Should I react to more pink Floyd ?
Yes. Pink Floyd, “Comfortably Numb”, Pulse concert, live 1994…..it’s a reactor staple, that you’ll love, guaranteed😃 Great reaction by the way:)
Please try "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" from the same album, think you will like it. Great reactions, thanks.
Please do - maybe try Great Gig in the Sky from Dark Side of the Moon?
@@vincentvancraig
i second that suggestion! 👍
@@michaelcorkery3853yes she should but the album track not the live ones. It’s a different level
Omg you are just at the beginning of a beautiful life changing journey into the greatest music of all time. Enjoy
Pink Floyd are one of the greatest rock bands in the history of rock music. Their vocals, instrumentation, lyrics, sound, and light shows are phenomenal. Definitely more Pink Floyd. I would recommend something live from the Pulse Concert like Comfortably Numb.
disagree that people put P.F. music as rock and roll . their are very little 3 beat songs with repeating words.
Shine on you crazy diamond is an absolute masterpiece.
Yes but please, without the vidéo animation. Just the song.
Supposed to be about original singer Syd Barret.
Pink Floyd are their own Genre.
David, " their own genre" is really a great way to describe them....Pink Floyd makes me really emotional.
David Gilmour's method for constructing guitar solos by "singing" them first, then playing it on the guitar. Here is one example where you can hear him sing it and play it simultaneously.
Lovely reaction you nailed the meaning of the song
Pink Floyd are one of the top bands of all time their album "Dark Side of the Moon " is acclaimed by critics and fans alike it is the 4th bestselling album of all time and holds the record for the longest run in the billboard top 200 charts from 1973 till 1989 and is estimated to have sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
Wish you were here is the title track from the album of the same name. I purchased my fist Floyd album Meddle in 1971 15 years old Floyd are noted for deep lyrics, amazing soundscapes and long Tracks some of their albums are concept albums each song is a chapter in the album much like a book and seamlessly transitions to the next. the albums are best listened to from start to finish which makes each song more powerful, but each track is still a masterpiece stand-alone
Floyd are also noted for their incredible light shows in concert they were one of the first bands to use light shows back in the 60's
They have done some of the most Brilliant music, a real rabbit hole 👍👍
Ah, I've loved this song for so long now, makes me think of the people I loved who are now gone...
Wow, great reaction! You're gonna head down a crazy rabbit hole with this band! Buckle up!
You really, really aught to take a look at The Pulse Concert from 1994 !! Legendary live performance!!! And Available on TH-cam....
Shine on You crazy Diamond, High Hopes, Sorrow, Coming Back To Life, Keep Talking, Learning To Fly, Time, The Great Gig In The Sky, Money, Us and Them, Brain Damage/Eclipse, Comfortably Numb (the greatest guitar solo of all time!!!), Run Like Hell. Echoes live in Pompeii performed in the ruined amphitheatre with-out an audience, just gods playing to the lost souls of the volcanoes victims!). Also, On the Turning Away, live 1988 from New York.....that'll get you started!!!
Have a safe journey!!!!
Floating above the earth, the wind whirring, waking from a dream, still in a trance, feeling free but feeling alone -- very compelling.
You're at a very impressionable age. Keep listening to this excellent classic music, you'll be so thankful you did later in life.
Yes!!! Yes!!!!! More Pink Floyd!!
We played this at my dads final send off -chokes me up every time x
I’m so sorry for your loss
you must see pink floyd's "pulse" live concert. song recommendation: comfortably numb
So many choices from PF. I’m in my 60’s now and it means more today than it did in the past. Treat your mind to Pink Floyd. You’ll never forget it :)
" Comfortably Numb " live at the Pulse CONCERT
More please. I suggest "Time" and "Mother" but keep in mind that Pink Floyd albums were created as single concepts, i.e. the songs on an individual album lead into each other.
