people who came out of other religions that worshiped these deities and are now born again believers in Christ. Most of them will tell you how demons manifested to them, and the cause was their involvement of these deities that were actually demons in disguise.
With that said, to own anything physically or even digitally Pokemon related will most likely come with a demon because of the spirits inspired behind the Pokemon, thereby being an accursed item, which the Bible warns about.

I did my fair of research as a Christian and I think pokemon isn't demonic or satanic in any way sure it has magic or dark magic even some dark stories but then isn't everything satanic in a way? look at thor for example it has gods and a part where Thor fights a demon king...Do Christians believe thor is satanic? I think most videogames are fine. As long as your not doing anything that goes against god then it is ok to have fun. I like to view pokemon as an over exaggeration of life,yes, there are demons and evil things, but most aren't. There are demons and evil in our life aswell. Whenever i play a pokemon game I love to avoid using any sort of demonic pokemon and just treat it as going on an adventure with animals. I check wether a pokemon is meant to be a demon or not before using them and most aren't. Pokemon can be a fun adventure, just don't give into the temptation of demons, dont get addicted, and remember its fiction, not fact.

Thank you for this ... I had witnessed strange things ever since my boys had these cards and books in our home. This is very concerning. I have not forced my kids to get rid of them, but I've shared information with them so they can make their own choices about getting rid of them. 75% of my boys have destroyed and removed items from their rooms and the house.

I went back to playing and started to sleep without getting any rest; mornings felt like I didn't sleep enough even with 8+ hours of sleep. Eventually I found out what I posted and got my "feeling rested" back.
