As someone who only just got into motorsports in general 2 years ago and watching this type of racing in particular last year, I really appreciate these break downs!
Welcome to a great sport. I only got in to prototype racing in the last few years. Now I can't get enough. Can I recommend the "Truth in 24" films both 1&2. They are simply brilliant,, and are about Audi at the 2008 and 2011 Le mans races. Enjoy. 👍😊
LMP2 has had a great run through the years. Especially during the American Le Mans Series era. Porsche raised the LMP2 bar in a huge way in the 2000s with the RS Spyder. Going to a single make single engine series did not initially thrill me. That said, it has been very entertaining watching the European Le Mans Series races with LMP2 cars battling for wins. The competition has been very good. I would say the LMP2 class has been very good for IMSA as well. Replacing the single make single engine class with something else would be highly interesting. The current cars have been beyond my expectations for great entertainment. Hopefully the successor class of cars can open up to more chassis manufacturers and engine companies. In the meantime I am going enjoy their presence at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
current LMP2 is a great proving ground for future top tier drivers as well as ones from the past. over the years there have been iconic cars in this category such as the Lotus Lola B12/80 and the Porsche RS Spyder
In IMSA it is the LMDh, LMP2, LMP3, GTD PRO and GTD classes all out on track at the same time. Sounds like you're referring to WEC though and they are the same way, they all race on the track at the same time.
@@babihutan7165 No need to apologize! So the LMH and LMDh cars are permitted to run in both the WEC and in IMSA. Unfortunately this season no LMH cars are coming over to race in IMSA though. Hopefully next year we will see one or two on the grid!

LMP2 became one of my favorite classes based on how the cars sound.
They do sound great!

Best channel for IMSA discussions hands down. I recommend it to anyone who is a current fan and especially the ones just getting into it.
Thanks Alan!

Yes it has! Don't forget about the current top tier drivers as well, we will see quite a few high profile drivers in the class this year!
The RWR ligier from the 2021 rolex was probably my favorite lmp2 car ever
That really was a beautiful livery!
At 3:23 you said LMP3 uses blue mirrors and number box. In your last LMP3 video you said LMP3 uses orange mirrors and number box.
Good catch, I did not catch that in editing! I meant that LMP2 uses the blue mirrors and number box!
The oreca 07 looks so good 😍love that nose
Would love to see a street version of an LMP2 car.
Longs in short, LMP2 class is all about Oreca 07😅
Do hypercar (LMH & LMDh), LMP2 and LMGTE AM race together on circuits? or each class has its own event?

Unfortunately not this year!
