The story of how Baumkuchen came to Japan could be a movie. It started when a German man living in an area of China that got taken over by Japan in WWI was taken as a prisoner of war by the Japanese and sent to a camp in Okinawa, but after the war he decided to stay there and start selling Baumkuchen cakes and it became such a hit there that he was able to open up a factory making Baumkuchen and other confectionaries. The company is called Juchheim Co and is still there in Japan but it's a much bigger company even now

In Germany there are only Baumkuchen at festivals
But they taste very tasty
You can also get Baumkuchen at the store around christmas :D
