Ok Doug is the mechanic, Nick is camera man, Nick s is comic relief, this is the winning recipe,😜and nothing gets broke and less blood in the video, hahaha, keep,em coming bro,s you guys are the greatest
Good news bud. Lowe’s will be selling the craftsman stuff starting pretty soon. Supposedly the production is going to slowly be brought back to the good’ol US of A.
You doing clutch work soon Nick? KWI seems to have a pretty solid kit. I believe they also sell a tool kit that comes with everything to remove the primary, secondary, and to split the sheaves.
A good trick to get those exhaust springs off is a shoelace or any small piece of string/paracord. You could also buy a spring puller too I suppose but I prefer string, easy to get those hard to reach springs. I don’t have a SxS just something I know from ski doos.
the best thing for getting springs off is get an old screwdriver , heat up the tip and bend it into a U shape, perfect for removing and installing muffler springs. or you can go out and spend $50 on a spring removal tool but homemade is better, cuz you get to play with fire for a few mins :)
the original mxzrevman I've always used an old T handled allen wrench, ground to a point, heated & bent at the tip. Or one can be purchased relatively cheap on amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B001KO7NHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apis_1518293098978
If you turn wrenches you have constant cuts and scrapes on your hands, I literally have about a dozen right now and I wouldn't have even noticed that little boo boo he got.
Speaking of beast mode,Is the motor still going on the YXZ that the supercharger went onto ? or did it reduce the reliability and blow up? Love the vid's guy's great entertainment
Scott, the owner of that unit, works so much that he hasn't really put many miles on it. It needs a clutch and ideally a bottom end build (which I think it's getting?)
SXSBlog.com lol! You guys are hilarious. I hope you hooked him up with some hot and ready pizzas and rumin cokes! Looking forward to see this years adventures.
Does upgrading the exhaust of the 2020 X-RS (to full catless) require ECU reflash? I mean looks like there’s no secondary O2 sensor and tune might not be necessary.
ZasQuatch _87 from what I've read, the oe silencers actually flow pretty well considering what they are. The cat delete will net more hp gains than an aftermarket silencer.
My brother ran one that was supposed to be "quiet" and it blew our ear drums out and didn't seem to make any extra power... went back to stock real quick
The best part of that setup is obviously the horsepowder gain, but a nice sidenote is you no longer have to put your foot on the brake to start. Great series and muffler springs SUCK.
Anyone else noticed threwout the years Leo is always smellin stuff LMAO, he's on the quest of identifying the crisp smell of horse power remnants LOL!! Just bustin Leo, but no ones got yuh with the "pool chalk smells like blue berry" yet huh? 😂😂🤙
I know why Doug wanted to put anti-seize on that O2 sensor and Nick didn’t, you both know who will end up having to take it out sometime down the road. Nick DGAF lol
Time to make an exhaust spring tool. Take an old stripped T handled allen wrench, heat & place a (roughly) 100 degree bend about 1/2" from bottom of wrench. File to point. Voila. You now have a T handled exhaust wrench that won't slip off of the springs and bust your knuckles. Or you can buy one on Amazon... www.amazon.com/dp/B001KO7NHI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apis_1518293098978
SXSBlog.com C'mon Nick, you just know you've got an old stripped t handled allen wrench laying around you want to make one out of lol. I used to deal with the busted knuckles when I was younger & working on the sleds. When I went to put the pipes on my Outlander is when I said fu(k it and made one.
Doug Butterfield yea, as a general rule I grind mine down as necessary too. When I decided to sacrifice one of my 1/8" allens, it was around 0 in the garage as I hadn't put heat out there yet and after about the 4th time bashing the same knuckle on the same spot on the frame...I fugured fu(k it. It's earned it's keep over the last 8 or 9 years though.
Must quit saying BUD. Has to be the most annoying part of the video. Put Doug back on the wrenching duty so we don’t have to here bud every .0000000001th of a second. Other than that great videos keep them up!