I was a late 80’s 90’s kid & I wasn’t much exposed to the 60’s &70’s stuff until around age 18 to 20, American *or* British, so, I think it’s quite common as a kid ur just into ur own generation’s stuff….but then u get older & curious (I started smoking weed, lol) & you delve the Beatles & Pink Floyd & zeppelin & Sam Cooke & Jimi Hendrix & Bob Dylan & Bob Marley, all the old American blues guys that inspired ALL of them, & ur whole world just opens up…it’s pretty common is what I’m saying, ha….i was the same way, & know many others who were too:)
The song starts with a mono recording as if he's listening to an old AM radio then as the music starts he joins in, he wishes you were here. to play together.
Really appreciate your thoughtful reaction and your sensitivity to the musicianship of these bands. Definitely check out more Pink Floyd. There is a lot, but one of the most iconic performances from band is their 1994 live version of "Comfortably Numb" from the concert film Pulse. Another one of their definitive works is "Time" from their album The Dark Side of the Moon. Hope you hear more, and thank you again!
Regarding missing someone: You may have nailed the theme behind the song. The song was motivated by the final absence of Syd Barret, the co-founder of Pink Floyd who had immense personal struggles. Listeners no doubt can associate the song with people they miss and love.
I might add that the owner's of record labels and most producers who treat music mainly as a business are mostly just looking to sell to immature listeners ( I don't mean just young listeners) because that's where the profits are.
Even in the '60s, 70s and later it was difficult for art rock (which is what this is) to get played on mainstream radio. For much music, you had to find alternate sources of progressive music because a lot of the good stuff was longer than 3 minutes.
Ahhhh, Great Sound of my youth. This song is dedicated to Syd Barret. One of the founding members who met a sad end
I will never forget Berlin 1990 The Wall on Potsdamer Platz. 300000 people. It was epic.🤩😍
There are still excellent musicians out there these days but the money is in steady work and so many really good musicians are having to "dumb down" their roles in producing music that is far less innovative than their abilities on their chosen musical instruments. This music was produced at a time when young people were really listening to the lyrics about anti-war sentiments and the many profundities of life. We were ready for "heady" stuff and, indeed looked for answers in the music. It molded many of us (I'm 75) into true music lovers of every type. There is so much to learn about life within the lyrics of many of the songs of that era. Just as we early rock and rollers gave short shrift to the works of the classical composers, today's (the last 20 or 30 years) young people are just as guilty as we were (us old timers) or selling short the work of the artists of the past. I'm so glad there are many young (teens to 40 year-olds and over) people, as yourself, discovering the musical magic of past generations. You will not run out of amazing stuff to listen to.
You are correct. Most popular music these days doesn't sound like this and these instruments because there ARE no instruments. All done on computer. There will never be another musical era like the 60s to 90s. And I was fortunate enough to have lived through all of that. Enjoy this rabbit hole, it's mind blowing.
Floyd brings me back to my teens. Of you take requests I would like to request Hardy "Wait in the Truck" or "Give Heaven Some Hell".
Try On the Turning Away live from the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour 1988. Beautiful song. It is their ode to eliminating homelessness.
Great pick for your first dive into Pink Floyd. There are many more!
Pink Floyd "S hine on Y ou crazy D iamond 1 - 5"
it's also from the same album Wish You Were Here.
This entire album both celebrates the life of Syd Barrett as well as mourns losing him to severe mental health issues and drug abuse.
Syd had been a founding band member dropped out of the band a few years prior to this album.
During recording a bald fat man with shaved off eyebrows wandered into the studio. it took several minutes before they realised this was their old dear friend Syd. Roger Waters cried when he saw what had become of Syd.
The name comes from two blues musicians from the delta in the 40's and 50's
"Hey You" one of my favorites of there's. Its too powerful.
As a general rule I would suggest that with the great bands, you always listen to a live performance. You get so much more that way.
Completely disagree. Album versions first. Always.
@@rmyikzelf5604 Sad.
You can’t stop with one. You will have to continue your journey.
This album was a dedication to Syd Barret the original lead singer of the band. You really should react to the entire album because each song is a page in a book. Syd lost his mind and was addicted to drugs. Wish You Were Here was one long beautiful journey. One does not simply listen to Pink Floyd, one experiences Pink Floyd. This is actually the shortest song on the album. And on the album each song bleeds into the next.
