Thank you Alex and Tom for sharing your prized possessions with us. Tom is a true collector because he collects other things outside his specialty.

Good day. Thomas Wittmann is a man with a capital letter! Always on the positive, a real Man!!! Long life to him and new additions to his museum (to call it just a collection, the tongue does not turn). Alexey, I bow to you for the review and the magical meeting with the wonderful Thomas))).

It never fails to blow my mind Tom’s collection. Some of this stuff really should be willed into museums. Truly incredible Tom was able to track some of this stuff down over nearly 50 years. How do you even find something like a DE Poletop in the wild? Yellow pages Ads? Every few years people get up in arms when they find out AH silverware are being sold or people collect flags… yea sure just go ahead and melt down serving plates for spot price and burn 80+ year old war trophy flags… they’ll never understand it.

When it comes to WW2 collectibles any German stuff that has the swastika it's more expensive - you can have a WW2 German military binoculars in excellent condition and another in less than good condition but if it has the swastika it's worth more than the excellent One, I remember back in the 1970s gunshows you could find lots of WW2 German military stuff and it was always cheaper than US WW2 stuff but today it's the other way around.

New Subscriber here. I'm a collector of Third Reich items too. It's a fascinating part of history, I feel moreso from the German point of view than the Allies. I totally agree with what you say regarding the re-enactors. How can a re-enactment be historically accurate if both sides aren't represented?

I've been a military War buff since I was a little boy I would listen to any story anyone told me about any War. One of my personal favorites is the two buddies who came back from WWII. They both had identical Nazi daggers as souvenirs. One day is Buddy call him in a panic kind of. Tell him do you still have the dagger from the war. He says yes you should get it and get your car and come over here right now. He goes over there and they're at the dining room table. He can see the pommel of his friends knife is removed. His friend explains his boy was playing with it and check this out. He dumps out wrapped in some thin paper a whole cache of diamonds. They opened his up solid no diamonds. Has anybody you ever known found anything inside any of the historical artifacts?

Goring ended up trading out most of his personal stuff to his jailers while on trial. I’d say good chance he might have been wearing those when captured. Imagine trading a pack of smokes or something for them then a few years later selling them for enough money the buyer took out a loan.

Never donate to museums. In many cases the items are stolen by workers there or forgotten about in back storage rooms.

Not always. The 70 or so swallowtail flags the soviets captured including the LAH DE Flagpole were all thrown at the steps of Lenin’s resting place after all being intentionally grounded to disrespect the enemy. All of those flags are still there and considered national treasures to the Russian state.

Marking on the RM Eagle porcelain reminds it is KPM Berlin. They used the Iron Cross marking as 1914-1918…

Everything from the past has to be seen from the perspective of it's time. How dare we to judge people for things done in a periode we have no clue about? It's to easy to say: "why haven't anyone done this or that against?" its simple-minded to enforce todays standards over things that happend 80 years ago. It isn't as simple as to divide in good or bad...

The soldiers of that era that went on a death, destruction rampage through Europe raping over 40,000 women, two books written on the subject, are still pounding their chest, acting as heroes that saved the world today, when tyranny was back home masquerading as good the good guys. My uncle was at Pearl Harbor, a radioman on the USS Farragut, when it was attacked. He said bullets went through the wall around him while he was at his post. Just before he died, he wrote a angry letter to his sister, saying, No one ever asked him about his service. Well, I did, because I was very interested, but he had no interest in sharing what he did with anyone back then. So, do you really think, he would want to see, hear the truth about why the Japanese attacked that military base? Of course, NOT! Closed minded like most Americans!
