    I adore your Annabelle hedge. I have a small group of 3 under my front picture window at my house and I adore them. I trim the blooms off at the end of fall and that is all I do, no trimming other than that.

    Kelly , love your growing info. I am in Bethlehem PA. Zone 6. Just want you to know , I followed your Peony tips for cuttingss, and was able to give many cut flower vases ( in glass pickle, mayo, olive jars) to neighbors, friends. They so appreciated them. So , thank you.

    Thank you for sharing! I had to prune my Annabelles to about a foot from the ground this year. Late frost zapped them pretty hard. As soon as I pruned, the leaves started to grow and now I have dozens of blooms starting this year. So exciting, especially because I only had about 5 blooms on them last year! I only added fresh compost to them this year. Sgt. Bluff, IA Zone 5a here.

    Colorado Gardener. Annabelle shoots protected from 8” of snow on May 20th finally forming flower heads. Cut back to 12” every winter still reach 4’ by August. Lightly fertilize with organic compost in late spring. Full sun with good watering keeps them in full flower. The shade tree is gone so full sun. I was shocked that Annabelle survived the removal of shade tree in mid July three summers ago and has taken off more each year. Single plant was 3’ h x 3’ wide in shade and now fills a 5x5’ space. Thanks for the videos

    Where do you buy the smooth hydrangeas. How many make up your hedge? How far apart did you plant them? 😊

    Are you suppose to dead head hydrangeas? From Southeastern NC. Long ago I had one hydrangea and I'm missing it. Love your videos and hope to find a neighbor I can propagate some from.

    New subscriber to your channel, I found you on google when I was looking for tips how to sow zinnias seeds. I live in Atlanta Georgia and I’m trying my best to get my garden beautiful with different types of perennials instead of annuals. I had hydrangeas when I lived in NYC so I’m familiar with them. Any advice on other perennials to add in my garden. Thanks for sharing valuable info…

    I have the dwarf smoothie limelight hydrangeas. They were doing beautifully until late July. After that many of the flowers started to turn brown. What May have caused this?

    I have heavy clay soil and all my plants seem to do much better with fertilizer. Which fertilizer should i give my smooth hydrangea? the same as my macrophelia or same as panicle hydrangeas?

    How far apart did you plant them?

  • @xxpowwowbluexx
    @xxpowwowbluexx ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When you fertilize, it works against your plants in the long run. Why? They stop working with the soil microbes and become dependent on you feeding them.
    The microbial relationships keep them fertilized with exactly the right ratios exactly whenever they need it; the microbes feed them!