I'm french, you know how much France and england hate each others😂Ennemies...Let me tell you, i love England because of those bands, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Clapton, etc....😂Peace from France my lady✌️😅🌹
The musical ability of music back in this timeframe was off the charts. The songs would take you on a journey. Check out Genesis doing Firth of Fifth or even The Cinema Show.
Each Pink Floyd album is like a book. Each song is a chapter and you should start at the beginning of book to get the full effect. Especially Dark Side of the Moon, Animals and The Wall. Individual songs are cool but the full effect of the albums are great.
It was written about a former band member who started.the band.
Top 5 bands all time
U can name 4 better than pink floyd??
@@QuerientjeI said top 5 not #5 smart ass. Depends on your taste. But no question the Beatles are #1 fuck head
Yes please. I can’t really recommend any particular songs it will take too long. Just pick any and you won’t be disappointed.
You should absolutely check out more Pink Floyd either on your reaction channel or just in your personal life
Saw them do this live in 1994. They had the whole stadium singing along with them. One of the greatest experiences ever!
Watch them live! The Delicate Sound Of Thunder tour from 1988 is great!
Get ready..you've only just begun❤
It may not work well for reaction videos, but Pink Floyd is definitely one of those bands that it pays to listen to entire albums in one sitting. This is true for a lot of music from this era but imho especially true with Pink Floyd.
Ive been a fan of Floyd since 1972 when i was 10 yrs old , when my Dad bought me the LP Meddle which has my fav track the 24mins Echoes , however this LP Wish You Were Here is my fav LP , hope you see the concert Pulse in 1994 or songs from it . Also the concept albums Dark Side of the Moon , Animals and The Wall which was turned into a major film . Good luck on your journey
I don't believe that you've never heard this!
Never !
Nice reaction. I can see your honesty
To answer your question, yes.
Well said!
Pink Floyd is known for "Concept Albums" where each song adds another chapter to an overall story. Every album tells a different story. Some albums are very noisy, while others are great to just zone out to. David Gilmore's guitar and vocals along with Roger Waters ideas and introspective outlook created a genius unmatched in music. Enjoy your learning and don't be afraid to ask questions. There's so much to know and so little time.
Four words" Year Of The Cat" by Al Stewart. It will overwhelm your senses in sound and lyrical composition. You're welcome.
Rabbit hole? Oh yes
From this same album, listen to SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND (parts I - V). Britain must be falling apart if you're just now learning about your iconic native music.
Named in homage to two old black blues musicians from North Carolina, “Pink” Anderson and “Floyd” Council. The band was drawn to them for their raw blues sound. No other band like them! They are the cerebral band of rock!
Glad you enjoyed this. I wish you had watched the Pulse live version instead, you will get even more out of it. I am not a fan of this particular fan made video, with all the overly literal pictures. You will completely fall in love with this song and band when you it live, especially from Pulse 1994.
ON THE TURNING AWAY is another beautiful song
This will blow your mind watch the wizard of oz and when the mgm lion roars put dark side of the moon on and let it play i aint going to tell ya what will happen but have your phone handy i dont know who you going to call but have it fully charged and ready to call your bestie
Well now you are initiated you have to hear COMFORTABLY NUMB in the live PULSE concert to hear and see one of the greatest guitar solos ever.
You just reacted to one of their gentle songs. They can be full on rock, blues, very progressive. Next, Comfortably Numb, Pulse , to up the ante a bit. I'd wait for Echoes or Shine On You Crazy Diamond until you're used to their impact. Both those songs are long and intense.
Absolutely listen to more! ❤ This is legendary music!
You might like "Fat old sun" by Pink Floyd.
try the live pulse concert version of this.
Any song from the 1994 Pulde concert would be gold. React and they will come.
