Having worked in Green Oak timber framing in Cumbria UK, I would use the ribbed construction, but with knee and wind braces for extra stiffness and strength, and it would be fully pegged with seasoned Oak pegs. No screws, bolts, steel or aluminium involved. Hence, it would last for 100's of years.

What are building codes and import laws like for Australia?
Florence Cathedral is a compression dome, but it was built with ribs that spiral like a geodesic dome. Any comments?

@Martinn959 yes, you can use whatever insulation base you desire. The kits we sell come with wood wool as the original insulator but that can be replaced with anything you want.
