This is one of the best and most realistic videos on studying ive seen like its so real idk if yk what i mean but its relatable thank you rlly for your TIPS AND VID SOOOO HELPFUL!!!!!
Hey Imogen! I'm one week into year 12 right now and turns out my class is doing the same Pdhpe options you did! (sports medicine, improving performance)
Alyssa Cascos perhaps you’re not doing the correct study method for yourself. You should definitely look into alternative methods; everyone learns differently and that’s okay !
I really love the typed notes and then study bible idea, this has helped me so much!! Just wondering how you did the bible for maths??? Or did you just do practise papers to study.
just my opinion, study bibles worked in year 9 & 10 when there wasn't alot of content for each subject. in year 11 and 12 I found it too time consuming and pointless to make a "bible" when I have all my typed notes anyway. Instead I just memorised everything by recalling it inside my head/saying aloud looking at the typed notes. for math, I guess the "bible" is just formulas for everything to refer back to throughout the year & scan over before the exam. btw I ranked top 5% for most of my trials
I'm like in year 10😂 and currently failing like I will do well in class but then get into the exam and be like ah great I forgot everything and I'm terrified that would happen for year 12😂😂
The best advice I can give you is just do a bunch of past papers and study your syllabus content to the bone. Don't go into tests with huge expectations of yourself and just know that you've studied and prepared well with confidence. People stress so much over HSC and their ATAR, but in reality, someone who gets a good ATAR can lead a crap life and someone with no ATAR can lead a good life and vice versa. Start getting into a good study habit right now and you'll be all goods.
@BazKar Year 10 affects year 11 only in that it determined what subjects you get. Most if not all content does not carry over besides in mathematics. Year 11 content barely carries over to year 12, except for in PDHPE, Mathematics and Biology. Only reason to try in year 10 and 11 is to get the subjects you want, and to build a good work ethic/study habit.
I get the same thing in exams, Im starting yr 12 right now, best thing that helps me is to do practice exams and like practice with the conditions and timer and everything. Then when youre in the exam youve done it before and shouldnt forget so much! Hope this helps, I wouldnt really bother with this for year 10 but definitely when you start 11
Hey, this is one of the best vids so far on hsc. I'm going into year 12 in 3 weeks and IM SO Scared mainly because I don't think I did that good in my prelims. Idk if I can study as much as you, I want to and I'm not smart enough to remember anything, I'm genuinely so de-motivated but I want to get into Medicine or something similar. These are my subjects, Math Std, English Adv, Bio, Legal, Business and SOR. The three subjects I might drop are legal, business and Math. Can you please tell me what you dropped and why, I'm so scared I'm not doing that good in year 11 and I STUDIED before the exams. Also, did you make notes like a week before exams or consistently make notes every day of what you learnt and did you only do homework when you went home?
i really enjoy and love your videos hardcoreeee xxx thank you for putting your time in trying to help others.. also one question that i have is - what is a summary note and how do i make them ? like what do i put in them and all
A summary note is to right write down the important information (for example- syllabus, information you don’t know and trigger words to remember key information). Make sure with your summary note you minimise the amount of information you are reading and if you understand something move on until before the exam to remember it. Information you should put in is information you don’t really understand, but mainly anything linking to your syllabus.
Congratulations on your ATAR! Remember 2020 Year 12s your UAC Early Bird applications can be submitted until 30 September 2020 (then the application fee increases $). Also keep in mind your ATAR is telling you your POSITION in relation to all other students, your HSC is telling you your PERSONAL PERFORMANCE (two different numbers meaning different things!). The only way you can increase your position is by having a good personal performance - you can't control the competition because you can't control what other students are doing. Check out our videos for ATAR and NSW/ACT university entry related content :D
Because they are good subjects! They are interesting and picking subjects that you find meaningful and enjoyable is important! english is compulsory, PDHPE was hands down my favourite subject very relatable to being an athlete and just as a human in general as it is about the body etc, biology is also about the body and the earth so again very interesting and I think I only picked maths as I was on a USA college scholarship program for athletics in year 10 and I had to pick a maths subject ahah, i liked it though :)
I just want to tell everyone now that your HSC is not the end of the world. It might feel like that now but it's not. I can tell you with 💯% certainty that I failed my HSC exam and when I got my exam scores back I cried my eyes out. I am now 23 an a event/marketing manger that works for a high end company and earn around $75 grand a year. I never went to uni I did all my qualifications through Tafe.
Im in my last term of year 11 and i'm so stressed but this helped a lot❤️
girl same good luck!!!