Ok I'll follow you down the rabbit hole 😂 not sure what type of music you are used to listening to, but trust me ... your musical world will vastly expand once you dive into Pink Floyd
This whole album was a protest album against the record company. They were pressuring the band to put out another album so they put out songs they figured were not great and were slamming the record company. But it went on to be one of their best albums. Guess there were a lot of rebels out there at the time it came out that could relate to the attitude they brought.
Wish Syd was here.
Indeed, a very interessting band. In the game, for 50 years...
Thanks for watching
Try Obscured By Clouds. I’d describe it as entry level Floyd. Just don’t bother with the last track on side two. Then you might be ready for Echoes! Dark Side of the Moon awaits.
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited)
I'm sure this will surprise you, and leave you wanting more and more. So here's some more:
Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky (PULSE Restored & Re-Edited)
Always react to their live versions: in most cases: Pulse 1994 live! Other Pink Floyd „must listen tos“: „High Hopes“, „Comfortably numb“ (both Pulse luve 1994) or „On the turning away“ (live from the late 80ies from the „delicate sound of thunder“ tour)!
Welcome to real music.
ooo finally discovered some real music. enjoy
I'm of an age to be your grandmother, they are probably more my generation. I'm 71
Please try Comfortable Numb live Pulse Concert. From Detroit Michigan, great reation.
No cuter girl has ever listened to Pink Floyd. 🤣🥰.
Now listen to "Another brick in the Wall!
This whole LP is about the founder of Floyd back in 1965 Syd Barrett who only made 1 LP their first , then he took too much LSD and went a bit strange and was left out and left
Of course you should listen to more Pink Floyd, but if you don't continue you will miss out on an ethereal transcendental journey into a realm of subconsciousness that only Pink Floyd can deliver. Here is hoping you continue this journey as only you will be missing out. Nuff said!!
Every song on this album is great, Next, listen to Animals, The entire album
Check out Led Zeppelin. Dazed and Confused is a good start but there are so many great songs. Nothing like todays music.
Watch the live pulse concert
Anyone who would interrupt Wish you were here to talk is never going to get it. I guess you had to be there.
Welcome to the machine
Pulse - the greatest achevement of our civilization.
In my opinion, the top 3 goat bands of all time are floyd, zep and the beatles. You need to deep dive all 3.
Anderson Cousins are one of the greats. How many will get this?
Never been to england i was going to marry liz when she was single but its a long way to england in a row boat plus i would have to steal a rowboat
Hi friend. I recommend you listen to a wonderful song by Pink Floyd: "Comfortably numb".
👍🏽
May I suggest Queen❤
PInk Floyd really aren't really a "singles" band. Best listened to an album at a time. Their songs aren't a destination, they're more a part of a journey.
All the great rock bands are British, with a couple of exceptions.
Do you want to be taken on a journey, test your emotions and listen to music that touches your sole?
Look up Wordsworth.
this studio version is great but the live version from the 1994 Pulse concert is in my opinion life-changing th-cam.com/video/84Tq-eAJIk4/w-d-xo.html is the link .. you will thank me later
Your eyes tell me, 60/40 40/60 ,; has to be recipricated. Just saying eh. This is an awsome song/music
Just Another Brick in the Wall
"We don't need no education."
Oh DARLIN' you have found what can only be described the best band to ever play live. They had so many great albums stuffed with legendary songs. All of the very best songs were performed live at the "Pulse Concert in 1994" . This band can and will play to every emotion in your soul. Their live versions will leave you stunned and in tears. They are that good. I'd suggest spending alot of time getting to know Pink Floyd. Their albums are journey's best heard from start to finish. Once you know the songs, watch the "Pulse Concert" versions of the songs. You'll never hear music any better. During the Pulse Concert, they play the song "Comfortably Numb" - in it, David Gilmour (vocals and lead guitar) plays what is considered to be the greatest guitar solo in history. There are no words to describe it. Fans have been listening to it for 30 years and everytime we hear it's like the first time. Goose bumps and tears hit me everytime.
Rap music has no instruments, which is why I hate it. Floyd is the diametrical opposite. It is brilliant.