The timing of the words “Black hole” while there is a fridge with a women bent over on the fridge! Priceless!!!
ahhahahahahahaha
I love when y'all put the professional behind the camera / it's hilarious 😁
"Ok stop doing that" These videos are so entertaining.
Funny intro! Great video too! The more frequent videos is one keys to TH-cam success
Every other day bro
Ok Doug is the mechanic, Nick is camera man, Nick s is comic relief, this is the winning recipe,😜and nothing gets broke and less blood in the video, hahaha, keep,em coming bro,s you guys are the greatest
You forgot Steve. He is the creeper in the background...LOL!
Hahahha thanks man!!
Can't wait to see this beast in action!!
It's BEASTLY
Love the effects... especially the TERBA FIRE!
TERBA CHERGER
"The level of pain i'm experiancing right now is pretty high" bahahah! Love how calm and collected you stayed during that comment.
Yeah I wish I would have showed the scrape better on video. I could see white stuff, not sure what it was lol
There's no crying at SXSBlog garage.
haha, that sucks. At least you didn't flip out in anger on camera...I would have probably had to edit that part out :)
Hahahaha when he drop the ratchet I lost it everybody that's worked on something has done that before priceless
i made my wife mad when i laughed so loud at that moment lol
Worst is when you do it twice working on the same part.
I know 😂😂😂
Hahhahahahha
Love the blog and especially how you guys treat eachother. So impressed. Keep it up.
Priceless!!!! Way to go guys!!!
You guys are awesome!
Y’all need to come down to (The) Highlifter Mud Nationals in Texas this March. It is a blast and y’all would enjoy it! Keep up the good work fellas!
DUDE we planned on it until something else came up in early April.....
Been there several times HOT, DUSTY and you'd need some serious mud tires 2.0s will not work there
I'm sure Doug cringes sometimes when watching others working on stuff. Awesome sound coming out of the X3!
HAHA, no kidding! He is doing good at not taking over.
I felt like I had to do the work lol
It could be Mr. Goodwrench himself and it would still be torture for me, lol, but I'm learning
Badass vid as usual. Keep it up guys
Good news bud. Lowe’s will be selling the craftsman stuff starting pretty soon. Supposedly the production is going to slowly be brought back to the good’ol US of A.
URBAN AMERICAN TACTICOOL hopefully you're right. Do you know if Lowes will be honoring old sears era hand tool warranties on craftsman ?
ROTAXD no idea about the warranty for the tools but they start selling them in the second quarter of this year.
Murica!
Craftsman was sold to.Stanley last I read.
kong3 yup. That’s who bought it.
Need to have Nick and Nick work on more stuff and Doug video ... LOve to watch them wrench on stuff because it adds to the comedy ...
Hey much appreciated
I was hoping you would start it with just the side pipe only!!!! Sounds Awesome
It was so loud, I thought it would be quieter!
You doing clutch work soon Nick? KWI seems to have a pretty solid kit. I believe they also sell a tool kit that comes with everything to remove the primary, secondary, and to split the sheaves.
If the price was free 99, yes.
SXSBlog.com Lol I'd love to buy it an send it to you, but I'd have to get a 6' x 10' banner made to cover EVP's banner!
You buy the stuff we'll make the banner! lol
A good trick to get those exhaust springs off is a shoelace or any small piece of string/paracord. You could also buy a spring puller too I suppose but I prefer string, easy to get those hard to reach springs. I don’t have a SxS just something I know from ski doos.
Ohhhhh hell yeah!!! Support the blog
hope to see a dragrace between nick and steves machines and hopefully one of the get some stm clutches so doug can do a detailed setup on them
Yeah I look forward to seeing how they compare! Right now theres about 12 inches of snow so we may be waiting.
Slp makes a nice spring pulling tool
1000cc Nick needs to get a toy poodle or something to pet. He's constantly petting his facial hair. lol Nothing personal, bro
You should see what he does OFF camera!
It's the camera nerves
It's not an impact,it's a ratchet and milwaukee m12 makes some great ones, with all anvil sizes must have for garage they are handy as hell
You right dude.
Did Doug have any problems at Silver Lake Park for loud exhaust
I don't think so! I believe he ran with the cores in last time we were there.
Nope, it really isn't very loud even with the core out, just click it up a gear when cruisin my the DNR and everybody thinks it's stock...
the best thing for getting springs off is get an old screwdriver , heat up the tip and bend it into a U shape, perfect for removing and installing muffler springs.
or you can go out and spend $50 on a spring removal tool
but
homemade is better, cuz you get to play with fire for a few mins :)

That thing sounds mean! Nice work. If You aren’t bleeding your not trying hard enough. Lol. Thanks for the video.
It's soo cool with the extra turbo sounds now
If you turn wrenches you have constant cuts and scrapes on your hands, I literally have about a dozen right now and I wouldn't have even noticed that little boo boo he got.
Gona start carrying craftsman at lowes according to our managers.
Will they still honor the warranty?
This is true seen a Craftsman toolbox at Lowe's yesterday had a sign on it said coming soon to Lowe's
I wonder how much airflow that intercooler sees with people in the cabin and a windshield
There's a fan on it so there's that? lol
SXSBlog.com better than nothing!
WHERE CAN I GET THAT FRIDGE STICKER!!!!!!!!!
Another project done.... can't wait for the next one, was there any horsepower gain?
Between the tune, cat delete, air box mod, and fuel pump about fiddy hoarspowa
Would be smeelin a lot of exhaust without that downpipe gasket lol I kept sayin "i hope he puts that back in" lol
Naw man I like carbon monoxide
Hey Nick when you take that X3 out for a test drive could you please show us the Razorback gauge and action
Good call!
How come you didn't put the captains choise muffler on
I didn't get one (yet)
Craftsman was bought out by Stanley. So Craftsmans should be available again in some form.
Nick do you guys use SafeStart at your job?
Speaking of beast mode,Is the motor still going on the YXZ that the supercharger went onto ? or did it reduce the reliability and blow up?
Love the vid's guy's great entertainment
Scott, the owner of that unit, works so much that he hasn't really put many miles on it. It needs a clutch and ideally a bottom end build (which I think it's getting?)
Y'all keep making me want to sell my Commander and get an X3 xrs but I'm just afraid it wouldn't be able do work as I need it
I just towed a lawn mower with the X3 so I think it'll work.
SXSBlog.com thanks for the reply guys
How hard is it for Doug to not be in charge?
You'll see how jones'd up he was to do the fuel pump lol
SXSBlog.com lol! You guys are hilarious. I hope you hooked him up with some hot and ready pizzas and rumin cokes! Looking forward to see this years adventures.
Just when it couldn't get any better I spy RC cars on Doug's shelf. Fuckin A
hahaha maybe those will make an appearance this year?
were you able to save and reuse the gasket between down pipe and turbo?
Yep, no problem there
Still can get them in Murphy north Carolina
OMG the end was hilarious hahahah
If your tuned, can you leave the mid pipe only?
Hey buds , just curious what Doug does for a living , he knows his stuff, and also can I rent him for a couple weeks , I’ll give him back I good shape
Mike Dressler: he’s an engineer. They talk about it in their first live stream. Should be up still.
Nice
I need to do this immediately! Lol!
When is part 4??!
Just ordered all this shit $$$
My man! I hope you enjoy it. It's a COMPLETELY different machine.
Does upgrading the exhaust of the 2020 X-RS (to full catless) require ECU reflash?
I mean looks like there’s no secondary O2 sensor and tune might not be necessary.
No it should be ok. But a flash will unleash MUCH more power!
When is time to let the x3 eat?
very very soon
Any reason you aren't putting an aftermarket muffler on? Videos are awesome buds!!!
ZasQuatch _87 from what I've read, the oe silencers actually flow pretty well considering what they are. The cat delete will net more hp gains than an aftermarket silencer.
ROTAXD Yeah I just figured sound and weight savings while they already had it apart would be reason enough lol
Lots of places we go have noise restrictions
SXSBlog.com I think you could get a deeper tone without adding decibels, doesn't need to be loud haha
I didn't know that!!
There's blood everywhere!
mmmhmm
That down pipe would make a good bong! Lol
I don't even smoke weed and realized how ridiculous it looked while I was editing.... oh well! lol
SXSBlog.com lmao
I wonder how loud Weller Ex. Is on a yxz
Probably similar to Doug's Akrapovic.
One of the few thangs I hate about the X3. Working on them. Feels like every time you work on it you have to take the hole body off. LoL!!!
You should have made terba charger noises from the old down pipe to see how restrictive the 🐱 is
Dat soot tho
Kmart and Lowe's dale Craftsman tools now
Save a finger buy a spring removal tool.
Save a finger buy a Doug.
when is the next podcast?
Anyone else noticed threwout the years Leo is always smellin stuff LMAO, he's on the quest of identifying the crisp smell of horse power remnants LOL!! Just bustin Leo, but no ones got yuh with the "pool chalk smells like blue berry" yet huh? 😂😂🤙
Biiig nasal guy
Your not wrong🤥
Does Sivler lake have a noise restriction?
Yes they do. 97db max. They were real jerks about it last year too.
Looks what might happen if you took to dealer when Doug isn't working on it
I know why Doug wanted to put anti-seize on that O2 sensor and Nick didn’t, you both know who will end up having to take it out sometime down the road. Nick DGAF lol
Here's a secret, I've never given a f.
🍻 to that. 👍
if I could like this 2x I would lol
Thanks! hahah
Test drive??????
I broke that boost solenoid so the test drive is coming soon.
That right i forgot. Well when u r back up and running post a vid!!!!! Thanks for all the entertainment u guy do an awesome job
#turbosaremufflers
You ri dude
A better trick is to use a few feet of larger wire to pull the spring.
I prefer smashing my finger.
That works also haha
You guys have more tools than me and ya don't have a spring puller!? I haven't busted my knuckles since I bought mine for like $15.
I had one and the tip broke off pullin springs on a snowmobile, my hand was swollen for 3 days, never replaced it, lol
Doug Butterfield Yeah I had the pin snap off a cheap one, blood followed. Lol.
Hook I mean
Time to make an exhaust spring tool. Take an old stripped T handled allen wrench, heat & place a (roughly) 100 degree bend about 1/2" from bottom of wrench. File to point. Voila. For $8.95 I'll keep bashing my fingers.... lol
We're pretty cheap so when a T handle strips out we just grind it down and keep usin it, lol
Doug Butterfield yea, as a general rule I grind mine down as necessary too. Wrap that pipe !!!!
I wanna keep it shiny
i found out you can use wire l
grind a hook style groove in a flat blade screwdriver.... spring removal tool made cheap
How am I supposed to bust my knuckles if I have the proper tool?
Stanley bought craftsman
spring hook..........................................................
or janky pliers!
and busted knuckles. I love the extended fridge shots....
Hopefully they fix the junk ratchets craftsman has been putting out for 20 years
You can build a nice custom exhaust with a 2” magnaflow car muffler for under $100.
Gonna keep the stock muffler. It flows well and looks good!
First to view!!
Naw dude I've seen this about 100 times already lol
Removal of muffler springs, Do not follow nicks instructional video. Lol
"instructional"
Please listen to Doug...an engineer. Otherwise start SXSBlogHACK.com...
hahahahahaa maybe we'll register that site.
Must quit saying BUD. Has to be the most annoying part of the video. Put Doug back on the wrenching duty so we don’t have to here bud every .0000000001th of a second. Other than that great videos keep them up!
Sorry bud
Hahaha these guys are great! This guy bashing the BUD and they respond SORRY BUD.. 😂😂
Lol...I cringe every time I see someone using a crescent wrench backwards...
I'm surprised the car still runs
